  1. Fwiw, I would think the next thing on the chopping block is talking about non-Klipsch subwoofers! ☠
  2. You may be correct. I like and respect Mr. Degado, but It's REALLY going to get boring if this place only becomes about him and his wishes. That's my take.
  3. There's the rub! When it comes to best bang-for-your-buck the USED Heritage line is where it at. I can't imagine they sell enough new Heritage speakers to be worthwhile (read commercially feasible)and only have them available for legacy's sake. My on going thoughts on this is the reason for the change here maybe for Klipsch interest in aftermarket considerations. 🤔
  4. Fwiw, I thought I knew and articulated the standard, but the real question (for me at least) is what happened to @MMurg's thread? 😮
  5. Fwiw, this has been a community of content creators (with many becoming friends along with purchasers) and your "boss" analogy falls flat. Otoh, moderators have a job to do and I appreciate them doing it.
  6. Fwiw, I think you are one of these guys: Fwiw, this was your first opinion of me in this thread: and this about my comment: So I hope you realize the hyperbole in both comments seemed needlessly defensive, imo.
  7. Ha! What got me here was learning about all things Klipsch INCLUDING contemplating if I needed a "deang" crossover for my new RF-7s. 😁 This actually is the Klipsch target market for most of their products. Fwiw, what kept me here WAS the extraneous conversations we had BSing over important contemporary topics. The value to Klipsch over the years is we help sell speakers and answered Customer Service questions on setup while we were doing so (I also was heavily involved over at AVSFORUM). Imo, here is the crux and we've come full circle: There's no longer much talk about new speakers and most of the customer service material are complaints--It used to not be that way. Otoh, (I know. I've mentioned this before) the vast amount of traffic is from the LOUNGE section followed by the DIY crowd involving updating old Heritage speakers. I still think a telling irony is that a guy bought Klipsch most expensive speakers and had his thread deleted (if it wasn't a mistake) because he had a center channel created because there wasn't one available. That's my take over morning coffee. Btw, although they may not remember me, I met both Trey and Roy in person and had several conversations with them on non-audio related subjects which were more-than-interesting in a unfortunately defunct forum that no longer exists...
  8. Fwiw, I would trade all of my posts that remain for those that were deleted... For the record, I'm pretty sure they haven't visited here daily, but point taken.
  9. That is correct. Then I gotta think it was a mistake. Fwiw, Roy banned me by mistake once and something similar could have happened to your thread. I saw it the night before it was gone and saw nothing wrong so I would contact either Roy or Travis to at least see if that's the case....Now it's a Forum mystery we all have a vested interest in! 😎
  10. Yes. I also see that the forum's longevity depends on the 2 moderators and it reminds me that it's dwindled down from about 6 or so that volunteered about 6 years or so. Fwiw, @Mallette (RIP) championed (until he didn't) what I liked best about the forum and the rest despised those incredibly interesting non-audio conversations. Unfortunately (and I keep bringing this up) incivility brought that demise and will do so again is what I'm thinking...{Note: The new guy's thread that started this discussion was invited to be deleted and imo, was self-generated} How can one not like billybob! He's the forum's Yoda, imo.
  11. I'm hoping the market improves in the near future so I can transfer to bonds without losing too much money. Imo, if they (suppliers, manufacturers, & retailers) can get a handle on supply chain issues and if Russia changes course in Ukraine (I really think Putin's days are numbered) the markets will raise substantially and interest rates will remain stable where they are at...That's what I see in my novice crystal ball. Yep. There is also the situation for us in the retail market renting space as a small business. I have to renew our lease between now and 2024 and am at a loss post-pandemic expectations are...
  12. Yeah, but the History here is incredible! It used to be a place where discussion/debate on so many subjects other than Klipsch audio occured. Otoh, there was also more discussion of newer Klipsch speakers as I remember...🤔 Now it appears to be 80% Lounge traffic with most of the remaining older Heritage discussions--After all, getting back to best bang-for-your-buck it appears used Klipsch Heritage is right up there with older RF-7s/RB-75s in that regard.
