  1. I may stand to be corrected, but it's my assertion that Klipsch swapped and switched midrange drivers during the last few years of the Cornwall 1 (hence, the Cornwall 1.5 moniker)production. We could have 57's, 52's or 55's. All of them somewhat unique and quite possibly with different crossovers. One of them bolts on to the metal horn, one of them screws on, I believe. Bob is our man for all of this. He'll have both of my crossovers, shortly and maybe both mid-range drivers for a diaphragm job. Don't know what I have yet, though... Hope this helps, BS
  2. Hey Woodog, There really is a WooAudio, not kidding. It was a tube headphone thingy, probably enough power for the Khorns, though. Saw a Scott Integrated, L8TR.. BS Button
  3. Hey, I found a WooAudio 3 for sale? Anybody heard of these? BS
  4. You guys will not relent. I'm busy looking at tube possibilities on E-Bay. Anybody interested in an Adcom amp and pre-amp/tuner? Help a brother out, here! BS Headed towards 100 posts!
  5. Found out what tube power was all about tonight, for the first time. Thanks to Woodog, I now realize that I'm an amatuer. The 76 Khorns kicked in with ALK's to my amazement. Lowly solid state owner....
  6. Send this to Bob Crites. He can tell you; like me; what we may need, if any. Crites has an e-mail, but he's BEC on this forum; he's all over it. Let me know if you need any more help. My backs will be opened this week. BS
  7. Good question. You've got a musical driver year, like me. Serial "Y", I believe that's 83? From what I've been told, we need to remove the back first, find out what drivers were used and give somebody the XO network designation before anybody can really help. BS
  8. Yeah, he's the one that sold me the Denon 2900. Wonder why?
  9. I think that Klipsch, like B&W (Vinyl veneer) has gone a little mainstream to survive, I'm glad. They can still build to order the Heritage line. But B&W seems to dominate the high end masses as well. I've recently invited two buddies over for a listening session. Explaining the horns, efficiencies and the like, build quality, materials, workmanship. One of them is already shopping, for Klipsch, even if he buys something midphile in Klipsch, it's good, but it's Heritage that sold him. Save money on everything else, buy great speakers and you've got 70% of it....I love walking into these places throwing the Klipsch name around...do it all the time, just for fun. One fellow, pulled me aside to tell me about his RF-7's and the home theatre routine, he was a manager in a major audiophile type store, that didn't even carry the line. How rediculous is that?
  10. Yeah, and you could bi-wire up huge mono-blocks at another 20K with $100 a ft cables and wires. I'll just stick with the corns, 50 watt cheapy, lamp cord, and laugh all the way to the bank with better sound, thanks to Klipsch. I guess there was a reason he wore that button, eh? BS
  11. Yes a contradiction to some. But everytime I step into one of those High end home theatre places and there sits B&W, all the friggin time, B&W, B&W, B&W. I'd freak if I saw a Belle or La Scala pair.
  12. Would you change the offerings or lineup? Maybe develop another speaker altogether (out of void free plywood) and premium veneers? Bring back the Corns, drop something else? BS
  13. What exactly are the new crossovers going to do for the corns. What drivers do you have?
  14. Keep this thread on the top. Those in agreement, please post.
  15. This is starting to look good. Why did we round the corners again, before the wood bondo?
  16. Lets start a wave. I just stood up in support BS
  17. You might be better served using a visco-elastic open cell foam, covered in fabric. Look for a bedding manufacturer in your area. PM me for more information.
  18. Ouch!, that corner pricked my eye..Looks good, keep the pics coming.
  19. I'll bring some Van Halen: speaking of Fair Warning, Ozzy, Rush, Metallica and just for you Colt, Jethro Tull; topping everything off with a little Brooks and Dunn (this is what I call Dynamic range) Where's that DBX unit I used to have?. We'll bring some RC and Moon pie's; speaking of Moon, where is he? Likely back on the wheat brew? BS
