  1. i’ve had to do that before … post something then have second thoughts.
  2. i wonder if Sammy White is still mad at him for throwing that pass to him in the Super Bowl while Jack Tatum was patrolling the defensive backfield? I’ll bet Sammy’s head is still spinning.
  3. Being a drummer, 3 in the morning was like noon to you.
  4. it's quite the time altering event. I was calling friends at 3 in the morning thinking it was the middle of the afternoon. it may have been “afternoon” somewhere. i fell asleep with the tv on. woke up and some sports show was replaying a world series game. I jumped up knowing i’d fell asleep in June and the world series is in october … it only got worse from there. Stuff killed my stomach and i couldn’t eat for days…friends took all my money and my truck (they were frying too)…not a good day.
  5. i like Manning more than Brady; but, would rather see plunkett, stabler, or steve young.
  6. yes…have done shrooms as well. last time i did them, i thought i’d slept for 4 months--was in quite the panic wondering what to do after sleeping that long.
  7. I argue with some musicians friends often about stuff like this…I claim that writing is the greater talent. My friend, playing bass about 40 years, says performing is the greater talent. his reasoning is that writing/recording is done in a controlled environment, so being able to adapt during a performance takes more talent. I started quite an argument on this forum a few years back by claiming that Snowy White (playing with Roger Waters) was as good of a guitarist as David Gilmour. David may write music better than Snowy; but, as far as performing, Snowy is incredibly talented and very underrated.
  8. dropped acid on the way to the airport back in the 70s…flew cross-country LITERALLY. I think I read a MAD magazine the entire flight. Wouldn’t recommend being as stupid as i was; but, i’m sure i was well-behaved.
  9. I was thinking about going -- does that count?
  10. what a coincidence … i once had a jack DANIELS CHASER in Missouri with a guy from KC. Just one?! i didn’t want to be a show off.

  12. dream big brother … in a perfect world, the bands would be in my living room performing live. I'll do you one better, bands in my living room with the babe groupies...oh wait, this is an audio-enthusiast forum...sorry, wrong topic. valiant effort at self-moderating.
  13. Interesting...I guess there is a finite amount of anything, I could understand the concept of a finite amount of "knowledge", but having a hard time with finite intelligence, after all even when we get to the point where we know all there is to know, will we know it, and just stop looking?....I think we will have managed to kill ourselves off before then, but the thought is interesting to me... the only way we could know that we’ve learnt everything is to have already known everything. Exactly my point....I think!! maybe i already knew what you meant

  15. I would never say no to a 8.5 lbs. large mouth bass.... Bass fishing is good in Texas.... You should give it a try someday.... It is on my bucketlist of places to go and fish. Our average bass here is 1.5 lbs and our record is 10.14. Your average is almost as large as our record and most people think the next record will come from Texas as they have a spawning program where they are cross breeding bass from Florida and Texas. When we get a 4+ lb fish, it's a good day fishing. I have a friend who lives down there, just need to get the time to get down there. What really makes it good down here is the fellowship that develops between fishermen..... It's mixed up here. I've been fishing for 8 years now, and the guy who got me into it was a tournament fisher, so he wasn't the most friendly when it came to speaking to other fishermen. I've met people who will let you right in with them on their spot if they are fishing in one spot also. I have no issues myself giving out information and tricks when it comes to fishing, and have also given equipment to kids when they are out at a lake with a parent who may not know what they are doing. I have become a big student with fishing and try to learn why fish behave the way they do and about their feeding habits. I've also gotten into fly fishing and tying my own flies. Here's a few of my catches and one with my youngest son from 2 years ago. I now have to learn more with my new hobby here with audio. Outstanding.... We can talk later on another thread about our hobby.... there is something fishy about that conversation

  17. Ah, we used to dream of being raised on a trombone. When i was a kid, there were 27 of us living in a small shoebox…and we were happy.
  18. i don’t know the cost; but, the cost of NOT doing it is probably greater. That said, it really depends on what Klipsch wants to be. Nothing wrong serving a small, niche market where you can get by with word of mouth advertising. Since they’re in Best Buy and making sound bars and a hundred types of headphones/earbuds … i’m guessing they have bigger dreams, so if they wanna dance, they’re going to have to pay the band. One thing is pretty simple to understand…very few are going to buy if they don’t know who you are. Uninformed shoppers are like uninformed voters that keep voting for the incumbents just because they don’t know anything about the other guy on the ballot. “well, there’s this BOSE thing and a Klipsch thing…don’t know too much about either; but, at least i’ve heard of BOSE.” Wouldn’t surprise me if that statement hasn’t been said countless times.
  19. Yankee. After I lived in Central Kali 2 years I was told I sounded like a Yankee. they grow good food in the central portion of this state.
  20. you know.. when a guy is angry and has a chip on his shoulder.. he’s the new robert conrad. Conrad wore a battery on his shoulder and dared you to knock it off.
  21. how fast does your mazzeratti go?
  22. I RARELY go to the movies…i mean, once every three years or so. Not sure if Klipsch is in any of the local theaters around here. BUT, they should have a full-screen ad on those promos before the movies starts that says something about the incredible sound brought to you by Klipsch … and mention that Klipsch makes stuff for the home that sounds just as good.
  23. you did a fine job explaining Alex. I do understand that Klipsch needs sales and a large percentage of the population most likely can’t afford Heritage. And, i’ll admit the lower end Klipsch stuff sounds better than a lot of the other stuff on the shelves. BMW, Mercedez, Porsche, Bentley … still have sales, because people associate those brands with high quality. Most people i talk to have NEVER heard of Klipsch (that should sound some alarms in your marketing department), and few that do mention them being high end gear. A co-worker was talking about building a home theatre--i suggested Klipsch, he said “Klipsch isn’t high quality.” Trust me, Klipsch would kick butt on whatever he decides; but, my point is that Klipsch needs to promote their heritage gear better--even the partially ignorant customers that want to be a step above their neighbors, still don’t recognize Klipsch as “high end.” It’s not that Klipsch has a bad reputation it’s because it isn’t well known. They assume since they haven’t heard of Klipsch, then it must not be as good as BOSE. You need to get Klipsch in the conversation. I’ve no problem with Reference and didn’t even have a problem with Synergy--they have their place in the market and it does get the Klipsch name in homes. BUT, i just don’t want that to become the Klipsch mainstream…Best Buy type stuff, sound bars, etc… marketing the Heritage is a challenge and one i want you to take on. Thank you for considering the opinion of the forum members--we’re pretty good and the cheapest advertising that you’ll ever find.
  24. so how do you southerns think a southern california accent sounds? not talking that fake surfer dude lingo -- just regular folk talk.
  25. that was exactly what i was going to suggest. well done.