  13. One of the things about this hobby is how diverse people's needs and interests are. Me personally, I am a multichannel music, concert, and movie aficionado and work backwards from there on a best-bang-for-your-buck and diminishing returns philosophy. 😊 {Note: I really benefited from Scientific discussions at AVSFORUM: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/would-i-benefit-from-an-external-amp.1532635/#post-24742433 Otoh, I gather there are those who like to continually buy and test components especially 2-channel/stereo guys. As others have mentioned, most of this source material is being consumed with headphones and ear buds and those who still like to listen with speakers are in the category mentioned above. That's my take.
  14. We'll, I wouldn't say that, but otoh I wouldn't try and talk someone who has a contrary opinion out of what they are hearing....I also appreciate those with a scientific background bringing their experience to the table.
  15. Welcome to the Forum and hope you have it figured out by now. If not, I don't know which sub you have but if it's "20% of capacity" that you heard at the store check the GAIN/TRIM levels in your AVRs BASS MANAGEMENT.
  16. Fwiw, I see it as one persons "comical" opinion being countered with "bullshit." Lol.😁 Thanks, btw. 👍
  17. Yep. I learned way-back-when that my RF-7s had a jagged frequency response curve, with a couple of impedance dips below 4 Ohms (I also remember reading 3 Ohms, but don't think that was confirmed) and above what would be crossed over to a sub. It seemed that finding a power source rated for 4 Ohm speakers was needed/beneficial since I like to listen loud. That could be a reason so many RF-7 owners would benefit from a seperate amp but also upper-end AVRs (especially THX Ultra II UNITS) fit the bill and that's the route I took.
  18. I'm not sure what's going on but Audyssey works great with our HT and possibly we can find out what's going on with hours. First off, are you using a tripod and are all measurements being taken without boundaries influencing them? Fwiw, you want space between the Mic and everything else and being open to all speakers?
  19. Good for you! Unfortunately the writing was on the wall for raising interest rates and it was bound to happen to keep fiscal policy in balance. We ARE in a growing economy after the pandemic and govenment subsides to address it. Yin & Yang.
  20. You may be correct, but I posted a link above to my previous AVR and it was well built and supplies pleanty of power for most Klipsch speakers and has a good processor. I still think the way to look at it is how much power do your speakers require and what do you want up front? Some AVRs are the perfect fit in one unit ESPESSIALY if you are into multichannel music or movies. {NOTE: I realize this is the 2-channel section, but...}
  21. I am listening to this now on Dvd-A and it sounds crisp and clear in 9.2 using Dolby PLIIz, while enjoying a couple of Belhavens! I swear it sounds like I have a separate rear channel and the bass is thumpin'. 😎
  22. Dude! You purchased Jubs!!!!! Fwiw, I think someone deleted by mistake because you are the market Klipsch should want. We'll see and since I haven't congratulated you before, CONGRATULATIONS for getting some REAL nice speakers and hope I have a chance to hear them somewhere. 😎
  23. I can dig it. Those Audyssey chirps drove me batty when I had to run the program consecutively. The reason is the human ear can detect what direction the higher frequencies come from so if you have 90 Hz+ coming from the sub it becomes directional. Fwiw, for larger speakers that can go lower you can set the crossover lower (Audyssey sets my RF-7s @ 40 Hz but I bump it up to 60 Hz) but it's more taxing on your AVR. {Note: Some people prefer that and it makes their soundstage more seamless. Mine's excellent.} Fwiw, I posted again in your thread because I was curious if there is something different with Atmos vs Dolby PLIIz. Otoh, if someone confirms your crossovers are too low there may be something wrong with your unit or with how you're doing it....Anyone?
  24. If that's the case then it seems someone deleted it by mistake because this was the rule as I understood it: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/211766-crossover-repairs-and-restorations/&do=findComment&comment=2756741
  25. Thanks oldrimer--It was "Clowns and Jokers."
