  1. Thank you Mr. Timbly.... Your reply answered my question TB....play nice....even you started somewhere.
  2. He is supposed to be coming out this summer with a 60wpc amp to take place of the TA-30.... Did you buy your Redgum online?
  3. Does anyone know if the Unico SE would be a bad mate to the RF'7's for two channel listening ? Could it possibly be better than other S.S gear or even come close to sounding good with this particular speaker? I'm not going to make any drastic changes soon but this integrated "looks" interesting.
  4. When I play an SACD on my Denon universal player the one most noticable thing other than overall clarity is the quieter background.
  5. Since you didn't have to pay tax it might be a good deal. Just don't tell Uncle Sam and you should be alright. ............WoW!
  6. Boy, those amps looks nice....... Now if Klipsch would chip in for a new amp with every purchase of their RF7 speakers, I would jump on those QuickSilvers in a minute.....lol.
  7. Hi Edwin, I was trying to audition the RB 75's but the local dealer doesnt carry much in stock. It was a tough decision with the 7's since I've never heard them with anything but a reciever at the dealer. I am kicking around the idea of using two stereo amps. One is biased high in class A and that one would be for the tweeters. On the other hand being able to use tubes somewhere sound like fun.
  8. Hello Max, It isnt a rip off at all......that cable was probably designed to go with a million dollars worth of gear. Besides the packaging can be used as a trash can for the wrinkled cash in your pocket.
  9. The kids at night tagged a mag light from the glovebox one time. Man, I never dreamed of doing stuff like that when I was a kid or the parents would "hang" me.
  10. Speaking of (Dubuque Iowa), I still have relatives there and my dads side of the family goes waaaaaaaaaaaay back in that town Really a cool river town but I like Galena better although I've not been there in 20 years.
  11. My Uncle bought one and did not like it at all. He couldnt hear it very well without the tone controls, like what's on the Sony. .....lol...lol...lol...It did look like the inside of someones stomach. I have heard the larger more expensive model and it sounded like a plastic boombox.
  12. Thanks Rick, You wouldnt believe how many other speakers I have been looking into. Also the Klipsch seem to be very flexible with amplification.
  13. Congratulations.......you deserve that rest now.
  14. I must agree about that Pathos being a fine looking amp....
  15. I have been getting pretty tired of the Paradigm Studio 40's metal tweeter and boxy sound so I traded them in for a pair of Cherry RF7's. Boy oh boy what a difference, just fine with plenty of bass right out of the box and getting better as time passes. These things are imaging monsters much to my suprise. No flaws or cheap workmanship of any kind with these speakers, AT ALL. Also been thinking about installing some hefty spikes on the bottom without the outrigger feet although what came with the speakers have a nice shape to them and the supplied spikes are very stout. The grill is perfect, has a nice arch and the black color is a nice contrast against the cherry. I say great "big" bang for the buck. Happy Memorial Day everyone.
  16. ......but what if you never have a larger place? The screen door effect is obvious when sitting too close on some types of screens. If it was me I would go for the biggest possible. ................edited for clarification............
  17. Oh man, Looks nice and 35 watts class A seems good. One finally sold on Audiogon for 1800. Price isn't too outrageous like some other brands.
  18. Thats the scariest monster I have ever seen!......the green guy is a little odd too.
  19. Hi my name is Pat, Back in 92' or whenever I bought a pair of beautiful "high end" 4.2's. After having the crossovers reworked and finding an old 125 watt amp in very good condition things have been pretty good. Lately I cant get out of my head the desire to own a pair of RF7's so two rooms will have decent music. Does this have anything to do with being drawn to the "dark side".....lol.....?
  20. So how do they sound with the Exposure? Have (YOU) tried anything else to power them yet? I'm curious.
  21. Just found out the RVX 54 is not stocked by my dealer so I guess an outright purchase would be necessary for a demo. Still not sure on the price....forgot to ask about that one.
  22. Seriously, My wife's cousin is or used to be in Amway. People used to come to his garage to pick Amway stuff up. He is also a commercial airline pilot and owns several rental properties in a college town. I would guess his steady job as a pilot is his main source of dough, not sure where Amway fits into the scheme of things. Goodluck........ Hey, Beavis........errrrrr, Rich & Jay look like real honest guys..
  23. Deon, I'm going to try to get a listen to the rvx54 at my local dealer. I can not find much information about them other than what is on the Klipsch website. IMO, they look absoloutely killer and would fit in the smaller living spaces much like my own. If you have time and since you like them can you tell me if those would be the speakers for you for Home Theatre or Music or both? ...........Thank You for your time.......Pat Walt,...are you using them for Home Theatre use only?
