  1. I ran mine with a HK 645, not a problem at all
  2. Call klipsch tech support 1 800 klipsch. I do not know the cost but as refrence I bought RF 3 woofers for $70 each from klipsch
  3. Unless you have an RC 7 with a Dean X-over upgrade, then you would be hard press to hear the difference. I
  4. The 254 HK at $ 499 is right around the same price point. Even in that price range I would still choose the HK it is from far the most accurate in wattage, it would do as good if not better. It also the easiest to program. With Blue ray 1.3 is a must. With a standard dolby digital signal you will not hear a difference between 1.0, 1.2, and 1.3, but only the 1.3 can transmit the loseless signal ( HD DTS, true HD dolby digital) and yes it is clearly an improvement over the normal dolby digital signal. HK once again is not issue concerning the wattage. Regarding the type of speakers needed for the back surround I have done a lot of experiment on that one. Here is my take on it link
  5. Your settings are fine for the X-over part but I think your problem is with the level setting of your speakers. You need to set the distance and the output level too, you will need a SPL meter for the last one.
  6. I would say HK first then Pioneer Yamha and Onkyo last. It does not mean Onkyo is bad just not as good. I base my choice on sound, easy to use, quality and options.
  7. I have no idea what you mean by addiction darn the screen is too small they won't all fit in
  8. A friend of mine suggested that as well. Might be a good option but I don't have a heat torch or whatever you use to heat the tubing. I have always just used a cigarette lighter with heat shrink tubing and it works fine when done with care. I get much better results with an hair dryer. The tubing shrinks evenly and gives you a nicer finish with no risk of burns.
  9. PM is Private message which you can send directly to someone by using the contact function ( on the corner right of your screen) I really hate to tell you this but I just sold the RS 3 this afternoon and I have 2 other people looking at the RC 3. Since I have 4 of them I might still have one left for you if you are interested
  10. link here is a view of the airport link
  11. You need to try to stay with the same line if possible. The RC 3 and the RS 3 are the perfect match for your set up. I have a few of those which I was going t to put up for sale this week end. PM me if you are intersted
  12. Welcome to the forum I really do not want to retype my reply so I ll just post the link
  13. Welcome to the forum. The norm on a 7.1 is wsdt type speaker such the S3 for the sides and bookshelves type for the back surrounds, however a 7.1 set is to be used for rather large rooms. If you have a small room you will do just fine with a 5.1 system. Remember the 2 back surround channels of a 7.1 are created by mixing the surround signals to create the surround back signal which is then split into 2 channels and send to the back speakers. That is how we get a 7.1 out of a 5.1 digital signal, there are very few standard DVD with a real 6.1 digital signal but the pure 7.1 does not exist. A 7.1 system will allow you create a better surround effect for large rooms Blu ray is a different story but nobody has proven yet that the 7.1 signal on the disc is a real signal and not a mixed signal. I have tried different set ups such all RS speakers for sides and surrounds, RS and bookshelves for 7.1, towers all around and even RC type speakers all around. This is what my conclusion was If you do decide to go for a 7.1 I would suggest you use all WSDT type speakers for side and surrounds with a small to medium room, if you have a large room then use WSDT ( S3) for the sides and the bookselves for the back.
  14. I had the RS 42 in my system for awhile, they did just fine. The RS 52 were a small improvement but I have a small room. If I ever get my RS 62 out of there boxes I will let you know how much improvement I noticed.
  15. If you are not to picky about the look of the speaker Imight be able to help link
  16. The RS speakers are made to be used a surround speakers only, the Wide Dispersion Design provides the best sound for rear surround speakers. I'm not familiar with everett, I 'm in carrollton
  17. If you are mainly watching movies, get the RS 42 they are worth the extra $90 The only time I would suggest the use bookshelves speaker type for the surround would be if you are doing a lot of music listening
  18. If you are looking for the cable sleeve, part express has a bunch of them Link
  19. I whish the Mcintosh would be near the price range of the emotiva, I'm getting a hell of a deal but it is not that good I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth it to spend the extra cash for the MC. I'm just affraid that going to such a high level of audio equipement would be a waste for my type of speakers. I really do not have any plans to upgrade my speakers any time soon In simple terms, would that be like putting a corvette engine in ford fiesta, how fast do think I can go?
  20. ROLF Thanks for putting it in terms I can understand. By the way I'm still enjoying that RC 7 []
  21. Yeah I pretty much figured that out, I was just wondering if they are using a different chip. Here is the dealI m getting ready to move up to the emtovia UMC 1/ XP5 combo (I really wanted the XMC 1 but at this rate it will take years before I see it), but I have a one time option to get the Mcintosh gear at a low price. Let's just say I can get them brand new for the same price I would pay for used gear. Would it be worth the difference in price? If I end up buying them and then decide to change again I sure will
  22. I run a 5.1 RF 83 system with a Pioneer elite. I have the opportunity to move to a Mcintosh preamp/ amplifier set up. I'm thinking to get the MX 120 and the MC 205, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with those? What are the differences between the MX 120 and the MX 136 besides the XLR and the hook up? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  23. Great another gadget to add, geez.
  24. I'm really sorry to hear this but it is unlike Klipsch to treat there customers that way. One of the main reason you will find so many klipsch fans in this forum is because of there outstanding customers service, may be you have a miscommunication with there rep or you are not asking the correct question.
