  1. Is indeed a cool site. See you at the Pilgrimage?
  2. The final boundry for Peters Colony (as enacted by President Sam Houston) pretty much covered all of North Texas. It was originally a narrow strip from the southern edge of Collin County to the Red River. My forebears came across the Red in Grayson County and settled in southern Dallas County during the last days of the Republic. My house is near the former town of Rhinehart in Dallas County, still within the the 3rd Peters Grant just off of the old Republic of Texas Highway (which went from Austin to Hope Arkansas...among other places).
  3. You may have known that "Big Al" was a Friend of Bills (or you may have known him before he became one). He and I were old friends and often housemates from the years I warn my kids about. As a result of those years, he suffered total liver failure a couple of years ago and died while waiting for a transplant. He left a big hole in a lot of folks lives.
  4. Nah. I was thinking of an old friend (RIP) who was a Mac and Klipsch fan who worked at Antone's for a long time, as well as running record stores and managing some acts in Austin. Al Ragle.
  5. Yep. Folds and stores into a "backpack" for carrying on the train. 21 speed, dual suspention with a normal bike's geometry for good handling. Rapid Transit in Chicago sells 'em (Birdy) if you ever want to look at one up close.
  6. While we're posting pictures of bikes, here's mine (but that's not me...I'm the shadow).
  7. Gave away 600 LPs last month (church rummage sale). Kept 1000. No listing.
  8. I've been pretty well domesticated over the last 20+ years.
  9. FYI: I booked my room at the Econo-Lodge. $36 a night (In case anyone here has Scots blood in their veins).
  10. "Error. You have exceeded the server's bandwidth allotment."
  11. Yeah, but he always plays a perfect round (18 holes, 18 strokes), so it's pointless playing against him. You always lose. Caddying for him, however, is a blast! :-)
  12. He has risen, indeed! (And He shall reign forever and ever. Halleluia!)
  13. Is that available on CD? I'm starting to get a collection of Requiems. I see a new (budget) re-issue from one of Amazon's Partners (New and Used). Different package, same recording. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005NYAU/qid=1145206756/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/104-0715453-8211117?s=classical&v=glance&n=5174 A pricier, but perhaps more satisfying, version is this Jordi Savall performance. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006RGMP/qid=1145206756/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_6/104-0715453-8211117?s=classical&v=glance&n=5174
  14. Where do get the MSRP? And is that base price? What options are available, and what is the cost break down on the options? I may make my order today [] http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/ Stripes and the McIntosh stereo are about the only options.
  15. To each his/her own, and that's just fine. My FAVORITE Klipch finish is Raw Birch. My most lusted after Klipsch are RB LS. To me, they look like a piece of Donald Judd's sculpture (esoterica). http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/JJ/fjuyq.html But then, I like minimalism and the bauhaus.
  16. Oh. Nevermind. I see the forum's changed AGAIN!
  17. Go here to upload your pictures to a server. http://imageshack.us/ They'll give you a URL that you can paste into the little picture frame thingie, or you can simply post a direct link in the forum composer wwindow.
  18. Deleted duplicate post. This forum software is driving me nuts.
  19. MSRP for a 2006 Ford GT is $151,245. The ones in the back of the latest Autoweek (got my most recent copy Thursday) are running from a low of $163K for a used one to a high of $190K for a new one (most of the ads don't list a price).
