  1. I sold my last pair of Cornwalls to a Canadian last Sept. I sold them to pay front row Neil Young Tickets. I really regreted selling them. I just got home from picking up a pair of 1976 CWO Cornwall's in Erie Pa. 280 mile round trip. Snowed all the way there and back. They aren't as nice as the last pair I owned. The trilogy is complete. they are a perfect match for my 1976 K horns and 1976 LaScala's. The grill cloth is the same as my K Horns. No chips or dents or peeling veener. There is a scratch on the top of one and a scratch on the side of the other. Bought them from the original owner for 750.00. the camara flash shows the outline of the woofer through the grill cloth but looking at them you can't see it. I have 1/4 inch glass for the tops that I saved. They are going to end up in a 10 x 10 bedroom. Havent had a chance to give them a good listen but they sounded pretty good in Erie. I was pretty nervous because we had to carry them up 20 stairs. Got them loaded in the back of my Camry wagon with no mishaps. Not perfect but pretty darn nice.
  2. I just bought a Dual CS 7000 turntable . All I know is that they are pretty and were Dual's best offering. In 7 years I have only seen 2 of them listed. The one I bought was never used. CS 7000 is big brother to the CS 5000. I have a CS 5000 and really like it. The seller is willing to pack it per my instructions.Keeping my fingers crossed. Would like to hear any comments. Pretty nice pics in eBay listing but I wasn't able to attach the link. eBay item# 220312446097.
  3. After the storm is done with you guys it is suppose to hit us. They are forcasting 12" for Saturday night. It's snowing hard right now but that most be a differant storm. I don't know about you guy's down there but I would rather get the snow over freezing rain. Hope those that lost there power get it back soon. We were suppose to get a bad ice storm on March 3rd but only got about 1/2 inch. We were pretty nervous because of the date. The worst natural disaster in New York state history was the ice storm that hit on 3/3/1991. We got 1 3/4 inches of ice in that one. We were out of power for 21 days that time.
  4. If it melted to fast I have some left over from last year. Just pay shipping and handling
  5. In 1995 My brother in law from New Mexico sold me on 4 cyl Toyota Camry stationwagons. He is a traveling salesman and puts 400,000 on his Camry's and then gives them to his kids. He also sold me on Amsoil synthetic oil and Amsoil filters. 1996 was the last year for Camry wagons so they are getting harder to find. My winter car is a 1995 Camry wagon 4 cyl that has never left me stranded. It has started first time every time for 170,000 miles. I will retire it when it hits 200,000. In this climate (western N.Y.) 400,000 is unrealistic. I have another 1995 Camry wagon with 72,000 that has never seen winter that we drive in the summer. Not big enough for my ego but I can fit 2 la scalas in the back. I got my K horns home in one trip. Bass bins and 1 top hat in the back. The other top hat rode up front in the passanger seat. Close fit on the Bass bins. 1/2 inch clearance between the wheel wells Last summer my wife bought me a southern 1996 Camry wagon with 48,000 original miles. Like new in and out. Never seen snow or salt. We only plan on driving it when we go on vacations. My wife doent drive anymore so we are set for transportation for a while. Since we paid off our mortgage and credit cards we don't buy anything unless we can pay cash.
  6. Your right. the cabinets would bother me and I would just end up reselling them. From what I have been able to observe alot of folks prefer the plastic composite mid horns. I like the metal horns because all my other speakers have metal horns. Maybe the guy that wanted your Cornwalls will want them.
  7. At first read I thought they were 1981 vintage but after looking at the serial numbers they are actually 1984. I am not that crazy about the K601 plastic mid horns. Let me contact the seller and find out the details. If I can get them for a song I will be headed for Saratoga. If that happens maybe we could meet at starbucks in the village.
  8. It does it on all sources. I have seen these receivers do some strange things because of dirty switches. To get at the balance slider faceplate would have to be removed. My thought and hope is that it is nothing more than balance slider. It could be the mode switch that allows you to reverse the channels, right or left, stereo or mono. The final amp units are completely seperate so It has to be in a switch or the preamp I would think.
  9. I can't beleive it. It is 6AM as I type. Saw these speakers at 5:30 AM this morning. When I saw Saratoga Springs I thought they had to be yours. Being right in Saratoga if you want a second pair I wouldnt step on your toes. However if you don't want them I am interested in them. Any chance you could contact seller and see if you can go check them out? Reminds me of the time I drove to Pittsburgh to get a pair of Cornwalls and the very next day a pair showed up 40 miles from me.
