  1. 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Soft top in the summer, hard top in the winter. Hmmm... salty.
  2. I think it fills the room quite well. The sweet spot is very obvious and seated vs. standing does make a difference. For most of us all of these rooms are a compromise, the furniture, carpet, and drapes do tone down the brightness that this room has by a lot. But the lamp on the left and the chair on the right do interfere with a direct path to each speaker. The biggest drawback is sitting at 13 feet back the rear wall of the room is only a couple feet behind the listeners head. I believe that compromises the sound compared to having an larger open space behind. I have heard Khorns in a larger space and was very impressed especially when played at very loud volumes. There is no comparison when moving from our kitchen with HIII's or our basement with Chorus into this room (and those rooms sound great). No one wants to leave this room when the Khorns are playing. Smooth, dynamic, room filling, they really give the listener a relaxing and pleasant experience. You just want to get comfortable and turn them up. They have been a major factor in my not accomplishing all of the other things I should be doing around the house. Here is another angle - it only shows the right channel speaker but it does show the depth of the room.
  3. My comments in a previous thread on this subject: 24 feet corner to corner in a 2 channel set-up. The furthest back I can sit in the room is 13 feet, probably not perfect, but I'm not gonna knock down a wall... yet. Took this picture tonight with a 18 - 55 digital lens. I had to stand in the next room and shoot through the doorway, the fill flash can't quite cut it. - Jim http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/85510.aspx?PageIndex=1
  4. Well, I just bought one as well. I guess we'll know soon enough if there are issues. I'm guessing after 30+ years of personally being impressed by Klipsch quality, I probably won't be let down. EDIT: except for the quality of this stupid freakin' website. I mean what the hell, this is posted as several separate paragraphs, yet it shows up as one run-on mess, STILL.
  5. Dude, do you really have one of those? That looks sooo awesome! Doc, I wish. I'm guessing the pull start model would be a workout.
  6. OB, nothing wrong with getting plowed. Oh... wait.
  7. Incredible. Thank you very much. - Jim
  8. I hesitated to post this because not everyone here is happy with youtube posts, but I think this one is worth viewing for all the cynics out there, including myself. I usually think of Red Sox fans as being insufferable, but this is pretty cool. A man with autism, who was chosen to sing the national anthem, got a case of the giggles half way through. Listen to the crowd. I'm not making fun, I think this is a pretty nice job by the crowd. - Jim
  9. That's how I did ours. Brined the night before, on the charcoal Weber, with bacon covering the breast and drums. The bacon keeps the breast from overbrowning and helps to baste and adds to the drippings. The bacon is done well before the turkey is so you have to remove it after about an hour. You can add a second covering after the first if you need more. We then used the bacon in the grean beans and the roasted sweet potatoes. You can do this on grilled chicken too. Hmmm... nature's perfect food. Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon? Lisa: No. Homer: Ham? Lisa: No. Homer: Pork chops? Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal. Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.
  10. Yeah, it's a regular freakin' Norman Rockwell painting. All of you, please take care and be safe. - Jim
  11. Thanks. This is 10 minutes from my house, I think I'll pay them a visit. I'm curious as to what exactly the flyer says. - Jim
  12. dtel -- I'll copy your style, sorry if it doesn't read easily, the forum got "upgraded" ya know. WED: Wake up, work, brine turkey, eat anything but turkey, drink. THURS: Wake up, clean Weber, start fire, grill turkey, eat. Oh I forgot, drink. FRI: Wake up, take aspirin, work, go home, hair of the dog, eat leftovers. SAT: Wake up, long shower, mix thinset, lay tile around new fireplace, eat leftovers. Ummm... drink. SUN: Wake up, chase the little woman around the house, drink, watch football, annoy the teenagers that live with me. - Jim
  13. Do you have an address? I live just minutes from Palatine. - Jim
  14. www.oldradiomagic.com Let's see if this works... EDIT: If this is what you meant, flannj, the link works for me (I'm using IE7). OK I found the quote button. Let's try just a generic web address. www.amazon.com Will it show up as a link? I typed this as 5 separate sentences double spaced. Including my name. - Jim
  15. The above post did not show up anything like the way I typed it.
  16. jheis, I am using Safari, but I don't think that should be a problem. How did you quote me? I don't see a quote button anymore. I have posted in the DVD section and half of the post I typed did not show up. I typed this post as 6 sentences with a paragraph break between each sentence as well as between our names. Let's see how it shows up. - Jim
  17. Some improvements I don't mind the look and the spell check is improved. But some serious posting issues. The ability to post a web address as a link is not working still. More importantly posts are not formatting correctly, paragraphing and line breaks specifically. I typed this post as 7 lines including 1 paragraph break after the second line. Let's see how it shows up.
  18. The Lemonheads: Mrs. Robinson, very nice bass line. And just to derail this thread slightly I will continue with another CAKE reference: Long Skirt / Short Jacket -- Catchy bass line and a very funny video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd34vJohGXc&feature=related
  19. Maybe they are using your old Hong Kong address.
  20. Man, I should just give it up this year. I think I'm 0 - 4 on this forum so far this season. Maybe I should start following figure skating or synchronized swimming.
  21. Great call. The video is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10C68Gzd5GM DAGNABBIT! Since the forum was switched to this new format no matter what I do I CAN NOT get it to post a web address as a link.
