  1. Looks like our own Joe is after those bad boys!
  2. Hate to see that, but I will say one thing . Out of all the tears buying and selling you have a MUCH better chance of getting paid with FedEx than with UPS. In fact I had a independent claim gut come out tomy house to look at a destroyed 4,000.00 mixing board. He had worked for all the major shippers in the last 25 years and told me fedex will pay out 95% of the time and UPs is almost the oppisite. Just my personal experiance.

  6. A question for the moderators. We can go back and edit everything but the subject title. Is there a way we can do this. That would be nice. Thank you. Just my 2 cents.
  7. I meant cool with me.My daughter turned 9 yesterday and she wanted to go to Chuck E cheese. "Damn Rat" I thought. Over priced pizza and once you spend 100 buck in tokens you get enough tickets to buy a freakin spider ring or pencil. Oh well whatever makes her happy. Well after about 5 minutes in I look up thinking the music sounded clean and what do I see. Ha!
  8. seti, That's pretty cool how your GF's ears knew enough to notice the tube change. Right on! fini BTW I have not heard becks new album. I'll have to check it out. I honestly was never a huge fan but theres a lot of production in that album.I just noticed you asked me that way back at the begining of the thread.

I am sitting here sort of auditioning my Cornwalls and Klipshorns, unfortunately with my sandby SS amp, listening to the Allison Brown Quartet CD 'Replay.' With the Cornwalls, it weems as thought the speakers have vanished, but when I switch to the horns, I definitely hear the music as a coming from the left and right channels. I am back against the wall of a 24 x 13 room, and the speakers are on the long wall. The horns in the corners and the cornwalls just inside them, slightly toed in. I am thinking that the dimensions of the room just aren't very good for the horns. any opinions? ---------------- Hey smuttynose, Well my room is 22x20 and I'm sitting around 4 feet from the rear wall, and the horns are on the 22ft wall. They are perfect corners. I defintly get left and right but I can definatly get great imaging at center and have great depth also. I can almost hear at times for instance the singer and bassist in the center but the singer in front of the bassist. I may be weird but that's what I hear. Last night with Bon Marley there was a guy hitting a wood block on the left side between far left and center. The guitarist was playing in the excact same spot but seemed to be a few feet in front of the person hitting the wooden block. Call me crazy! LOL!

It's the only one I own, but folks have compared it to Odelay. ---------------- fini Unfourtanatly my wife does not really care to much about my audio passion. I've tried and she'll say yeah it sounds good and then walks away. Oh well at least she does'nt try to stop me from doing my thing. I thank her for that.
  11. Since I got my Khorns last Thursday Ive had some music going through them constantly since they have been stored away for the last 2 years. Last night was my first time to sit down as long as I wanted without any bothers.I was Going back and listening to things I have not heard in a while. The Klipschorns with the tubes seem to be nothing short of pure magic in my room! I do not think I've heard so many layers to Beck's "Odelay" album ever! Between Beck and Bob Marley's album "Legend" I was in pure heaven last night!
  12. Not sure where he lives but he's shipping from Glendora, CA 91741?
  13. HA! Cool video! Nicely done.
  14. Those shorthorns look amazing considering their age. Man oh Man! There's no way I could justify another round trip to the Bay area again! LOL!
  15. Parrot don't be a smarty pants everyone knows dogs use flea powder too.!
  16. Thanks guys. Ben Ive been watching a pair of those Cunningham's now for a few days.

  18. I wanted to wish my wife a happy anniversary. She has endured 14 years (12 married) of me and my BS. The constant changing my mind and buying the same amp twice or selling speakers only to buy them again a year later, or driving 8 hours to get some more speakers, as if 4 pair were not enough. I love her as she allows me to be me. So for that thank you to my wife. Steak and lobster tonight. And mabye....... P.S. Man it's gonna be tough not wanting to go into my room tonight and fire up the Khorns and tubes.
  19. Hey Daddy Dee the cd is The girl in the other room. She can play and she's very nice on the eyes also!
  20. Hi scotto525 I was using the WPA3.5 Mono Block 2A3 single-ended power amplifiers. The Khorns were in corners 20 ft apart where the cornwall used to be about 14 ft apart ,and around 2ft from the front wall and just slightly toed in mabye 10 degrees or so.With the Cornwalls I used to set around 30 inches from the rear wall and now Ive found that Ive moved up to around 48 inches from the rear wall with the Khorns.
  21. Ok I'll do my best as I know what I like but sometimrs it's hard to describe, without sounding to cliche.... you know " the blacks were blacker" and such. My normal conrad johnson pre is out of comission right now so I pulled out a yahmaha. I used and old Onkyo cd player I have. Regular monster connects and monster wire speaker cable. Nothing fancy. Warmed everything up a bit then put on a favorite cd featuring Diana Krall. I know this cd in and out. Well my cornwalls always gave great imaging wich I still have but the stage is BIGGER and WIDER now! On one of the tracks the guitarist seems like he's stepped up a foot of two from where he was with the Corwalls. The plucking of the stand up bass also seems like at times I can hear the strings buzzing on neck more than before. Granted the Wright amps are also new to the mix that I did not have with the Cornwalls but so far I'm definatly enjoying the combo. Also keeping in mind the front end cd player and pre are not the greatest either. I did not want to disturb my main cd untill I heard the amps and speakers first. Over time I'll ad a piece at a time and see what happens. Oh well enough rambling.
  22. Hey Jordan, I live about 30 minutes south of Fresno. And you?
