project la scala from begining to who knows when done

i work at a company that makes plywood panels and we press it on core any thing from sycamore, mostly cherry, pomele sapeli, dodge walnut, teak and ribbon stripe mahogany and pretty much any other type of wood. the presses that press the veneer on use somethin like 35 - 50 psi at 200 dregrees to press the veneer on (lets just say i have acess to alot of nice tools like sliding table saws or programable ones) i just do what i can at home and cut the wood at work its a chore to bring it back and forth but its worth it, just can be a pain when i get home to find out i need to bring a peice back and saw off like .040 off to make things line up after i glue edge banding on the sides to maintain the 24.5 depth -

so i couldnt wait to show off my lascala project. the wood veneer i chose to se was pomele sapeli since it is exotic and not seen much unless you go onto a carver yacht. The company i work for has scrap various size peices that end up in the trash. all i have to do is cut them and tape the peices together and have someone at my jop press it for me. since the company i work for makes custom veneer plywood. i cant aford to buy out right a pair used but ill be buying peice to compleet the project over time all i need is 2 k33 and a x over. i figure ill be done with the cabinates in like a month due to waiting for more veneer to come my way (to the trash that is) FREE i just couldnt wait to show off some of my project to fellow klipsch lovers ill be posting pics here and there so just be patient til im done

10 mill is paper back sometimes it has a foil midle layer mostly not a 2 ply has wood on both sides and it has the 10 mill paper in the middle 2 ply is thicker around.050 vs 10mill of .030 these are about the thickness depending how much was sanded off i work in the veneer industry and supply custom yachts with plywood and 10mill and stuff like that and personly im making some la scalas now out of scrap material just need to wait for wast (drops) of veneer hope this was helpful my lascala pic will be posted in the future useing exotic wood havnt seen them don in it yet

i leave mine on 24/7 for almost 2 years with no problems and yes your sub is most likely blown open the back and ohm the speaker thats playing (disconect the leads from the speakers befor checkin resitance ) then check the other they should read the same and yes the good speaker when playin will move the blown one

my choice is rose wood but be careful of alergic reactions to it can make u itch and have an iretated throat but it'll look impresive i made a dresser out of it and still not done the dark trim is wenge wood and will be on top and bottom also -
when my buddie sold klipsch at this store to if they sold for 1000 i could get it for almost half that price it was just how klipsch mark up was

thanks for the ideas and the advice. once i get some of my other projects out of the way i might giv one of there a try. for some reason im thinking that these speakers would look awesome in zebra wood. should i remake the cabinet (what im thinking) or just revenere over the original cab(probaly not to wise)
-
I was pondering over the thought of remaking cabinets for heresy II that would accommodate a k-33 does anyone know if the crossover will handle it enough or how much the top end of the Hz response would change due to the impedance, and why pwk didnt design the speaker with a 15. My friends logic was that he might not have wanted to compete with the bigger speakers on a small scale. I am looking for opinions on this project idea until I get a k-33 to test build a cabinet. Or my other option is to repress the speakers with zebra wood. This is a project that I will try eventually just want some ideas on this or suggestions that could be helpful to the project
