Thanks. With the larger horn I had hoped that it would cross deeper......

At various times, Roy has talked about the importance of matching the polar pattern of each driver in the crossover region to make the transition as seamless as possible. I suspect that was a key element in the choice here.

    Very nice!

Some folks prefer the K-5-J horn over the K-400.

Hopefully, they still have the original Stephens-Trusonic 103LX-2 woofers; rare and sought after.

I have #1251 June '57.  Keeping it stock.

The K-5-J horn does not measure as well as the K-400, it’s bandwidth and FR don’t look as good, but many people prefer its sound. The polar response in the horizontal plane is outstanding, especially considering the era this horn is from. I love listening to this one....use it in a CornScala configuration, very natural sounding!

J.S.Bach: Toccata, Adagio & Fugue in C major, BWV 564

performed by Hans-André Stamm on the Trost-Organ in Waltershausen, Germany.

The organ appears to be a tracker style, with manual stops, etc., so you get some of the tonality and tracker organ feel from this performance.

Remember to turn it up to 83 dB at the listening position.

    Chris

One of my favorite Bach compositions for organ! I will play this through the Jubilees on the patio after we close.

    Thank you Chris

Sorry I couldn't remember your name, I thought it was you with the restaurant in CO but was not sure enough to say that possibly being wrong.

Oh, no worries, dtel, your memory is doing just fine!

  5. Yes open May through October, closed in winter.

We have been trying to make the pilgrimage, always have schedule conflicts if the event is too late on the calendar.

You are right, no Jubilee pictures on the website, guess I have to fix that! (Don’t tell Coytee, he will probably faint if he sees pictures after all this time)

  6. That was such a great event! I learned a lot and met some great people as well. Hope we can do it again!

Coytee, good memory!  After 12 years, the Jubs still get a workout every day on the patio with live and recorded music. They look and sound like new, a testament to their design and construction quality. We are really glad Klipsch built them in marine - grade plywood for us.

  7. That’s funny!

We live in Silverton May through October, where we operate our restaurant. Sedona is home, where we live November through April.

There are about 700 year- round residents here, as my wife says, “Silverton winters are for the hearty and foolish, we are neither!”

this last winter was one for the record books, well over 20 feet of snow in town, higher elevations over 50 feet!

In  Arizona ,  95% of the rain does not make to the ground , evaporates  before  hitting .

We are in monsoon  season , soon the rains will start and cool the deserts , then the deserts will green up for a while

Where I live , it was   68 degrees  this morning

In Phoenix , 89 degrees  this morning  reaching a high if 114 degrees today , I'd hate to work outside in that heat

Ahh, Sedona, I miss home! Here in Silverton CO, it was 46 this morning, on the way to 70.

  9. I have said this before and still believe it is true..... To successfully launch the Jubilee as the premier home speaker will require something we have not seen yet, a state-of-the-art hf horn of a size that is between the 402 and the 510. This will overcome the size objections which would limit sales of a 402 design and overcome the performance limitations of pattern control on the 510. Development of an intermediate sized horn probably only makes sense if there is an application on the professional / theater side of the business. We can always hope!

And yes, Klipsch, I would love to see that reality come to pass, and I would buy them for my home!

Roy gave a group of us a demo of 3 direct radiator LF Systems and a Jubilee and all had the K402 HF.

The (3) direct radiator LF systems were as follows:

    (1) 15”

    (2) 15”

    (4) 15”

As the number of 15” drivers (radiating surface area increased) per system the sound quality was obviously improved each time in clarity/distortion with the (4 x 15” driver) system performing very close to the Jubilee LF system.

My opinion was the Jubilee System was still the best and it took the 4x15” direct radiator system to get close to its performance but by then the direct radiator system’s bulk size was as much if not more than the Jubilee.

This was a great demo about how low frequencies reproduction in rooms benefit from large radiating surface areas and thus small amplitude requirements for a given SPL required.

That is exactly as I perceived it as well. I found that to be one of the most instructive demonstrations I have experienced.
