  1. Up till I googled Digital Ear, I thought you were talking about Louisiana, not Los Angeles. I was going to offer a listen as I'm right next to LA. (the state).
  2. I may have missed it, where is home? BTW, when you go demo a D2, you'll most likely hear them through Paradigm speakers. They're in the same family. Most dealers that carry Anthem carry Paradigm.
  3. I can say however that Anthem works great in a 2 channel set up even though my D2 isn't set up that way. I've got an Anthem preamp in my 2 channel rig with my Lascalas and absolutely love it.
  4. Nope, he's got his 2 channel and HT seperate.
  5. I went from the top of the line H/K to the D2 and never looked back. It's a phenomonal piece of equipment. It's never once in roughly 4 years ever done anything other than what it was supposed to. Is it that much better than an Integra or NAD, I'm the wrong person to ask. Before I'd give that opinion, I'd have to have had one at my house hooked up to the same gear as the D2. The ARC (Anthem Room Correction) is tremendous. My living room is a terrible place for sound reproduction due to the shape and the wall I've got to put my HT on. I've got bass traps and acoustic panels to help but nothing tamed the room like ARC. I don't do any 2 channel listening in that room but forum member MikeLindsey uses his D2 for HT and 2 channel I believe. You might PM him. I'll try to ping him in the heading. Carl
  6. [Y] Great news. Get all the sleep you can now while you still can!!
  7. The cheapest way to get the H3 sound is to spend about 300/speaker and upgrade your H2's!

  9. Welcome to the forum. PL Premium works well.
  10. I used to have a Newfoundland "Schultz" that loved corn also. He'd eat the corn AND the cob. We'd always have to cook an ear just for him when we made corn on the cob.
  11. Brand or link? (So am I) Dave Typically when you make a repair, you layer resin and mat. Considering that you already have a structure that you want to protect (and not create), I would think that all you would need to do is mix the 2 part resin together and paint it on the speakers. You can sand and paint as required. Most all auto parts stores and hardware stores carry it. I don't have a speaker coating link as it's just a thought however, I know it's waterproof.
  12. Unless you want 3D, there's no need in getting anything more than HDMI 1.1, you're not missing out on the new sound formats. As long as your player can do the decoding, you're good to go. Don't forget to look at offerings from NAD.
  13. God I hope not cause I go through a LOT of it. Another one of my "favorite" things is grilled cheese sandwiches. Years ago I stopped using butter and started brushing olive oil on the bread prior to cooking. Good flavor and better for you than butter. OK... That's what I tell myself any way. Oh man, I gotta try that. I LOVE me some olive oil. We buy it in the gallon can. There's nothing better smelling than chopped garlic frying in olive oil. Just the thought of it gets me salivating [].
  14. When it has to cover nearly 4 octaves in the mean time? It isn't like that cone is scrambling to just get by down there. It's loafing along, EQ puts the spurs to it. At the end of the day, TO ME, it's still a 15" bass cabinet with sub par extension.
  15. To me, that fact is misleading. sure, there are two 15" drivers, but how many square inches are the slots they fire through? Whether or not they fire through a slot they still displace the same amount of air. Yes, technically you are correct, however when I think of the bass possible from two 15" drivers, the Lascala's seem anemic. 104dB at 1watt? I thought we were talking about extension, not efficiency. A 15" driver in a box that's down 4 dB @54 Hz is not all that impressive to me.

  17. [^] Happy Birthday Amy!!
  18. To me, that fact is misleading. sure, there are two 15" drivers, but how many square inches are the slots they fire through? If you're giving them boost in the 30-60 Hz region, what did you do to your cabs to reduce resonation? I couldn't figure out a way to stop mine without altering the stock cabs, so I cross them over at 70 Hz and use a horn loaded sub. I'll admit that I've never tried EQ, but to my ears, the stock cabs and drivers are sufficiently lacking in bass to warrant a sub.
  19. OT Did you get any rain this morning Dave? It came down like gangbusters here.
  20. I certainly would, and have in the past. I really don't care what a company's reputation is when I'm trying to get an issue resolved. The only thing that matters is how they try to resolve MY problem.
  21. All I saw on a search was a roof coating and some sort of fabric by that name. Is there something else? This still kills me. Hard to believe such a dearth of products in this area. Dave DURATEX EDIT, I think I've seen quantities as small as a pint offered, but those are most likely for touch up. The 1 gallon size is the most popular I believe.
