  1. i was looking up info on hi-def camcorders and found this its always good when your partying with wood the worlds first wood cone driver!! the reasoning behind this is something to the effect that because all the worlds greatest instruments are made of wood. so why not a wood speaker cone?? whoda thunkit jay
  2. i have a sony vplhw12htthat ive had up for a year and a half. when we first pit it up we were trapped in the ht room for months and the i dwindled off some . we still watch almost ever day and have 1500 hours in the bulb. bulb life is 3000 hours. a new bulb is $300 would i go back? no way. do we still watch the 65 inch rptv upstairs, sure. jay

Actually the ad should have read that these are covered in imitation granite laminate rather than "beautiful granite veneer", as that is what they are. Frzninvt's visually mismatched wood package would be, without a doubt, better looking... and have a better resale value. Just my 2¢... Rob ---------------- i will agree with you that the black wouldnt be as good looking as the wood. walnut oil with cane grills would be perfect but mrs tko likes the look of the black "granite" and thats what sold her on the idea. my ht room is all black(except the screen) carpet/walls ect. also im hopeing the resale issue will help keep the price down. if i win them i would own them untill i die jay

The $500 he's assessing the buyer seems way below cost and I'd be concerned that he'd cut corners when palletizing, etc. ............................................................... if i win them, contingent on an in person inspection i will pick them up myself ............................................................... Chas, $6500 for your whole rig? You have to be kidding. $10K is more like it. I can't see you parting with your stuff, anyway. You've gone through too much to get them there ... together. ............................................................... i dont see you getting rid of your stuff either. besides the only reason that the mrs didnt balk is that they have that groovy black veneer(my ht room is all black) and that they all match jay
  6. so ... i asked the wife about my ....thing and she didnt say no!!!! i told her that we could sell off the speakers we have now.... and she asked if we couldnt move them upstairs!!!! (around a 65 inch sony 4/3 set) fingers crossed jay

    Wahoo!

the video switching in the dennon should be up to the task of component video. you have already mentioned an issue with interconnect lengths. id run the component from the dvd/cable/sat box to the dennon and run one long set to tv. less clutter less cash output for the cables and you wont have to change sources twice( the tv and the reciever) every time you change sources. jay

    Wahoo!

do you have a db meter?? if not you NEED one follow the set up menue in the reciever things like distance from the sweet spot for each channel ect use the db meter to set your levels ( you can do this by ear but it wont sound as good as it could) sounds like you'll have a nice sounding system if something doesn't sound right ask questions here someone will know the answer good luck jay
  20. have you reset your speaker levels get out that db meter and see how much adding that rear channel changed your set up jay
  21. dean i thought about that and covered the mid/high drivers. the upper mid bass lower midrange sounds comeing out of the woofer were way muddy. would a pair of your crossovers fix this? it has to effect the overall sound of the cornwalls thanks jay
