  1. Holly Cow Kaiser, Those are some cute boys. (I'm guessing they take after their mother, or the UPS driver?) Edit: Picky beat me to it, but I had an alternate explaniation, JK of course. You better be prepared to having to deal with some real mad daughter's fathers in about 10 or 11 years. You are really going to have your hands full and girls are going to be calling at all hours of the night. You might as well put in a second phone line and get them each their own little cell phone now so that you will be able to use your home phone. Travis
  2. No way he is going to move off of there without a fight.
  3. Dang, They were right, I would be happy with the just the dog food at your house. I printed it out for my wife and she said real easy and it going to give it a try. Do you think that the organic part has anything to do with it? Ok, back to the Jubs, Travis
  4. Polvo, (Love that resturant by the way) To post picks, hit reply, use far right slide bar to go to top of page, click on options, then click on file attachement, then you just find where your photo is, click on it. One photo per post, more advanced useres then I know how to string two or three together, but I can only do one per post. If you have trouble let me know, you can email them to me, and I can post them for you. Travis
  5. I'm convinced that Mark puts something in or on all of his products on purpose that makes cats high. Anytime something arrives from Ferndale I cannot keep my cat away from it. I have to practily fight him off the box, and when it's opened he is all over the equipment and I have to fight him back to get to it. Mark, are you buying recycled boxes from Humbolt County? Congratulations on your pCats Jeff, looking forward to the review and some photos. Travis
  6. Man, Y'all are mean. Wow, I hope I don't ever make Trey or the rest y'all mad. And on Good Friday no less. I have not had the pleasure, so I can't comment on him, but he can't be too brite if he left Texas for Ark. I am looking forward to meeting him, which will be soon, so I will quit while I'm ahead. AMY: I sure hope this you do this in a typical Roast format, where Roy gets the last word and then you lock the thread. Travis
  7. Arky, Either is fine with me, I agree, let Roy decide what is best for him, Sat. if possible, but not required. It Tubes-N-Horns is serious he can let us know if either weekend will work as well. I would enjoy the company on the drive up there. If he can't go, maybe Seadog, JWC or other DFW member will want to hitch a ride. Luther may want to go, not sure what Doc in Waco is up to. I also need to check with Coytee if he is going to be around either weekend to see if I really can come over. Travis Travis, So you are going to Hope, or to Coytee's, or both? You mentioned driving together so that may not work. Austin is slightly out of my way anyhow. I go due north on US 59. I am interested in this. My Mon lives 30 miles from Hope, so she would be very interested (in my coming) as well [Y] Rick RIck, This this will just be a trip to Hope and back. Austin is out of your way, but we can split the driving from Austin, and we can take my car from here. Send me an email. Does one weekend work better for you? Travis
  8. If you are serious about a visit as opposed to just funning around (realize I'm about 11/12 hour drive from Hope), you are certainly welcome. I have two spare bedrooms (one with trundle bed) if that helps to know... also...we have a .0004783053 star hotel in town [:$] if that makes anyone more comfortable. I live about 12 miles from this junction. As for timing.... I currently know of nothing that the wife has in mind that would cause any issues with your timing. If you do drive this far (flying will change this comment), I'd ask if you are going to Indy and if so, are you driving?... you could make the trip up a day or so prior to driving to Indy and we could go up together? (just a radical idea to perhaps blend a couple events into a single road trip). Flying obviouisly changes some logic there. If you drive, you could swing through here, visit, stay over on way up and on the way back. Give you a chance to go to Indy with the Jube experience immediately behind you. Just ideas for the melting pot. Coytee, I don't know what I was thinking, I thought I had plotted your place from mine once on mapquest and it did not seem tha far. I will have to make two trips and I will get with you via email on when a good time would be. Travis
  9. Well , thanks for getting the debris off but who's eyes are those ? Kinda freaky looking , like a brother or someone else that looks like me . I took that pic during tropical storm Ernesto last year . The water was all churned up and sea grass and all kinds of stuff was in the water . Also fried my camera exposing it to the blowing rain . I was wondering though if you could help me out with this bruise I received a couple hours later when the wind switched offshore . This incident ended my day . Oh yeah , The culprit looked something like this only meaner . Sunburn, You are really starting to make me mad. First photos of the boards. Now a photo of a double breaking wave that you can take either left or right and you just know it going to produce pumping barrels. Travis
  10. Very nice Kevin. I had a bunch of photos taken when I was at the supreme court, with Kennedy who I know pretty well, and Ginsberg who I met for the first time. But nothing came out unfortunately. I like yours, came out great. Travis

  12. Roy, I still am very interested in seeing if there are any curves with Jubs on a flat wall and what they read. Mine would be on a 21' wall, one could go in a corner on the left, and the right would be 15' from the left with no corner. No room for false corner for that right speaker, so Khorns are out. Trey is getting me really jazzed up about LS2's and top-o-the-line subs. Another Austin forum member just had his LS2's arrive and he is getting things set up. So I am trying to get a handle on what I would be losing without a corner. Travis
