  4. Yes, there are many sections left and they are incorporating those into the Flordia Overseas Heritage.Trail. I think that Huricane that wiped out a lot of Flagler's Folly was.the Labor Day Hurricane. When did they start naming them?
  5. 185 Mph winds Pressure 916 mb. The only "good" outcome.for.S. Fla is ot hits Cuba, or South of Cuba and then it het sucked into Gulf where it can regroup and slam into us somewheres else. I agree with @Gilbert, I think they are going to have to reconfigure the Saffir-Simpson scale.

  7. I learned a lot about goats from you in there.
  8. It was fully discussed in that forum before it was terminated on Friday, it's not open for discussion here. If you want the answers to those questions I would suggest you PM @Mallette or @Chad.
  9. I have no idea, it's not up to.me. Here is an official audio forum. http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/index.php There is nothing there for non-Crown/audio related topics. Here's another official audio manufacturer forum that us fairly repepresentative of most officiall manufacturer forum. http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/147317/club-polk-rules-of-engagement-a-refresher Here is a restatement of their rules which is also fairly represetative. Polk Audio Club Polk rules of engagement - a refresher Jon_S April 2013 edited April 2013 in The Clubhouse I've had a few complaints come in recently about CP members straying from the forum rules. This is a reminder that the rules I've pasted below apply to everyone on CP and they will be enforced if they are repeatedly ignored. Please take a moment to refresh your memory on what Club Polk's rules of engagement are and start to play nice from here on out. Thanks, Jon VERY IMPORTANT... If you have a problem with another member's comments in a posted thread, DO NOT respond with any further comments that will aggravate the situation. Members have two options of recourse.... Email the moderators, directing them to the individual and thread that the problem occurs in. Resolve the problem between both of you via PERSONAL email. Reacting to a hostile post with more hostility puts YOU in jeopardy, and risks your account from being deleted. To be objective and fair about situations where forum members are attacking each other, BOTH members' accounts will be removed from our forum (and no, we don't care who started it). Polk's Warning System... The warning system is in place to ensure that the peace is kept. The offenses are as follows: 1st Offense: A private warning sent via PM 2st Offense: A public warning issued and the closing of the thread 3nd Offense: A 7 Day suspension from posting privileges 4th Offense: A 30 Day suspension from posting privileges 5th Offense: A LIFETIME BAN The warnings have a one year shelf life. They will expire 1 year from the date of the initial warning. *Polk Moderators can decide to skip the minor warnings and go directly to the lifetime ban based on severity of the offense. 1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed. 2) Trolling - members who make a conscious effort to inflame or irritate others will be subject to warnings and/or bans. 3) The discussion of politics and religion is irrelevant to good audio and is, therefore, not allowed on this forum. 4) Pornography and violent images are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives. Duh. 5) No baiting or fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. 6) No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be warned and/or banned 7) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it. 8) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. The truth is that the world needs people like us to show them the way to great audio. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage the next generation of audiophiles. You dont want to be the last audiophile, do you? 9) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.
  10. No fat thumbs, me hit "send" too soon It is also referenced in this article I previously linked to: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/walter-becker-steely-dan-elusive-genius-by-rob-sheffield-w501082 Farewell, Walter Becker: Remembering the Elusive Genius of Steely Dan He always knew how to make loserdom sound mythic Walter Becker of Steely Dan performing April 10th, 2015 at Coachella. Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic By Rob Sheffield 4 hours ago Most fans heard him talk for the first time in the 1999 VH1 Classic Albums doc about the making of Aja – a TV moment every bit as classic as Aja. It changed the public perception of Steely Dan as drastically as Beyond The Lighted Stage changed the perception of Rush, introducing Becker as the mischievously wry professor that live audiences would come to cherish over the years. For longtime fans who grew up seeing Fagen and Becker as silent recluses, it was a shock to hear them trade banter worthy of Statler and Waldorf. In the studio, they play back the "Peg" guitar solos just to heckle them. ("Hawaiian." "Yeah, that's kind of, uh, Polynesian.") They isolate Michael McDonald's backup vocals just to snicker at him: "Sorry, Mike." (McDonald was so declassé in 1999 that his voice was the punch line at the end of the South Park movie.) Fagen mocks his own "Deacon Blues" vocal: "Those days when I was singing like Jerry Lewis. Remember that?" Becker nods. "Yeah, that was a very fertile period for you."
  11. I think that's right with the possible exception of Jim Gordon. The number of takes they would also demand was pretty legendary as well.
  12. There are a lot of folks in that camp. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/walter-becker-steely-dan-elusive-genius-by-rob-sheffield-w501082 Can you pick just one?
  13. If you could only have one Steely Dan album which one would it be? If you have a favorite version of the album, which one is it. I'm struggling between Gaucho and Aja at the moment. Edit: No compilation, "Best of" or box sets allowed.
  14. No sex? Now that's just going too dang far! Wait, did you mean gender?
  15. I did and see that now after your clarification. My appologies. That is precisely why I used the term "group." As you have aptly pointed out elsewhere, it was not all, at not at all times. Key point, stated way better than my feable attempts. I think (total assumption on my part) that it carried over from the culture in the original BS section that lasted for several years. When individuals within the group raised a concern, my view as an outsider, was that there was significant pushback from the group. The point of all of this is that if there is no self-moderation, or outside moderation, in this forum the same result could happen. I plan, in conjunction with my fellow moderators, to do what is reasonably necessary to prevent that from happening. My preference would be to never have to do anything as a moderator. Never have to remind people about off limit topics, never have to respond to violation reports, never have to referee personal disputes between two members and a whole host of other things that have to be dealt with. However, history tells me that it will be necessary from time to time, and whatever decision is made will not please all of the people all of the time. I do known we will try our best.
