  1. After reading this thread I made the plunge. I purchased Diana Krall live in Paris, The BeeGees One night Only and Peter Gabriel Secret World Iive. Hands down both Peter Gabriel and The BeeGees are incredible, but the video in the Peter Gabriel in not that good, but the concert absolutely rocked!!! I don't know why, but I just can't get into Jazz as much as I try. I would be willing to let the Diana Krall go to anyone interested, it's brand new. Many here have hooked me up free of charge and I am willing to do the same with her Video, just let me know. That said, the other two, were incredible. I didn't realize just how much good music the BeeGees wrote, and Peter Gabriel.......well it's Peter Gabriel.
  2. Get with the program guys!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/Crown-K2-Amp_W0QQitemZ200137292809QQihZ010QQcategoryZ64451QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Amp Is In Very Good Condition! Only reason for selling is that I updated my system to the Bose L1 System which has the amp built in.
  3. I am not sure where you are located, but I have a nice pair of 89's I would part with. I have no use for them now that I have my Khorns..............Unless I use them and a Heresy for center duty and make a 5.1 setup out of the whole thing.
  4. Dean, I have heard you say this in the past, how do you control the volume? Also, you are not using crossovers, and if so how do you do that, by biamping and letting the natural freq. resp. of horn and bass do the filtering?
  5. I have had my VRD's for almost 2 years now and absolutely love them. Craig has always been very prompt in returning emails, and was kind enough to spend the time on the phone to help me find a tube that went south. You just cannot get that kind of customer service anymore. I might add that my son's piano teacher is a pretty darn famous conductor, he did some work for Frank Zappa and some of his students have gone on to be in some famous sympohonys and have also played on the Lord of the RIngs soundtracks. He recently came to my house and was immediately drawn to my music room (Khorns, BBX and VRD's). He is very familiar with the Khorns, and he went on to say that I have one of the finest audio systems he has heard. Now this genlteman knows music, and for him to lay down that kind of statement, to me is the ultimate compliment. I knew I would never part with them, and he just reinforced my take on my setup.
  6. I am setting up another 2 ch setup for movies and CD's. I am using my Khorns along with a highly modified EAD preamp. I am trying to find a good 2ch amp to mate with these. I considering a Mcintosh, but which ones should I consider and are there any of the Mcintosh I shoudl shy away from.
  7. just saw these. http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSCH-RF-7-REFERENCE-FLOOR-STANDING-SPEAKERS-NEW_W0QQitemZ300120742501QQihZ020QQcategoryZ14993QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Hope it works out for you. My wife has been very patient with me. Started with Altec model 14's, then Heresy's, then LS, then Cornwalls, RF 83's and now Khorns.
  8. Travis and family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I had to put my buddy down a few years ago and I must say it was by far the toughest thing I have ever done. I will always remember the joy he brought me and my family in his 12 years with us, and I am sure you will do the same with Malcolm. You did the right thing, as tough as it was. Hang in there.
  9. I am still too young to have that problem, but I have older sibling that are experiencing the same thing.............Sorry, had to do it with that thread title.
  10. Which model is the 5x125?
  11. What do you guys think. A room 15x12, with Khorns on the short wall, with LaScala's pulling surround and Heresy as a center channel. Do you think it is too much for a room of that size.
  12. Gary, LP's arrived yesterday, PM'd you. Thanks again. Sam
  13. I am using 2 preamps, a BBX and a EAD TheaterMaster. I use the BBX for LP's and CD's and the EAD for movies, cable and Xbox. I would like to have a switch made that will let me use my VRD's, but switch bewteen preamps I like the EAD for movies and such for the remote and the fact that it is DTS. Anyone out there interested in making one?
  14. Gary, PM sent. Sorry, been really busy
  15. Gary, Sent you a PM, for some reason email isn't working from here.
  16. it seems to get little attention, but I have A Audio Technica OC-9 and it is a wonderful cart. The gentleman who I got my TD-160 from (Dave at VinylNirvana) was very impressed with the sound, and I have had others who have just raved about it. It can be had for under $300 and you would not be disappointed.
  17. The anticipation..................With the setup I now have I know it will be nothing short of stellar!!
  18. Travis and Gary, PM's sent. Thanks guys.
  19. I have been trying to find some Allman Bros on vinyl and am having a hard time finding any. I am looking for Live at the Fillmore East (just missed one on the gon), Eat a Peach, or any early ones when Duane was still around. He is quickly becoming my favorite guitarist to listen to, that guy is just incredible. I have some on CD, but can't seem to get my hands on any vinyl.
  20. SCOTT U R AWESOME!!!! Disconnecting the ground from the chassis cured it and I am rocking out. Thanks again!!
  21. I unhooked the chassis ground from the TT, haven't tried it yet though, because I am reading very low resistance between the center conductor and the ground of the rca jacks. I will give it a shot here in just a few with the ground disconnected from the TT. I will also take a pic or two of it . THanks.
  22. Yes I am still running the original cables. Do I need to run a new ground cable all together?
