  1. Hi, I'm hoping I can get some help from others here. I just came across a good deal on Cornwall speakers I just bought. It has the K-55-V midrange and K-77-M tweeter. I've just updated all the parts on the crossover type B and I'm thinking about changing the midrange and tweeter to a higher quality titanium drivers I see listed at partsexpress.com and usspeakers.com and I'm wondering if anyone has done this as a drop in replacement that doesn't require changing the crossovers. If I get the titanium compression drivers for the midrange and tweeter and get the same near values as the Klipsch drivers, such as keeping the sensitivity, ohms, and frequency range near the same, will this allow me to changes this parts without making any changes to the crossovers? Will this work? Any suggestions to upgrading to a better woofer that will work with this too? I just don't know enough about how to do this and curious if matching up values will allow me to change these parts without re-working the crossovers. Much thanks to any help any one can give me!
  2. WolfsBane quote: He calls today's Klipsch lineup "cheesy". I say the only thing cheesy is his comments he likes to make in that manner. I've seen him going on and on and on and on and on in so many different audio forums I've come across lately and I have Klipsch RF-7 and Klipschorn speakers and he's a bunch of BUNK! I just laugh and move on because I don't agree with him with his negative comments about Klipsch. Maybe he's never had a great setup with Klipsch, or if he did, he wouldn't talk like that!
  3. [/quote user=Piranha] I don't think anyone should ever kiss a** or one isn't being true to themselves, and no one should ever worry about post counts than being more honest and helpful, I mean that should be what is the most important, to help others, to learn from others, and to enjoying being yourself, accepting others for who they are and not worry about counts, that might add to more quanity than quality, but we are living in a much different world than 50 years ago, I think when people didn't just think about themselves so much as today!
  4. Hello All Again, I have been enjoying very much my RF-7 titanium HF and metal cones. I love the little finer detail these give out in the music than my Klipschorn Phenolic diaphragms. Someone mentioned to me that he changed his Phenolic diaphragms for his HF and Mid to the titanium diaphragms and was very pleased with the improvements. I would like to change my Klipschorn's to the titanium version diaphragms for both the HF and Mid. Can anyone please tell me how I do this and what to order from Klipsch to do it, or how this is being done? He said that the Pro-Audio Klipschorn's use the titanium and I would have to use that to do it but that my 2002 Klipschorn's use a different HF and Mid to use the newer version for mine but I don't know much about how to do this. Can anyone please help me out so I can change mine to the titanium version diaphragms? I would much appreciate the helps!
  5. Jay481985, if you don't mind, could you tell me where you found that deal for RF-7? Is that A stock or B stock? For that kind of deal, I would buy another pair of RF-7 to build a second system upstairs. Is this ok for me to ask?
  6. Now that I'm thinking about, I'm thinking Klipsch should keep the RF-7 line for those who like it more in your face, and the RF-83 for those who like it more refined. That would give good choices to each our taste! []
  7. Very nice setup! Many are going to envy you!
  8. The RF-83 sounds very sweet too, very nice. It's more refined to my ears compared to the RF-7. I liked the way the RF-7 sound wasn't as refined and more of what I like. It's going to be a personal choice for sure.
  9. I have to agree here on that, I love the way the RF-7 sounds "as is" and would never change the sound for myself. I too would be afraid to change the sound in any way, I'm very pleased the way Klipsch made the RF-7 sound, never want to change it for myself. I feel in love with the RF-7 sound! I'm very happy the way Klipsch made the RF-7 and never dream of changing it's sound. It works great with my gear. I never would change my Klipschorn sound either and I see here some like to tweak them too. The way Klipsch did it, is good enough for me!
  10. It's going to be subjective as they say, and personal taste for each people. For myself, I did listen to the RF-83 and the RF-7 before I bought my RF-7 speakers and I prefered the RF-7 better so that is why I bought RF-7 speakers, I got a ok deal on mine but not as good as Jay481985 mentioned!
