  1. This was the first really good deal I found at Circuit City. $120.00
  2. Local Circuit City has a display priced at $479. It does not have a remote, manual or mic. Searching the internet indicates this is a good price, but is it worth it without the mentioned parts? Any advice appreciated. Sean I am buying this in gray for $120. http://www.thesimpletvstandstore.com/showproduct.aspx?productid=91&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=feed
  3. Yeah! Fade To Black is bad a**. Metallica- Death Magnetic Good in car not so good at home.
  4. Same for us hear in Louisiana. The sound is really good.
  5. Dave This is very fine work. It sounds like a live performance in my room. There is tremendous detail and clarity with no noise. I can actually hear the pianists movements on his seat and also the foot pedals. You are very talented. This is the best recording I have now. The piano placement on my system is slightly left of center. Is this how it was recorded? Thanks Dave
  6. I'm not a huge fan but I do like these. Moby Dick (Bonham/Jones/Page - instrumental) Whole Lotta Love (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham/Dixon) Black Dog (Page/Plant/Jones)
  7. Sorry, it's my daughters camera and I haven't quite figured it out yet. Lets see if this is better.
  8. Tonight I'm listening to Music Choice smooth jazz. I am totally amazed at how good pianos sound on the LS. These speakers never cease to amaze me.
  9. Well the final product looks pretty good. The box could use fresh paint but I'll save that for another day.
  10. I built my sub to fire down. After some experimenting with placement I prefer it firing to my listening position with the port pointing up. I decided to remove the feet and build a grill. I purchased the grill cloth from parts express and used some left over MDF I had laying around. Orignal position.
  11. Yes indeed. I wish I would have taken pictures when I built mine.
  12. Thanks Dennie. I think I'll go HK. My friend who gave me the LS was running HK with them. Sure sounded good back then! Sean
  13. Well now you've gone and dunnit. After searching I found an HK 3390. It's the same price but 80 watts versus 100. Other features are compatible. What do you guys think? I gonna get one of these. I don't think the 80 or 100 watts would make a difference but I could be wrong. I'll consider this an interim receiver as it will end up in the 16'x24' workshop I'm going to build in the spring. It's all the budget I have right now. I don't think there would be alot of difference. http://www.harmankardon.com/specifications.aspx?Region=USA&Country=US&Language=ENG&cat=REC&ser=∏=HK%203390&sType=S
  14. Thanks wuzzer. I think I'll give it a shot. Looks like 1 year parts and labor versus 2.
  15. You think so? I was hoping it would do. The yard is 16 square feet and the house is 8 square feet. Sean
  16. Technically it's my 10yo daughter. In reality its me. I am now the proud papa of 11 chickens. Just wanted to show you guys the coop I built.
  17. It sure was great! Just wish my integrated didn't die. [:'(]
  18. Has anyone ever owned or demoed this receiver? My old JVC died and I am currently using a sub par 5.0 surround for audio. [:'(] It reviews well but I would prefer hearing from you guys. It has pre-out and zone 2 pre-out plus line level sub out. I have a bud that has a 7.1 Onkyo and it sounds great in pure audio mode. http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=TX-8555&class=Receiver&p=f What do you guys think? Fits my current budget $229 free shipping on Amazon. Thanks
  19. I listened on my 2 channel and it sounded good.
  20. Well I have the day off and and I'm all alone. It has been quite awhile since this has happened. I'm gonna jam for eight hours straight starting with some Van Morrison and work my way up to some metal. By lunchtime the volume will be approaching ridiculous I'm sure. I hope the neighbors don't have the day off too.[<)]
