  1. Of course the 15 wouldn't fit between tbe rafters so I came uo with a plan.
  2. My home came with in ceiling 5.1 surround sound. It is all Sonance spekers with an 8" Sonance subwoofer. It sounds good except for the low bass and effects. I have a 15" home brew subwoofer powered by 1000 watt amp. I decided to make a switch.
  3. I sold my 80's for $800 two years ago. They we were in 8/10 condition with new caps.
  4. I forgot to add that I was listening to old Judas Priest on my newly installed speakers in the BBQ area.
  5. Last nights supper. Big sirloin steaks done medium rare and grilled asparagus.
  6. Thanks man. I spend most of my time out here. It is very relaxing like being on vacation.
  7. This is pretty awesome now. I have a pair of speakers mounted under the covered patio on the left. They are on zone 2 along with the speakers facing the pool and the inside kitchen. To the far right is the fire pit and BBQ area. This will eventually be an outdoor kitchen. This is where I did the install yesterday on zone 3. I now have gap-less music moving around the entire house and back yard. The Onkyo receiver is great for multi zones. The Onkyo app allows me to stream from my Android phone and is great for Sirius and Pandora.
  8. It worked out really well. These speakers actually sound great now. I think the combination of mounting and being in a zone with two other pairs were not letting these speakers shine. They are Sonance 62's.
  9. I had to figure out a way to mount them to soffit so that I could take advantage of the corner.
  10. Well the weather is perfect today down in Houma. I might as well enjoy it. These outdoor speakers were mounted on the back of the house at the pool when I bought it. For some reason they sounded very thin so I replaced them. I currently use two zones on my Onkyo receiver and have a 3rd powered zone, I might as well put it to use.
  11. Not a home brewer. That's my crawfish cooking gear.
  12. I've had this saw for several years also. It never needs adjustment and the fence doesn't slip. Great saw.
  13. I forgot to take pics before I started. I installed a peg board to get a little organized. This place was chaos. Here are some midway pictures.
  14. This cooking technique is a staple of cajun cooking. Modify ingredients and seasoning to your likening and have fun with it. Oh, and drink some beer while you do it.
  15. Hey Jeff. This is what I did. Generously season chicken with Slap Ya Mama and Louisiana hot sauce. (3 Boneless breasts, 4 Bone-in thighs) Line bottom of a large saute pan with olive oil and heat on medium to 350 degrees. Brown chicken on both sides for 5 minutes each. Brown both sides again for 2 minutes each. Remove the chicken from the pan and add 1 large white onion and one medium bell pepper diced. Cook until the onions are mostly brown being careful not to burn the chicken stuff that is stuck to the bottom of the pan. Deglaze the pan with about 8 ounces of white wine. (Chardonnay) Scrape everything stuck to the bottom with a wooden spatula. Once the wine is boiling hard add two bunches of broccoli and and cover for five minutes. Stir the mixture, reduce heat to simmer and cook an additional 10 minutes. Cut the chicken breast into wide strips and add all of the chicken to the pan. Stir and cover 10 minutes or so until the broccoli is cooked but not mushy. Enjoy with rice or french bread.
  16. Yeah I have two daughters and one brings her lunch to school. Usually left overs. I also eat the same thing for lunch. Might as well make a bunch and eat it until it's gone. It's cool that this meal cost $16 to make and we get all this. Pretty healthy as well.
  17. Awesome Duder. About my burgers the other night, my daughter told me they tasted like the burgers at Jack Daniels Grill. I'll take that. Tonight I'm listening to Jethro Tull- Aqualung. Chicken and broccoli is what's for dinner. Edit: Wow, this is more delicious than I had envisioned. Kind of like a french onion soup taste on the sauce.
  18. I'm thinking it was the hdmi board and the TI processor that were replaced. I don't know for sure though. The networking is now flawless. It was far from flawless before. For me, the power is more than enough and the sound is clean and balanced. That's all I can ask for.
  19. Don't rule out 2.1 with LaScalas. The best I have listened to is LS with a quality subwoofer. If I were you I would make sure I had subwoofer output. JMO
  20. If this is the unit that you have been waiting for buy it from A4L. I'll throw this out there. Now that my Onkyo NR717 has been fixed it is quite impressive. Maybe consider an Onkyo with similar specs. You could do a refurb nr818 on a4l for $600.
  21. Sweet. Looks like a deal at A4L. No tax I'm guessing and free shipping.
  22. A quick check on the bay has them at 799 free shipping. Looks like a good deal to me.
  23. I'm curious about the sound on the Yamaha. The specs look nice. It could be a good match for my JBLs. How is the phono stage on this?
  24. It sounds like you are referring to the crossover. You may to do a little more trouble shooting to sort out your problem. Try switching sides on your amp to make sure it's the speaker that is the problem. It could be a wire that came loose inside as well. I don't think it's that easy to blow a crossover.
