  1. Not necessarily a different unit, but maybe an amp to take some of the load off your receiver. Look at my setup in my sig................. If you decide to take this route, definitely look at used stuff. theres a ton of stuff on my local C list right now; for dirt cheap!!!
  2. I was blown away by the difference when I got my HK amp hooked up. With both music and HT!
  3. Make sure you don't have any speaker wires touching where they're plugged in at. This happens a lot actually. You may have too much exposed wire where they plug into your receiver. There's not much room back there, so it's not a hard thing to do.........
  4. YES! Sub placement most definitely matters! you want to try to get it in the front of the room. I used to have an apartment, and like you, had to put it in the back, next to the couch. I ended up rearranging the room to make room for the sub up front. But yes, its really important to have your sub in an ideal location. And corners will make subs sound louder, but not necessarily better. I don't recommend having your sub in a corner, or within 3 ft of one if possible......
  5. THX recommends using "dispersive" speakers as sides, and bookshelf, or direct firing speakers in the rear. I had a 7.1 system for a liittle while, and it sounded great set up like this. I had B2 rears....... http://www.thx.com/home/setup/speakers/71.html
  6. Just read the review in HT magazine on this receiver. Long story short, they said it kicks some serious *** in all catagories!
  7. Yes, it will work. But, keep in mind that the C2 is a far superior center to your previous one, so make sure you set the level, etc properly to accomodate the rest of your system. And you basically stole that center from BB! Congrats on such a good find
  8. we thank you,, generally speaking why cant all people be this polite and appreciative.. people here love this stuff, this is what they do.. this is a great site. Many good and helpful people. You dont even have to like audio to enjoy yourself here. Sorry I can not contribute to your soon to be totally out of this world system as I don't know much about this stuff and I need these guys here to asist me all the time. I'm still trying to figure out how to connect my vcr to tv Post pics when you can. I think clearly you are going to have the best home theatre in India. Post pics if you can when things arrive. Please dont be a stranger once all set up.. post lots... a green bar will follow I second what he said!!! [Y]
  9. To answer your initial question...... Yes, you will notice a difference. But like already suggested, and what I would personally do, is get a sub before an amp........
  10. I also have mine set to ON. I've never really used the standby mode.......
  11. Like I've said earlier in this thread. If you absolutely stuck on the 3 series, run a single B3 for center duty. Or............. you can run a C2 as a center; and like stated, you'll be fine doing this.
  12. I would never buy a 7000 reciever....I would invest in seperates....just 2 cents BerserkNitro: If you look closely at that receiver you will see that it is separates....sort of. Here's the back view showing the "separation": (I think I'd prefer separates at that price, too) I would go separates also, I was just blown away at the size, power of this thing...........

  14. Well, I took off all next week because originally Ray's sister was coming into town. No big deal. Now, after losing our family dog, my folks have decided that since I'm off, they want to come down also. I guess they could use a break after losing her though. I see a lot of fishing and drinking in my very near future! Our house is 1400 Sq ft, and we'll have 8 people sleeping here over the next week! It's going to be pretty tight! At least I'm off though........... I'm sure I'll be taking plenty of pix, so I'll keep you posted!
  15. Not a BD player, but man oh man, this thing is a beast!!! Sorry if I'm a little late on this one....... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/HomeEntertainment/AV-Receivers/EliteReceivers/ci.SC-09TX.Kuro
  16. http://bountii.com/product-816-pioneer-bdp-51fd-blu-ray.html?gclid=CIG63OLXj5kCFQZlswod4j2Lag If you get it at this price, (266) then why not get it? Just make sure it supports the same sound modes as your Sony does. I don't know about this particular player, but I've heard about a lot of Pioneer units not supporting DST HD................... Just what I"VE heard though.....
  17. Ya, this whole audio game can be pretty heart breaking [:'(] That sucks man......
  18. Refer to the subs in my sig. To make a long story short, you can totally make these two subs work well with each other. It is a time consuming task though. It took about 4 hours of me listening, and my gf turning knobs, adjusting levels, etc to make it work. (That's why I love her!) It very hard to dial them into each other because the sub 12 is very superior to the RW10. Anyway, once I got them dialed in, it sounded great! Don't bother asking me what my levels, settings are though, because EVERY room is different, and produces different sound. And about the phase, I have both subs set at 0............... So I say keep the subs you have, and just take the time to dial them in properly. Very.......... annoying task to say, but look at it like this. You don't have the hassle of selling any subs, or buying any more........ Let me/us know what your result is!
  19. If you are just stuck on using a 3 series speaker , run a single B3 as a center.......... Before you ask, yes you can do this. I've seen NUMEROUS setups where all 7 speakers were the same speaker.............. (like 7 B3's for example)
  20. WOW, what a hassle. So, I woke up this morning, and she had emailed me. She said it was fine to pay teh full rent on the 15th, but also to remember to send her the half rent for the first half of april. I had to break it down elementary style that I am paid, in full, right now until 15 March. And once I paid on the 15th, I would be paid up until the first of April, which is when I would need to pay the half month. She still didn't understand what I meant, so we talked on the phone, and she finally understood what I meant. To end this whole mess on a good note, she said it was fine to just pay the whole thing on the 15th. I had to read her, verbatum, what the lease said about paying rent, when it is/was due, etc............. OMG, you would never think something so small could turn into something SO big!
