  1. But if you have $800 to spend I don't think you could do any better than the Denon 2910. It is $699 at Crutchfield.
  2. I have the Sony DVP-NS775V single disc DVD/SACD player. I paid $129 for it at Circuit City about 6 months ago and I am VERY IMPRESSED with the audio/video quality of this unit especailly at the price point! I have it in my bedroom system with the 5.1 outs going to my Promedia Ultra 5.1's and I couldn't ask for more for a bedroom HT/music system.
  3. I picked this up Friday and listened to it Saturday night. I enjoyed it very much, however I really did miss the presence of Don Felder in the lineup. I don't know yet if I prefer Farewell or HFO. I like the sound and arrangements of some songs better on HFO and some on Farewell. Anyhow just my opinion but this disc is definately a must have for Eagles fans!!
  4. Hey luvdrummin' - if you like Lee Ann Womack's Greatest Hits you should check it out on SACD!! I have had it for a couple of months and absolutly love it! The content is great and the surround mix is fantastic. Definitly one of my favorite SACD's to date!

    Meet The Fockers

I loved the baby! Especially the way he says his first word. Those who have seen the movie know what I am talking about but I won't spoil it for those who haven't.
  6. Which sounds better to you HFO or Farewell? I plan on purchasing Farewell this Friday but just curious how the sound compares to HFO. Too bad about BB discontinuing SACD/DVD audio. I am a big fan of those formats. Oh well maybe we can get some discs at closeout prices!
  7. I have a Samsung DVD-R4000 DVD recorder/player and I am very happy with its overall performance, including playback of pre-recorded DVD's.
  8. I totally agree!! My biggest hero's are the men who served in WWII. Without them who knows what this country would be like today. I watched my favorite movie last night " Saving Private Ryan " as I do every Memorial Day! I also love Band Of Brothers.
  9. I bought this DVD today at Best Buy as I have been a fan of hers for a long time. It was recorded from Austin City Limits on 12/05/98 about the time of her Car Wheels On A Gravel Road CD release. She does songs from that CD plus some great older stuff. It has DD and DTS surround tracks. I watched it awhile ago and all I can say is wow!! The sound quality is great especially in DTS. Anyone who is a fan of hers or anyone who appreciates great Americana music should definitly check this out!
  10. You certainly can't go wrong there!! Congrats and enjoy!
  11. I recently got the Bob Dylan Limited Edition SACD Boxed Set and I am impressed with the sound quality of the 5 discs I have listened to so far!
  12. I personally like Home Theater the best. Stereophile's Guide to Home Theater and Sound & Vision are also good.
  13. I agree the front panel is not very attractive!!
  14. You can find out more on the 588 on the Pioneer website.
  15. Saw this in the new products section of the new issue of Sound and Vision magazine.
  16. Or perhaps the Sony DVP-NS975V if you don't care about DVA Audio and want HDMI connection.
  17. It is also available in either black OR silver!
  18. My vote would be for the Onkyo DV-SP502 for $299. It plays DVD Audio/SACD's and has a 12 bit video chip.
  19. To add to that here is NOT an S-Video input on the 2.1's. It looks like one but it is not. The cable from the control pod with the S-Video like end goes to the back of the sub. It controls the volume of the system and the sub. Enjoy your speakers they are great. I owned them until I upgraded to the 5.1 Ultras.
  20. All you have to do is hook up the mini plug cable from the control pod to the headphone out on your laptop.
  21. I am also thinking about buying the PB-10.
  22. Gotta check that one out! I have failer and like it very much!

    Elektra

Anyone have/seen this DVD yet? If so how is the movie/picture and sound quality? I love Jennifer Garner and think she is sooo sexy in that leather outfit!!!
  24. What would you choose and why? I have heard alot of good things about HK and mostly good things about the Pioneer 1014. The 1015 is the new model. Both can be had for about the same money. Would be used for 50% HT and 50% music. Would be used with RB-25 front, surround, and surround back channels and RC 25 center and RW10. Music sound quality a little more important to me. Thanks!
