  1. I just bought a Nikon D-80 and want the best printer I can get for $1000 or so. I will be needing to print up to 8 x 10 for headshots and will need to do black and white. It will only be used for photographs, no documents, etc. Give me your expert opinion. Thanks, Billy
  2. hey Gary....No, no Memphis for me. I am working hard all this week to get caught up so I can be gone from the 1st to the 8th. My daughter is competing @ AMTC (Millie Lewis Convention) in Orlando and that is sucking all the time, money and life out of us right now. I probably wouldn't have gone anyway, I'm like 0-3 in Bowl games. I saw Dan Marino light us up in the 1980 Gator Bowl, Oklahoma State break our hearts when Rusty Hilger hit Barry Hanna for a 25 yard TD w/ 1 minute to go in the '84 Gator Bowl and the Tommy Hodson/Wendell Davis Show and LSU in another Gator Bowl nightmare in '87. I couldn't do that to the ***** again. see Gary, if I had gone to the game we would have blown it there at the end GO ***** (and Wildcats HA HA)

  5. the C7 is easier to find. I saw a KV4 on here for sale not too long ago. I do think the KV4 is the better match.
  6. KV-4. There was one on here not too long ago. I think that's the match, but I could be wrong. I am all the time.
  7. Hey Indy , I was only trying to give Michael a chuckle with my original post . This setup is absolutely Awesome ; I think we kinda know what each other has , and I have gone through too much trouble to get these 5 gals ! They are not for sale !!! I was not kidding about the fact that they are hindering my house search . Right now they are in a 16 x 22 room , setup on the long wall . I really cannot imagine setting them up in a smaller room . They will overload this room easily and I swear the DD 18 sub is eventualy going to push out some windows ! "It's an old house ." Gotta find a modest home with a large room addition . I found one a couple of months ago with a nice 18 x 24 room . The only problem was they were asking 20% more than the other houses in the nieghborhood and were not willing to negotiate at all . Good thing I don't have to be out of here anytime soon ... Willy PS - Some folk are probably thinking , "Hey that's not a DD 18 in the pic ." They would be right the pic was taken last Christmas . I mean heck , I've only gotten 2 cards so far , and 1 was from my realator ... [] dang I thought you were serious as long as the house has a garage you'll be ok
  8. Hello Mr. Colter , I have 5 old Belles in a '16 x '22 room . If I were to go with the top of the line Reference Series or THX system would there be a dramatic improvement in the quality of sound ? I ask because basicly I have 5 washing machine sized speakers here and they are hindering my new home search . See what I mean ? Thanks in advance , Willy, I might consider a trade. A local trade at that. How about the RF 7s, RC 7, RS 7s and RB 35s for the 5 Belles? My only issue would be the center channel situation but it might be worth investigating. or you might be interested in the KLF 30s, 20s, Custom 20 center and KLF C7 in trade
  9. No doubt the ear has got you covered here, but I have a Depth and it's a good sub. If I had it to do over again though, I wouldn't drop $1800 on it. Good sub, not worth that many pennies
  10. Philidelphia? I'm as Charlestonian as Willy, and can get real geechie when i'm around my john's island buddies. Philly?
  11. it's true. Willy you sound like a younger Bruce Williams.
  12. I've got a Technics SA-700 that I bought for $125 off ebay. It is a very nice sounding receiver...loads of power (for LaScalas. esp) and looks really nice too. I'm a big fan of vintage receivers.
  13. The Bridges of Madison County, second only to You've Got Mail Awesome!!
  14. What Movie is that yer watchin, Tommyboy? I don't think I've evern seen that one before.
  15. not having to cram earbuds in your ear and having one fall or get pulled out...........priceless. I have QC II as well. I like them cuz I do.
  16. I really like the B & K, but I gotta believe that there's a wide variety that's going to work for you. One thing about the B & K though, it runs hot as hell. I have mine on top. I couldn't imagine having that thing in a cabinet.
  17. what's up Gary. Where/when did you get the other pair of 30's? HZow's Cola doin? We still haven't sold the house in Irmo. We're settled pretty good here. Congrats on the other Legends. Billy
  18. I was told by a custom installer in Columbia (Sound Advice) that the Denon was considered the "Builder" grade and the Marantz was more of the upper end line but built by the same company. He has done many installs over the years so he might know what he's talking about, however he may be referring to the particular model of unit he sells, etc etc etc
  19. Jack, Let Hunt know they made it back down here. He must have some cool neighbors as they are all pretty close at his place. I have yard tested my stuff already and even though there is some distance between houses, you can hear it very very well outside when cranked.
  20. so should I blast while they're setting up or wait 'till they're at the top of their backswing?
  21. Sorry to hijack your thread Billy . BTW , my Belles have tons of bass now ! it's not my thread...it's our thread! And even so, you're always welcome to fly this plane anywhere. I've got to check out that monster sub. I can't believe I haven't yet but the last 4 months have been extremely stressful. I do have an inside room now for the Scalas. I was flexing them earlier this evening and wow, I am so damn glad I kept them. I am going to screw up someone's approach shot sooner or later, but theres not many people playing out there when its 110 degrees. Maybe in the fall.
