  1. I'm pleased with my RW-12d. The digital control is a nice feature. I've never heard the RW-12, but can't believe Klipsch would step backward in tonal quality. IMHO, Go with the current model, the RW-12D.
  2. I have an RW12D. I don't hear any port noise. However, I have read that some folks do hear this noise.
  3. I agree with the above post. But, you didn't mention the RW-12D. I have one, and believe it's a great budget sub.
  4. See this thread: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/117227.aspx
  5. Boy, and the web grand? We can solve anything here. And, yes, I am no fan of boiler plate responses either. This should have been handled like this in the first place.
  6. Why would you open up a old thread covering the exact thing as a current thread already in existence. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/114813.aspx
  7. If it's a rattling sound, and you can stop it with your finger, sounds like something is loose. I have an RW-12d, and am more than happy with it. Btw, you revived a thread that had a post from oldbuckster, may he Rest In Peace. I really miss his comments.
  8. Where did you get it? From a ebay, a reseller in China.
  9. I've got two Harmony devices, a 680 that I've had for a year and a half, and an 880 that I just got. I was replacing the 680, but they are still both in service on the same system. His and Hers, if you will - Don't ask. Anyway, I love them both. The 880 is an improvement in both ergonomics and performance. But, I can't get the 880 to turn on all my devices for two operations. I called Logitech to ask for help, and was informed that the devices I bought, from a reseller in China, were not new, but were refurbished. It looked new to me, and was packaged in brand new Logitech packaging. Logitech has a new policy, and will only provide support for the first 60 days after purchase for a new device. They refused to provide any help. They promised to have a supervisor call me back, which never happened. I enjoyed excellent telephone support from them in the past, now it's abysmal. I can't say I will never buy another Harmony product again, because I probably will, there is nothing else out there that can touch it. But, will I ever buy another Logitech computer input device again - NEVER.
  10. Why do you need a pair of RC62s?
  11. The The only center that is timbre matched to the RF-82 is the RC-62. The RF-52 and the RC-64 are not. Some folks have reported good results with the RC-52, but I have never heard the combo, so I can't say for certain. But, I would go for the RC-62. BTW, that is my combo (RF-82s and an RC-62). The timbre matching is due to the construction of the horn tweeter. The construction and the sonic characteristics of the tweeter used in the RC-62 is the same as that used in the RF-62 and RF-82. The other two use tweeters that are different. I could go on, but, you get the idea.
  12. That's not really what timbre is. You're talking about a Synchronization issue. That should not be a problem with different centers being fed by the same signals from the same receiver of amplifier. Timbre is described by Webster as: "Timbre In music, timbre (pronounced /'tæm-b?r'/, /t?m.b?r/ like tamber, or /'tæm(br?)/,[1] from Fr. timbre t?~b?) is the quality of a musical note or sound or tone that distinguishes different types of sound production, such as voices or musical instruments. The physical characteristics of sound that mediate the perception of timbre include spectrum and envelope. Timbre is also known in psychoacoustics as tone quality or tone color. In other words, a voice or an instrument that sounds different on different speakers has a different timbre depending on the speaker. When speakers are mismatched, that is a problem than can be heard. As the sound passes from one side to the other through the center, you will be able to hear the difference in timbre, if the speakers are not timbre matched.
  13. Well, I'll weigh in here. I wasn't going to, but here goes. I rode a harley up until about a year ago. I have been riding since the 80s. I gave it up because I am older and there is just too much crazy stuff going on out there. Do I miss it, yep I sure do. IMHO, no one who ride should wear headphones, or, again IMHO, should even listen to any sounds (no radio, GPS, etc) no related to riding. There is just too much you have to be aware of, to let your attention stray. I believe when riding that 100% of your facilities need to be used in the process. I remember, when riding I could get lost in the experience and lose some concentration, but when that happened, I tried to alert myself of the dangers involved. Just my 2¢
  14. He can narrow the problem down. If he swaps the speaker wire, and the problem follows the channel, then it's in the electronics. If the problem stays with the first offending speaker, then it's a speaker issue. Lou
  15. Just put the left set of wires on the right speaker and the rights on the left. See if the problem follows the channel or stays with the speaker.
  16. Not if you swap wires only. The effect is the same.
  17. I have had my Harmony 680 for close to two years now. I swear by it. No, I don't swear at it, I swear BY it.
  18. I've got an RW-12d. IMHO, it's a vary musical sub, goes deep and goes well with my equipment. Since it's front ported, it can be placed near a wall. And again, IMO, the electronic controls on the top, make it very easy to change settings. I Like it.
  19. Copy and paste the address I left you in my post above to the address line in your browser, and you'll get to the thread.
  20. Look at this thread: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/50536/1056656.aspx#1056656
  21. The Sub 10 is a down firing sub. However, both the RW-10D and the RW-12D are front firing.
  22. IMO, Shut it off in the Sub. Set your front speakers to small and use the crossover in your receiver. Set that to 80Hz.
  23. In the Home Theater Forum, there is a thread that you should read. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/104733.aspx Thanks
  24. Everyone keeps mentioning The Ear. And with good reason. If this request were posted to the correct forum, The Ear would have seen it and answered it long ago. I will put a link to this forum over there.
  25. That would be pretty cool, if there was one!!!!!!!
