  1. Michael, Thanks for all the informative posts. Just starting my Klipsch Journey. Hope to someday have as many Forte's as you have CW's. Congrats, and keep the great info comin....
  2. Holy new website batman! I just joined their forum, and I am member number 5! This site must have been up for less than a week!
  3. Ok, that is nothing short of insane! I heard on the news last night that the local police shut him down. Evidently the traffic jam caused the police to have trouble getting to an auto accident near his home. Here are the stats that the local news quoted last night. 30,000 lights, 3 months of work to hang and program. When you pull up to his house there is a sign in the lawn telling you where to tune your radio. The music plays on your car stereo as you watch. Everybody needs a hobby...I guess.
  4. Sorry...Sorry...Sorry...Grovel, grovel grovel....Joined the thread late....I won't do it again, I promise......[:'(][:$][]
  5. Sixes and Seven's...Robert Plant album was Shaken and Stirred,I think.... My turn... New Genre...should be pretty simple though... You could almost hear those prairie winds blowin' His saddle a creakin' 'neath his old faded jeans You could taste the dry dust from the trail he was ridin' As he sat there and painted those west Texas scenes
  6. I knew I would grind it to a halt...I'll give you the all the answer, and then I'll just play nice and watch from here on out... It's...Dr Heckyll and Mr Jive by Men at Work. Somebody else's turn...
  7. Phil Keaggy..former lead guitarist with "Glass Harp"...25+years as a solo artist, 40+ solo albums, now back with "Glass Harp" Don't skip over this guy...most underrated guitarist in the world IMHO. Anyway, a more mainstream lyric you seek? Try this...(hint--it's a band from my youth...early 80's) Not long now till the ultimate experiment He's breaking all the rules He wants to cure all matter of imbalance In this world of fools He locks the door and looks around nervously He knows there's no one there He drinks it down and waits for some reaction To all his work and care Hey, hey he fumbles for what to say He loves the world except for all the people
  8. Alright Colter, I won't make you guys suffer. My library of relatively obscure music could probably stump you guys for days...and most likely grind this thread to a halt...I won't do that...It is the Christmas season afterall[] It's not a chick band, and the song is actually pretty cool...very Beatlesque. It's "Stong Tower" from Phil Keaggy's 1988 Release "Find Me in These Fields"
  9. That was a tough one mate...my wife remembered it though. That's Spanish Train, from Spanish Trains and Other Stories, 1975 Chris De Burgh Here's another. It's a tuffy. I will give you most of the lyrics to the song...Here goes... Wrong thoughts and emotions Have blinded the eyes of faith Misguided devotion kept a pilgrim In dire straits Where does one go Where do you turn The guilt and fear Depression lurks Just beyond your back door Waiting for your Decision To live and learn Deep in the valley Caught a glimpse of the morning star If we could just reach you Get to know who you really are Where does one go Where do you turn There's a place A fortress high And an open door Waiting for your Reception When you arrive
  10. Maybe this will help. Klipsch did make a KSC C1... Here is the link http://www.klipsch.com/product/list.aspx?search=ksc
  11. I think it is probably about 8 feet by 2.5 feet., not inches. Look in the picture. It is mounted on a wall in his carport.
  12. Here you go...fresh on ebay in the last couple of hours...any guesses any how high this will go? Looks like it is probably right up your alley... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5838490958&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  13. The units have a PS2 keyboard input. It really isn't that hard to load the info. I have about 400 discs balanced between the 2, and it took about 2 hours to enter all the info. As far as a HTPC goes, don't you lose considerable sound quality, even ripping lossless? It's a nice thought in the future. I purchased my second 300 disc changer for 50 bucks on ebay, and paid about $200 for my first one 2 years ago...Storing all my Cd's in one place has been a real bonus.
  14. I have wondered about that...I have had my original unit for about 2 years and haven't had issues with it. I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed. (I only paid $50 bucks on ebay for the second unit...)
  15. My first receiver was a Kenwood...in the late 80's. They made decent car gear....and I wanted sound in my bedroom like a had in my Camaro. I agree with the others..sounds like clipping to me...get a better receiver, or, with that killer setup, give them what they really want...Top quality separates...
  16. The term "Man-Cave" has been bantered around here for a while to describe our various HT's. Well, today, in my local paper, is a comic, labeling the guys theater as a "Man Cave." Here it is...
  17. Hi guys. I picked up a second Sony 300 disc CD Changer for a song from ebay this week. My wifes first thought was that it was complete overkill. Why would I possibly want a 600disc changer? Then I showed her what you can do with two...No annoying track delay on random play (On random play, it can take as long as 20-25 secs for the Sony to put one disc back in the carousel, pick another and start playing again.) The second player gets the next track ready while it is idle. You can set the units to fade out/in between tracks, or just play each track with zero delay. My wife has long loved to just put the system on random play while she is working around the house, now she adores it!
  18. Soujnds interesting. I purchased the DVD remaster of that classic for my wife for Christmas last year. Topol's performance was absolutely perfect. You know that you nailed a role when every subsequent performance by every troupe from highschoolers to Broadway does their level best to emulate you, and every critic compares your performance to Topol's masterwork. Great movie for someone who has the machine to play it.
  19. These would be a great match for your 4.2's. There is no difference between the 2.2 and the 2.5. (Unlike other speakers in the KG line. The 2.2 did not change when Klipsch went to the Kg .5 line) I agree about these being a steal. 2.2's and 2.5's are a great bookshelf speak, and these come with the sought after matching stands as well. I wish I was in the market for another pair....
  20. Here's another Christmas reccomendation, (and another shameless Phil Keaggy plug []) Majesty and Wonder--Phil Keaggy and the London Philharmonic
  21. I showed up at CompUSA at midnight in my town. The lines weren't too bad. I am building a computer for my brother in law for Christmas. They had 200gig hard drives for 30 dollars and 400 watt power supplies for 5 dollars, and an internal DVD burner for 30 bucks, and an Athlon 64 motherboard/processor bundle for 99. I am building a pretty decent machine for less than 200 dollars. They were good enough sales to get me through the door...
  22. I agree about the denon website being next to worthless. I had an integrated amp that I sold recently. It was early 90's vintage, and there was absolutely no info about the amp on the site. No specs, no acrobat manual, nada. I did not have the original manual, and really had to scour the internet to find a few specs to post on the ebay ad. Annoying!
  23. I also have heard most of the KG line. Of all the series, the originals, the .2's and the .5's, I like the sound of the .2's the best. I agree with thebes...see if you can demo both of them. Your ears are the ones that will have to live with whatever you decide.
  24. Also, as you can see from the photo, my friend Jeremy is a very good photographer. The photos in his presentation Sunday night were phenomonal. Tremendous composition...some very moving shots.
