  1. I bought my RF82s from Magnolia within BestBuy and got a healthy discount. However, I needed to buy my RC62 from a web reseller because BB only carries the FC52 center which is not a match for the RF82s. Lou
  2. I'm running a Denon 1907 to drive my RF82s and RC62. For normal listening it sounds fine. I could use a little more headroom, and if I had it to do over again, I would have gotten the 2807. However, my 1907 sounds just fine. BTW. I am bi-amping the RF82s, the Denon allows this. Lou
  3. Uh - Tucson is spelled T-U-C-S-O-N. Lou
  4. But, you have to put the RB81s on stands. RF-62s sit on the floor. I'd go for the RF62s. Lou
  5. I take it that your BB does not have a Magnolia within the store? Magnolia does carry the RF-62 and the RF-82, though they do not carry the correct center, the RC-62, they carry the RC-52. I bought my 82s from Magnolia, and my RC62 from an online reseller. The RF62 falls within your budget. Lou
  6. Your may want to read this. It sums up the current line quite well IMO. http://www.thesoundbroker.com/Klipschreference.htm Lou
  7. Yes - I have a Denon AVR-1907 (No HDMI - In or Out) I am running an HMDI Cable from my Dish Receiver Directly to my Phillips Plasma for the video. I am also running an Optical Cable from the Dish Receiver to my Denon for the audio. Audio will go to the TV speakers, but turn them completly off. Works like a charm. Lou
  8. severoon, thanks so much for your description and explanation. The only problem I have is that you said your 2807 has 4 amplifiers, I believe you ment 7. BTW, I also have a Denon, but only a 1907, and only 85 watts per channel. I'm driving RF-82s with a RC-62 center. Right now they are powered by single 12 guage monster cables with the jumpers still in place. It was always my intention to bi-amp the 82s since the Denon allows this, and I have more 12 guage cable and banana plugs on order to accomplish this. Your discussion with Denon has reconfirmed my decision. Thanks Lou
  9. I bet you're looking in Magnolia @ Best Buy. For some reason they carry the RF-62 and RF-82, but only carry the RF-52 center??? I bought my RF-82s there, and almost succumbed to the RF-52s. I looked on the net, and found a vendor selling RC-62s. It took me two weeks to get it, but the wait was worth it. Follow Klipsch's recommendations, get the RC-62, they sound great with the 82s. Lou
  10. I believe I can make a recommendation here. I have a Denon AVR1907, which is the same, power wise as the AVR787. No HDMI Slots. I have mine hooked up with HDMI going from my satellite (Dish) reveiver directly to my Phillips Plasma, and the sound going from the satellite receiver by an Optical Cable to my Denon AVR. Works great. BTW, I just got my Logitech Harmony remote, Gosh is it powerful.
