  1. +1 They have the 20 down to an art form, nobody can age whiskey for 20 years like they can. The 23 is very hit or miss, and very barrel dependant. Most people consider it way too wood tasting (people who have paid the money call it "complex"). Personally, I think when they had a miss on a barrel of the 20 they just let it go to an enigma number, like 23, and sold it off in Asia until they realized it would even go here. If it were me, I would grab that 12. I prefer Bookers to the 10. But you are in luck. There is one of the best whiskey tasting bars in the world right on W. Harmon, the Whisky Attic, run by UNLV Professor Carmer (at least I hope it is still there) and they will even teach you how to taste it. You used to also be able to get a six taste Pappy flight at Sage. Then you will know, and only be out about $400. Cheers, Travis
  2. Food back then was so-so, the reason to go was, and still is, the drinks and sunsets. Travis
  3. This guy is science/medicine based. He is pretty good at separating the wheat from the chaff. This video is just one example, he tells you if Sports Drinks are beneficial and how much you should drink before and during exercise. In this particular video, only six minutes long, he also mentions who authored a study that says that sports drinks can be beneficial in certain circumstances.
  4. Not much help here. We have cameras all the way around (7), ADT provides the interface, and it all goes to a dedicated hard drive that records on loop for 90 days. (Today overwrites what was recorded 91 days ago). There was be some software available that will provide an interface that will allow you to record it to a hard drive. Travis
  5. The photos are up in the Galery here. There were all taken by Richard's wife as they were going through the Cary Audio factory. I will be adding captions/descriptions after I have a chance to talk with Richard about what we are seeing. Travis

    Cary Audio Factory Tour

Here are the photos from Richard's @guywithwine factory tour from May 4, 2018.
  7. I remember one was haunted. I heard it was even "official." I wonder what the process is for getting officially declared "haunted."
  8. Klipsch sighting Cary Audio listening room, Raliegh, N.C.
  9. UPDATE: October 11, 2018 McIntosh Laboratory, Binghamton, NY Skip to page ___ for photos of the McIntosh tour Great American Audio Factory Tours Many, many of you have taken tours of the premier American Audio factories across the USA, including the tour of the Klipsch factory in Hope Arkansas. I started this thread for people to share their American audio factory tour experiences with us, both narrative and especially with photographs. Richard Groves @guywithwine (Klipsch Museum of Audio History Founders Circle member and Fundraising Standing Committee Chairman) recently took a tour of the Cary Audio factory in Raliegh, North Carolina, so I thought we would start with Cary Audio because it is recent, and Cary Audio has been a great partner with Klipsch at shows such as CES when they both want to show off their great sounding stuff. Bruce @Marvel is going to try and set up a tour of the Western Electric tube making factory in his area and, if they let him, share his experiences and photographs here as well. Back to Cary Audio. When Richard was taken into their the listening room at Cary Audio he was pleasantly surprised to see that he would be listening to the highly regarded Cary amps and preamps through a set of of handmade in the USA speakers a few of you might be familiar with. American high-end audio and the factories they are made in. More to come . . . .