  10. One of my Marantz 2325 receivers has a developed a problem. When the balance control slider is all the way to the left channel I can still hear music coming from the right channel. And visa versa. The bleed over is fairly loud. It should be dead silent. I havent taken it apart to deoxit the balance control yet. I have worked the balance slider back and forth but it didn't help. Does anyone know of anyone that could fix it? Someone I could trust not to leave tooling marks on the faceplate when removing the corner hex bolts. I paid a fortune for it as new in the box. Not a mark on it anywhere so I am pretty nervous about having it worked on. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.
  11. I am pretty happy with it so far. I listened to 3 albums and it sounded very good. The headshell was very diffacult to mount my shure v15 type III on though. I had to us longer screws than what were on the cartridge that came with it. The screws wern't long enough to allow for any angle adjustment though. It looks to be fairly horizontal to the album but it is probaly not to spec. I and going to order another headshell to mount a shure x97e on. I am going to order an angle adjustment tool and a spare belt. A CS 5000 that wasnt as nice as mine went for 500.00 so I think I got a pretty good deal at 400.00.
  12. another pic. This table was ebay item 120222182241. I never placed a bid. Seller screwed up and used sell to high bidder option to end auction. He will have a hard time explaing that to the high bidder.
  13. A Mint Dual CS 5000 with manual showed up 52 miles from me. Seller agreed to let me dive over to check it out with 7 hours left in the auction. His brother bought it new and didn't use it much. Bid was already at 340.00 so seller didn't want to take less than 400.00 for. He told me if I gave him 400.00 let me pick out 10 albums out of his collection. I couldn't resist. Got it home and set it up with a NOS Shure v15 type III with vn35he stylus. It looks nice with my old marantx receivers. I am going to have to sell one of my technics sl1600MK2's now.
  14. I think it takes balls bring a bus like this into Buffalo N.Y. on 11/30/2007. He left Toronto the night before in freezing rain.
  15. I know you weren't knocking Neil. He does what he wants whether the fans like it or not. I am not that thrilled about the fact that the next archive release will not be on CD. Only on Blue-ray DVD. what the heck is blue-ray DVD? I guess you need a special type of DVD machine. I am willing to pay the price what ever it is if I don't die waiting. I took the pic from my 1000.00 front row orch seats at Shea's Theatre Buffalo N.Y. on 11/30/2007. I will try a couple more pics.
  16. Neil's music continues to touch the hearts of people all over the world. I have really enjoyed being along for the ride.
  17. My Marantz 6300 is pretty but that only goes so far. The SL 1600MkII is much easier to use and with the quartz lock you know the speed is right. Glad I picked it up last night. Today we have a full blown lake effect blizzard . Zero visibility white out condition with 45 mph sustained wind. 15 degrees and still dropping. Compared to 70 below zero air temp. up in Alaska this is a walk in the park. Hope your staying warm in Saratoga.
  18. I just traded a pair of nice 1979 HBR Heresy's for a like new in the box technics SL 1600MKII turntable with Shure V15 Type III Cartridge and Stylus. 75 mile trip down the Thruway. I had bought a couple of real nice SL 1600 MKII's from seller before. I didn't really need another turntable but when he said like new in the box he got my attention. He had been wanting a pair of Heresy's for a while. The Shure v15 type III sealed the deal for me. The Technics SL 1600MKII is a well kept secret. Every feature you could want. Direct drive, Quartz lock pitch control. Touch button on off and cueing, repeat, stop, and fully auto. The thing I really like about the sl 1600MKII is that you don't have to open dust cover to access touch buttons. Maybe I paid to much, but you know, like new in the box, no shipping.
  19. Make sure the record and monitor buttons are pushed in.
  20. I am definately ready for spring. We have had alot of power outages with the wind and freezing rain. My guess is that Feb. and March are going to be hard. Thanks for asking about my wife. She is hanging on. She has been in the hospital more than out this last year. The liver transplant doctors tell us that the hospital stays will get more frequent and longer duration until she is high enough on the list to get a transplant. Still have the K horns, 1 pair of Lascalas and 6 pairs of Heresy's. I definately miss the Cornwalls. I noticed a pair of Cornwall crossovers on Saratoga Craigslist and thought maybe you got new crossovers for yours.
  21. I was looking through my stuff and found my draft card. I explained my wife how the draft lottery worked back then. At that time everyone with a number less than 180 got drafted. My number was 59, the only lottery I ever won. I told her that I thought the military should let folks serve in what ever capacity they could regardless of age.
  22. I took this pic on 6/16/07 at his out door concert at the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca New York. He seemed to be in top form to me.
