  1. I remember one was haunted. I heard it was even "official." I wonder what the process is for getting officially declared "haunted."
  2. Klipsch sighting Cary Audio listening room, Raliegh, N.C.
  3. UPDATE: October 11, 2018 McIntosh Laboratory, Binghamton, NY Skip to page ___ for photos of the McIntosh tour Great American Audio Factory Tours Many, many of you have taken tours of the premier American Audio factories across the USA, including the tour of the Klipsch factory in Hope Arkansas. I started this thread for people to share their American audio factory tour experiences with us, both narrative and especially with photographs. Richard Groves @guywithwine (Klipsch Museum of Audio History Founders Circle member and Fundraising Standing Committee Chairman) recently took a tour of the Cary Audio factory in Raliegh, North Carolina, so I thought we would start with Cary Audio because it is recent, and Cary Audio has been a great partner with Klipsch at shows such as CES when they both want to show off their great sounding stuff. Bruce @Marvel is going to try and set up a tour of the Western Electric tube making factory in his area and, if they let him, share his experiences and photographs here as well. Back to Cary Audio. When Richard was taken into their the listening room at Cary Audio he was pleasantly surprised to see that he would be listening to the highly regarded Cary amps and preamps through a set of of handmade in the USA speakers a few of you might be familiar with. American high-end audio and the factories they are made in. More to come . . . .
  4. There was a guy in Texas, Sid Hall, who build/owned about 22 theaters and named some of the "Rialto." There is one in Beeville that they are restoring right now that has a very similar history as what your are describing in Searcy. The theater was taken over by the City and a non-profit group is trying to raise donations (about 1 million so far) to get it in condition to show movies again. I don't know if the Rialto theaters here in Texas have anything to do with the ones in AR. When was he one in Searcy built, do you know? I believe Beeville was 1922. Travis
  5. Bruce, Can you try and contact Charles Whitener to see if he will give you a tour of the WE factory and take some photographs? We are going to be starting a thread called "Great American Audio Factory Tours." It will be photos, and descriptions of audio factories that still make great audio products, to tie in with Klipsch being a great American speaker. I am thinking of putting the thread under 2 Channel unless someone can suggest a better place to put it. We are finding that these factories are more than happy to give a tour, allow photographs, and give information when they find out it is going on an online Klipsch speaker forum. Since it is right down the street from you, and I know you would love to see it, AND you are a great photographer, I thought I would see if you could try and set that up. You can PM me for more details on the factories that we have lined up, etc. I am going to start with Cary. Travis
  6. I thought the one in the process of being restored was in Searcy? Someone told me the "Rialto in AR" was "officially" haunted. There are several Rialto theaters in Texas, all owned and built by Sid Hall. They are trying to save many of those in many different places. They were built in the 1920s and then ownership changed many times. The typical scenario was that when a nearby multiscreen theater opened up nearby people stopped going to these beautiful theaters and they closed down.
  7. For a 2 way system? So the bass bins they have this horn matched with are large DR I guess?
  8. QSC speakers? In a cinema in Arkansas? Thats Heresy!! 😀 j/k. Glad they are restoring it. Is that the one that's haunted?
  9. Here is the information on the Sale; I am also updating the price list in the original post in this thread. KLIPSCH® SPEAKER SALE (Opens May 4, 2018, 7:30 P.M. Central Time) Featuring Klipsch® Heresy’s® (Chief Bonehead Editions), Klipsch® Professional Theater Speakers (“KPT”) and Klipsch® Permanent Installation Speakers (“KI series”) MEMBERSHIP DRIVE AND FUNDRAISER for the Klipsch Museum of Audio History As you may have already read on the Klipsch® Forum (https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/175943-its-here-khma-membership-drive-sale-kpt-ki-speakers-and-chief-bonehead-h3s/) the Klipsch Heritage Museum Association, Inc. (KHMA) which operates the Klipsch Museum of Audio History recently received a generous donation of Klipsch® speakers they had in excess inventory. These speakers were used as “demo” speakers from trade shows, speaker demonstrations and tested in installations. When they were returned to Klipsch® in Hope, Arkansas they were all tested at the factory by the head of Quality Assurance and determined to be in excellent working order. The KHMA has decided to use these speakers to encourage people to join KHMA by initially offering them only to MEMBERS of the KHMA, and . . . As a special “thank you” to our more substantial contributors, they are being offered to YOU, our Charter, LaScalla, Cornwall, Hersey Members starting Friday, May 4th at 7:30 up until Monday, May 7th at 7:30 p.m. and then whatever is remaining will be offered to all of our members for purchase. The sale will culminate at our Annual Member’s Meeting on Saturday, May 19th. The Officers wanted this be an additional benefit to show our thanks to all of YOU for stepping up first and in a substantial way. A very big thank you to our largest contributor and sponsor Klipsch Group, Inc. for this colossal donation of speakers. Friends, there are no pink headphones or “crap audio®” this list. Now for the speakers. The Thanks “UP-FRONT” Kevin Harmon, KHMA Trustee and Khorn Corps member, personally inspected all of these speakers and they were photographed by Khorn Corps Member Elden Luquet, husband of KHMA Trustee and Secretary, Christy Luquet. Kevin, as many of you know, has bought and sold a lot of Klipsch Professional®, KPT and KI speakers over the years. Bill Hendrix supplied a wealth of information on these speakers. He has owned practically every KPT and KI product we are offering for sale, as well as used them to set up sound for his church and other settings. A tremendous shout of thanks to Jim Hunter for picking up these speakers from KGI and taking them to our new annex building out near the airport. Finally, thanks to Chief Bonehead, Trustee Roy Delgado, Jr., for suggesting to KGI they donate these speakers in the first place, filling in some technical information here and there, AND, agreeing to sign the Chief Bonehead Heresy’s. Physical Condition of these speakers varies from “good” up to “excellent”. They have been photographed and you can view all photos and judge the condition of these speakers for yourself by going to one of the following links: Speaker Photos Dropbox link with “hi-res” photos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4lx0uurp15zbsxs/AABr3we9ERoj0ASDYBGJYV4ha?dl=0 The Dropbox folder includes a Subfolder with the photos of the Chief Bonehead Edition Heresy IIIs. Simply send me a reply email that says something like: “I will take Item(s) H1 and H2, the pair of Chief Bonehead Heresy IIIs.” That’s it, I will send you a reply email advising you if you were first, and if so, where and how to pay. The speakers have been priced accordingly. If you are coming to the Pilgrimage you can pick them up then. If you are doing a pickup during Pilgrimage we will have people there to assist you with loading in the back of your pick up or trailer or SUV. If you don’t have a pickup, full-size SUV or trailer, you need to check the dimensions of these products and their weight to determine if what you are driving is going to work. If you pick up before or after Pilgrimage you will also need to bring along your own manpower to load them in your vehicle of choice. Technical and Condition Questions: If you have technical questions about the speakers for sale, Bill Hendrix and Kevin Harmon have volunteered to answer questions about the specific products, how they sound, what they match with, what components they have, what goes well with what, etc. For the fastest response, I would send both of them an email and they can get back to you as their schedules allow. Also, include a text and/or phone number so if that is the quickest way for them to respond they can use that option. Bill Hendrix has owned, bought and sold nearly every product on this list and is very knowledgeable regarding the KPT and KI product lines. He can probably even tell you if a particular speaker will fit in a Suburban or not. Kevin Harmon has also owned some of the speakers on the list and has personally viewed each and every speaker listed. Their email addresses are: bhendrix51@me.com for Bill Hendrix and kharmondds@aol.com for Kevin Harmon. Additional information: If you have any other questions please let us know.
