Yeah......put a wye splitter in your "sub-out" of the receiver. There are various ways to do this......this would be the easiest. []

I'm not familiar with the KW-120 sub. Sounds like you're looking for some mid-bass slam. The SVS is gonna give some punchy bass.....but it is deep bass. Deep bass is an excellent enhancement to a sub that only delivers mid-bass slam. Don't give up on the PB-12 Plus/2......it's an excellent sub. If you're a bass freak or just like your tunes to sound as live as possible......pair the SVS up with another sub that only plays upper bass frequencies. Best of both worlds.

I've also thought about trying that but never have. Hmmm. I mostly use my SVS's for two-channel listening.......so I'm getting even more interested in trying it.

    I have a PB-12 Plus/2 and a PB-12 Ultra/2. If I remember correctly, you tune the box as follows: 16hz = two ports blocked 20hz = one port blocked (I'm not aware of an 18hz setting) 25hz = 0 ports blocked Does your PB-12 Plus/2 have a parametric eq?
  5. Will a Thorens TD 115 also accept this?
  6. Thanks guys. I'm really enjoying it so far. I went and bought six albums for twenty bucks.......How cool is that!! [Y]

  8. I would have to say for the most part....yes.
  9. What's the best way to clean up an old record? I've been told that soap and water is all that is needed......is this true? Any special techniques to sprucing up the vinyl? Thanks, Scott.
  10. Yes, it often confuses me. Does Metallica do that song....or was it Steely Dan? []
  11. Agreed...I wonder what it is about that?? They are designed to be listened to indoors, but can sound better outside. My favorite listening room is my backyard patio system. I put my RB-75's on my patio about 30' apart sitting on some 15" Velodynes overlooking the fire pit. With a cold beverage in hand and the fire crackling away with some righteous tunes surrounded by good buds........life is good. [Y]
  12. .....kinda like hearing a campfire with the tunes on real low. [Y]
  13. Just plopped Steely Dan "AJA" onto the Thorens. A little crackling and popping as I expected but is functioning and sounding awesome. [] Got it matched up with a Marantz 3600 preamp and a Marantz 1070. Sounds wonderful on my RB-75's.
  14. Well I bought it.......$100 bucks. (Thorens TD 115) One problem...and I hope this is the only one....I don't have one single record!! [] Gonna go check out some used ones tomorrow.
  15. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/ele/1080782713.html I'm looking to get back into spinning records again.........what do you guys think about this possible purchase?
  16. I think with both types at their full potential, mated with compatible components the three way has the ability to deliver "more" music for your buck. The three-way is more revealing. However, from the three-way speakers I've heard if they're not matched up with the right components they just reveal more of what I don't want to hear. Two-ways do sound more clear and crisp to my ears......but don't have as "big" of a sound as a three-way. I heard some wonderful sounding, less efficient two-way speakers at the AudioKarma-Chicago get together. Very warm, inviting sounding two-ways but lacked the detail and articulate sound that Klipsch delivers. The Rega speakers they had there sure sounded nice though.....powered by a Fisher 400 tube receiver.
  17. Isn't that kinda what it's all about........to kindly disagree and debate.....hoping someone will open your eyes to something and vice versa? At the end of the day we're all here because we just really dig all things audio.....right?
  18. I use a vintage Marantz 1070 in my bedroom system. Sounds awesome with RB-75's. My cd player has volume on the remote.....no mute, but has a pause button. 35 kick a$$ watts per channel. [Y]
  19. All other factors take a back seat to location......whether it's in the front, back side or whatever you just have to experiment with your room. []
  20. Split off out of the preamp's preouts to an external amp to the LF on the speaker......and the same thing to the HF on the speaker. Passive bi-amping.....if your speakers have dual binding posts on them. The x-over in the speaker is still being used.
  21. The 250 with the indigo/blue lights......125wpc I think??
  22. ....Picked up a vintage Marantz 1070 integrated amp with matching 112 tuner the other day to use with my RB-75's in my bedroom system. 35 vintage wpc and the sound is sweeet. Threw my Marantz 3600 preamp into the mix for fun and got even better results. A slightly fuller, richer sound with the 3600. Anybody that might be wondering.......vintage Marantz sounds absolutely incredible with Klipsch. []