  11. Where, I want a deal like that!!!! I will buy another pair of RF-7's at that price!
  12. I never watch it, just flip right to the next channel when it's on. There's always some much more educational documentary on satellite that I would much more prefer to watch so I never get sucked into the drama on American Idol.
  13. Did I see this twice or am I seeing things? I just ignor the bashings and just keep enjoying the Klipsch sound! You will be better off just ignoring the people who bash Klipsch, they don't know what they are talking about!
  14. I just ignor the bashings, I just write it off as they don't know what they are talking about, or possibly heard Klipsch speakers not properly setup to enjoy it's sound. Real Klipsch users know how good Klipsch really are! Sometimes there is a bunch of fud on the internet and you can't really take them seriously because how can you really validate it? I just enjoy my Klipsch and ignor the bashings.
  15. dang, I hope that never happens to mine. Makes me nervous hearing that! Never thought that could happen to the K-33. When you buy a part from Klipsch like that, does it come with a warranty?
  16. If you have a light that is on a dimmer switch, it can cause hum sometimes I think, I had a dimmer in the living room and noticed some hum in my Klipschorn's and finally found out why it did, as soon as I turned off the light dimmer in that room, the hum disappeared. Now when I listem to music, I have to make sure that light is off. I don't know why it does it.
  17. A ways back when I checked on the Klipsch website, the RF-7 was listed under the discontinued products, now I just noticed that the RF-7 is no longer listed in the discontinued list but under the available floorstanding speakers on the website. I'm new here so maybe I have missed something? Is the RF-7's no longer discontinued anymore and now still available? I hope so! I don't think Klipsch should discontinue it, keep it around for a long time!
  18. Nice! Congrats! Klipsch speakers will really hook you in for life with their sound! I LOVE Klipsch speakers!
  19. Nice! McIntosh sure has a strong following.
  20. There's a diamond on each 60th Klipschorn at the bottom? I just read this on a website search on the 60th. anniv. I never heard that, is it all 60th anniver. or custom? I can't find the 60th anniv. on the Klipsch website?
  21. The 60th Anniv. Klipschorn's are very nice looking speakers. Love the combo of that type wood and grill colors. Love to have a set! Never had the honor to see a pair in person. Closed backs really have me curious how it sounds like that! Are they still available? Are they offered to the US? Love to see a pair but the dealer here only has the regular Klipschorn's in his show room.
  22. jacob, I'm running SS amp and pre-amp with 500wpc. It's slightly on the warm side of sound and somewhat tube like that goes well with Klipsch for both the Klipschorn's and RF-7 that smoothes the HF nicely. They were expensive gear but the Klipshorn's led me to that path to get the best from them, but in the end it was worth the upgrade and I've been happy with the gear.
  23. meagain, I do get great bass from my Klipschorn's and it's impressive. I have perfect corners for them in a large room and the bass is full and punchy but it's a more relaxed bass than the RF-7. The RF-7 has a more hard hitting punch bass that is more punch that is not as relaxed as the Klipschorn's, for my setup that is. The Klipschorn's are 25 feet apart and my listening position is 35 feet away in center. I have the RF-7 setup about 17 feet apart and about 5 feet from the wall, and toed in how Klipsch recommends, and listening position is the same 35 feet away in center. The Klipschorn's are snug into the corners that fit a perfect fit. The RF-7 have lots of bass output for me, I was really surprised but I'm using a 500watt per channel amp with them that is somewhat tube like but is a SS amp and pre-amp. I'm not running tubes anymore.
  24. Oh, one more thing. The RF-7 are just as important to match up with sources, just as the Klipschorn's are. It took me about 1 year to find the right choice for the Klipschorn's to sound as nice, smooth, and airy as they do. The RF-7 still sounds like Klipsch, like it's LIVE and REAL like you are there more, like Klipsch speakers are.