  11. My experience with them is Yes, they do have sales, on their Home Theater TVs. As far as sound equipment goes. I got nothing off on my Denon receiver, but I was able to negotiate the price of my Klipsch RF82s. They carry the wrong center for them however, and I had to buy the RC62 separately. Lou
  12. eBay is full of RC-7s. Dealers can sell them now on the web because they are discontinued. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=klipsch+rc-7 Lou
  13. I noticed on the Best Buy Map there are four stores in Kentucky. One is in Winchester. If they have a Magnolia in there, they demo and sell the RF-62 and RF-82. If your near them. you may want to audition them there. Be careful however, for some reason they don't carry the proper center channel speaker for those RFs. They carry only the RC-52, and for those speakers you'll want the RC-62. I bought my RF-82s from Magnolia, and my center from a web site. Lou
  14. No - The RF-82 and the RF-62 both have the same tweeter and motor structure. The RC-52 is a match for the RF-52. The RC-62 is a match for the RF-82 AND the RF-62. Lou
  15. Magnolia within Best Buy has the RF Series. They carry the RF-62 and the RF-82 along with the RC-52. I bought my RF-82s from Magnolia (Best Buy) and the RC-62 from the internet. Lou
  16. $295.00 - US, no shipping - Here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RC-35-RC35-Black_W0QQitemZ160055213451QQihZ006QQcategoryZ116197QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Lou
  17. The RC-64 is not supposed to be a match for the RF-62s. It matches the timber of the RF-83 and RF-63. The tweeters are not the same size, nor is the motor structure the same. The recommended center is the RC-62. IMO, I would go with the recommend center. BTW, the RC-64 is a huge speaker, and IMO, would overpower the RF-62s both visually and sonically. The RF-25 is a series III speaker, and the drivers are different in the series IV, as is the internal design of the enclosure, and the crossover. The RF-25s should be priced much less than the newer RF-62s.Lou
  18. I was in the same boat. I'm moving, and haven't set up my system yet. To make a long story short, I bought my RF-82s from Magnolia, and bought a ML Vignette as the center. I immediately thought this to be a mistake. And you kind folks at both this forum, and the ML forum, politely told me so. When I went and studied the matter more, and talked to Klipsch Techs, I knew I was really wrong in my decision, for a number of reasons. I then got a credit from Best Buy for the Vignette. Doing more research, I uncovered that while the tweeters in the RC-52 are the same as the RC-62, the motor structure is not. The RC-62's tweeter is a match for both the RF-82 and RF-62. The RC-52 is a match for the RF-52. I'm not sure how the motor structure would color the sound, But I wanted a matching center. I scoured the web, and found a Brand new "A" Stock RC-62 for $348.00, shipped. It took a week and a half to finally ship, but I got it yesterday. I don't know why Magnolia doesn't carry the correct center, but they don't. RC-62s are out there, they are somewhat hard to find, however. The source for the one I got, only had three, and those are now all gone. I'm happy one was for me. I'm also happy for the advice I received here and at ML. But most of all, I'm happy I got the correct center channel for the RF-82s. Thanks Guys Lou
  19. Yep, I see exactly what you mean. But, if the 2 amps on each side, are only taking care of a limited frequency range, one would think that you would have more headroom (power) in that limited range. I would think that my bass should be stronger, since they are being powered be a different amplifier, and the same with the highs. A Sub has it's own amplifier, and and gets benefit from it. Where am I wrong here? This is all very baffling. (pun intended) Lou
  20. I hear you, but I don't understand??? I am setting up an HT with only front speakers, RF-82s and an RC-62. I also have a Denon Reciever (AVR1907) 85 watts X 7 channels. I am planning on bi-amping the 82s with the scheme you are talking about. Why wont 2X85 give me 170 watts per channel? Four separate amps will be driving two speakers??? What am I missing? Lou

  22. My Wife. She's not a fan of a Surround Sound System, or a Sub. She wants to hear the voices, hence the center speaker. I got her to agree to the Klipsch, and I figure if I bi-amp them, the bass will be stronger. The bass response without bi-amping at Magnolia seemed very good during my audition. Thanks for the responses, I'm still mulling this over. As I said, the Vignette's did sound very good with the RF82s and to my ears realistic. I am however, very worried about the sound (over time) in my home by mixing two brands of speakers that have different sonic properties and efficiencies. Lou
  23. This is my First Post to these forums. Hello Folks. Now my Issue. I hope I'm doing the right thing here. I bought a home theater system last week. I don't have the components yet. It consists of a Denon 85 watt per channel 7.1 receiver, Klipsch RF82s for the sides, and a Martin Logan Vignette for the center. I will be bi-amping the RF82s, and not using a sub or rear speakers, Just the front ones. In the store (Magnolia) we auditioned the system, and to compensate for the inefficiency of the Martin Logan, we increased the volume by 6db on the center channel. I know the Vignette is not sonically the same as the Klipsch, but it sounds so good on the upper end, and seemed go with the RF82s. In the sound room it sounded great. What do you folks think? Let me have it - PLEASE!!! Thank You Lou
