  1. i was called monday this week and told that my sub was repaired and ready to go. picked it up tuesday and tested everything out. everything looks / sounds as is it should. there was no fee since the unit was still under warranty. 2 1/2 months without the sub though is a bit ridiculous...
  2. I too, called Klipsch and they said a shipment arrived monday and the retailer I bought the RW-12D from will have the amp by friday. the wait continues...
  3. $7.00 eh? mind filling a fellow man in??
  4. called the dealer today, and they said the klipsch has still "yet" to ship out the amp. it has now been over 2 months since i brought it in for repair. i thought that we pay good money and buy through "authorized" dealers so we can get top notch service for our "certified" products... hmmm....
  5. it could be done with either of those amps, although you would have to run it in a "series" connection to keep from going to low on the ohm's. i have personal experience with both brands, and i can say the dayton's are pretty decent amps. i would buy a mono channel amp and series the connection to keep the flow even to all bass shakers.
  6. impressed indeed. when i was 14 i was kick'n it with a pioneer receiver and a set of realistic optimus 2's. nice setup btw.
  7. i as well, came back from a week vacation, and find my sub not powering on. worked fine before i left a week ago... so i go out and buy some fuses and try one, and as soon as i turn the power on it pops it. pull out the receipt and find i am 10 days still under warranty. so i loaded it up and went to the dealer i bought it from, nov 2, 09...... as of 12/5/09 i was told the amp was on back order from klipsch, and that it would be mid Dec before Klipsch would get it in, and then i have to wait on shipment to the dealer and repair time. I still do not have my sub back yet. -------
  8. yes, still new home owners. fixed that problem though.... "we now have curtains" woo-hoo! here it is with the grill on... i call it "the battle ready sheild" []
  9. i dunno, whats wrong with it? are we talking about the tv, or dvd player?
  10. wow, a denon and klipsch question with no hits or replies... i am impressed!
  11. well the reason i flagged this post is because i just happen to be looking to buy a set of RF-62's and that is what i also would recommend you do for your setup. will be a great setup.
  12. not the RF-62, but maybe if you were looking into a set of 82's....
  13. for my PC i have a set of RB-81's for fronts and rb-51's for rears... the rb-51's hang from the ceiling with mounts... but i had to adjust the distance in the receiver to get them "balanced" out to sound even for me. the rb-81's on their own can easily drown out the 51's.... My 2 cents..

    RF-82

i am running in a 22x13 on the long end, as well with open ends with kitchen... i went from the rb-81's to the rf-7 for my mains... i have also ventured through a LOT of other brands to get "THE" sound i was listening for.... i will tell you like i tell anyone else... "no one will ever see the footprint that the rf-7's will leave in my house!!!" they are there to stay... in your case, with the open ended room you have, you kinda run into the problem i had. my speakers seemed to have to work really TOO hard to get audible enough to enjoy. NOT with the rf-7's..... they receive power effortlessly... if i you can find a set of rf-7's i for a good price, dont hesitate. but if you have to budget, then look at it as an upgrade in the future.
  15. i have a set of rf-7's for mains in my 22x13 Living Room. and i am running the full 22' from mains to surronds.. "had" a set of quintet's for surrounds, till i noticed they were not playing anymore... the 7's drowned them out to the point i didnt even know they were there... so i upgraded to a set of rs-52's.... i would think in your instance you could "use" the quintet's... then hope for a nice present of a set of rs-42's to go with the rf-52's... My 2 Cents...
  16. i purchased a Denon AVR-1700 receiver from a friend of mine, and I am putting it in the bedroom. I want it for strictly stereo music. i am looking @ a few sets of speakers to match with it. just needed an opinion on what set will have the best reproduction for the budget... Looking at these : Klipsch - RB81, RF52 or possibly the RF-62's if i can swing them.

    RF-82

well, i have the rf-7's along with 2 RW-12d's and i can tell you from experience, the 7's will most likely drown out the rw-10d. as they have 2x 10" mid bass drivers in them each. as for the sound with the outlaws... i have mine bi-amped with my outlaw mono's and the denon receiver... the outlaws power the midbass and the denon powers the horns.. it really makes a big differnce when you can seperate the two from one amp. IMO before i open my mouth for some foot action, what size room are we listening in?

    RF-82

little late in the game here. but as i can see you have a wide taste in music as i do, so i gotta ask ya to audition "michael jackson - dont stop til you get enough".... and dont be shy with the volume!!
  19. can someone do me a great favor of taking a picture of the backside of a Klipsch RS-52 / 62... i am curious if it can be BI-AMPed... ok, what I am "trying" to do here is see if i can use the one set as a REAR SURROUND, and SIDE SURROUND... Thanks, -Mani
  20. ok, i have been looking at the forums and have found a lot of pictures of some really NICE setups. my question is concerning 7.1 and speaker placement. i have noticed that very few use a set of RS-* for their REAR surrounds. but use the RB-* i have a set of RB-81's and they were a bit on the heavy side for my rear surrounds. i am investigating a CEILING mount that can support them. i am about to purchase a pair of RS-52 for my surrounds but i wanted to get some input here b4 i do. would a set of RS-52's sound good as REAR surrounds, or would they "reflect" the sound and make it appear to be coming from a different angle? thanks for all input, -Mani

    RF-7's

I guess I shall through my opinion. I agree with Rick. I ran my RF-7's on my receiver for a while and then decided to try a weird bi-amp theory out. I have been through a couple of amps and wasn't really happy until i hooked up two "outlaw audio m-200" amps. i bi-wired the two 10" woofers to the outlaw audio amps, and the horns to my yamaha htr-5990 Channel A speakers. The sound is wonderful, full, rich bass and the horns will blow you away. I like to listen to my music in 2ch stereo, that is why i usually like to have a stronger bass output from my towers. and boy that extra wattage sure does the trick.. -Mani