  13. no ribs required....just come on down and lunch will be on me..... have a blessed night, roy Arky, When do you want to go, I will meet you up there. You still have to bring the Ribs, I'll bring the Sausage, and if TubesNHorns can come will have brisket. Let's do it on a Sat., we can have the whole place to ourselves and go nuts in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, it does not matter to me when we do it, any day is fine if I have enough notice, Fri. would be best. I just figure since you are going for a Jub demo, and I want a Jub demo, we might as well try and do it at the same time so we don't wear Roy out. I will buy lunch to pay back Roy for his hospitality and Arky for the idea. Travis
  14. Congratulations on the speakers, new, and the sale. I remember now about the phone conversation, I can't wait to see you set up. Does not matter to me the size or location of the home, as long as it has Klipsch and beer or bourbon. Actually, I will bring some along. While you are getting things set up I hope you will make it over sometime for a listen and a looksee at what I have going on. I would really appreciate you thoughts given that you have had the Khorns and now have LS's. Travis
  15. Actually, it was Arky who said he was going to head to Hope this summer with some ribs to try and bribe Roy into a listen of the Jubs. I suggested to Arky that he allow me to join him and that I would bring up a bunch of sausage in order to make it more worth while for Roy to "invite" us on up. So far Arky has not responded to my self invitation offer, possibly because he wants Roy, the Jubs, and the demo room all to himself. Meanwhile, Tubes-N-Horns is adding brisket to the mix to make Roy an offer he can't refuse. From there I would like to head over to Coytee's place to listen to his set up. So as far as rib recipies, you will have to ask Arky. However, I can put you on to some great tasting sausage. Dang, now I am dying for a Chicago style hot dog with radioactive green relish. Travis
  16. Arky, Let me know when your are going and I will bring an ice chest of sausage to throw in with your ribs (and anything else Roy likes to eat). (I'm serious) Travis Can I tag along? I'll take brisket; already smoked....by me....yum! I don't know what Arky's plans were, but as far as I am concerned, heck yeah, bring the beef. Then we can head over to Coytee's place to listen to his set up, but I think we can apease him with alcohol, which is a good thing because I think we will be totally out of food. Travis
  17. Arky, Let me know when your are going and I will bring an ice chest of sausage to throw in with your ribs (and anything else Roy likes to eat). (I'm serious) Travis
  18. I think I am going to be going the same route as you rmlowz. Trey loves his LSII with Sub set up and I am looking into that right now. Unbelievable I might have a way to listen to La Scala II right here in Austin, hint hint. Travis
  19. Tigerman, Welcome, nice to see your posts on reel to reel. I have about 200 prerecorded reel to reel tapes, and they are great. I have 8 2-track master tapesI have bought from different sources. These were either made to go to the record production facility or reel to reel duplication facility. It is unbelievable the number of "master" tapes that have made there way out into the market place. I have an Al Green Quad tape, that is of no use to me since I don't have a quad deck. Very interesting package and concept. Glad to see your post, Travis
  20. Roy, I am glad you posted on the issue of the corner. There was a thread recently, I think that Coytee posted about a brand new forum member who got Jub's, in Washington State I believe, that you helped get set up. Anyhoo, he mentioned that he pulled the speakers out from the corners abit and got some better sound. I asked for far he and Coytee had their speakers of the the corner and it was just a little bit, but they said the speaker was a corner speaker with a loss of bass response if they were forward facing. They suggested I contact you becasue you would know what the differense in response would be. So, since you mentioned that they do not need to be in a corner, and folks swear you have done testing on this, what, if any low end would I lose if had them forward facing? Travis EDIT: Roy, here way my question and the response I got from Coytee dwilawyer: How far are you running these speakers from the side wall and out from the back wall. I read with interest Bob's comments about losing the "one note" effect when he brought them out from the wall. Just wondering how much room these baby's need to breathe. Edit: I forgot these were corner loaded until I read through the rest of the threads and so the great photos. How much low end do you lose if they are on a wall but no corner? Coytee: My understanding from BerryBoy is they can be up to about 10" from each wall with zero negative effect. I have a thick plug (from my solid state amp) going into the wall socket and it just happens to FORCE me to scoot my right speaker from the wall. I simply moved the left one to approximate the right one so they'd look more balanced. As for how much you might lose, that might be a Roy question. They are made with a flat back so they CAN be pressed flat against a back wall. I think Bob was suffering from "one note" during his break in only. I think he's since made comment that his earlier comments (one note) were out of line once his woofers broke in. If you go back and read exactly what he said, you will see that he too is essentially saying that the Jubilees step all over the Khorns in all departments.
  21. Now that is a sight for sore eyes. Wowza. Can't wait to hear your thoughts, Travis
