  1. One of the below; 1. When production ends. 2. When you are sorry you got rid of them. 3. When the wife says they are butt ugly. Dave 1 & 2 are correct so they must be vintage. I always thought they were prudy.
  2. Normaly the dill gets cut into quarters long wise not the whole pickle, but she could know this.[]
  3. When does vintage start?? I had a pair of KEF 104/2 that were the start of my journey and really got me into hifi. Really miss those.
  4. Probably a regional thing, the Father in law always used Fatback. Pickle is prety normal though I think.(Just asked my colleuges and they know them without, go figure. We are in Hannover) I just did some research and they are called "Nach Hausfrauen Art" sorta like "how the homemaker makes them". There are a lot of different recepts though. Try one with pickle, kosher dill works best. You could like it. What I do not like though is when they put in ground beef, not my cup o tea.
  5. +1 Only original filled with pickle, onions, dab o mustard and fatback. See if you can get her to make Knödel (spoke knoedel ) the potatoe dumplings. That is the real deal!!! We love Rotkohl (red cabbage) in our house. Made with white wine and apples. If you can find one try a Kellerbier this is an unfiltered lager, usually very hops strong. Goes great with heavy meals!!!
  6. Normally yes they are beef only if they named them Pferderouladen is it horse. Tastes simular just a little gamy.
  7. How much do you have to pony up for that? About 14 bucks a Kilo if you are interested here is a website where that is their specialty. http://www.rossfleischversand.de/shop/index.php?cPath=18&osCsid=50ce174cf1cd33823c0ad59f9cd508f3 I don´t think they send to the states though.[]
  8. We may soon enough. http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/12/02/US-horse-slaughter-for-meat-may-resume/UPI-62611322855884/ We still get horse here. One of the better sellers is the "Rossbratwurst" (Horse brat), that we get at the festivals. Rouladen from shank is also very good. Somehwhat an aquired taste though.
  9. Sion is still not all that good on a leash, for some odd reason she heels better without one. She does not pull much just likes to circle us a lot. I have been told some Malis just have this in their blood but have no idea myself. Without a leash she just about sticks on my leg, go figure.
  10. He is looking good there!!! How is his personality coming along??
  11. And maple syrup, try it youll like it!!
  12. I would say yes, I am no expert but have transfered many Casettes from the 80´s into Digital (Thanks Mallet for tips and tricks in many threads, it has helped). One which sticks in my mind is Leo Kottke - A Shout Toward Noon, recorded on Metal with my then Nakamichi RX-505 from LP and I cannot tell the cassett and the Digital appart. If we can send a sonder to the Mars I think it would be possible to capture all the magic of Old Lps.
  13. I got a lot of first hand reports from brothers in arms when I was in the service, not a good chapter in our history at all. Many of them got an Article 15 and was told to take it with a grain of salt from the CO because they wore their Dress on leave. In regard to how the troops are looked upon now I think the general populace learned from the Korea/Vietnam era and learned that the liberties given to call troops names and spit on them are the same liberties these troops fight to defend. Soldiers are the last who want a war and the first to fight it.
  14. I will offer myself and go to McD´s to eat a Mc Rib at lunch in honor of the McNastybits who cannot be eaten in the US. It is a hard job but someone has to do it. Wish me luck.
  15. I hear ya,when I told my doctor "That what does not kill me only makes me stronger." He told me "Yea, but that does not count for your liver so lay off the beer for a week or two."
  16. I have no idea why the people do not want the nasty bits anymore. Tripe and stomach make a nice soup and I just love heart grilled!!!! The only thing I dont like personally is liver and brains but that is just me.
  17. Havent we been eating that in hotdogs all along?? Yep but I can live without a fake rib sandwich but I love hotdogs and sausage. I don't know why but i do love a good hotdog or 3. Me too, just with kraut and a good mustard, I think it is either the hooves or snouts. I have heard it makes them much tastier!!!!
  18. You poor poor people, the Mc Rib is a staple on our menu here, yesserie bub I can walk in any time I want the get one. Are you jealous now??[]
  19. It is all a matter of what you use, when I first came here I thought Miles, Yards, feet, inches to the fractions. Degrees F was also my comfort zone. After 24 years here I think Kilometers, Meters, centimeters, millimeters and I can relate to the degrees C better now. To be honest I am happy I do not have to convert fractions any more (when building). The rest of American culture has seeped into the rest of the world, I don´t think that the metric system seeping into America is that bad.
  20. You ARE talking stevia here? Dave [*-)] ahhhh yeah setvia right I was talking about stevia, ahm yeah right.... now where are my twinkies??
  21. Dharma has really nice eyes, nice color. The hip is not as extreme as a "good show dog" so be happy. But, the "normal" dip is there. A good way to check is with a level, calculate the angle and the more it is to the "wanted" 23 degrees the more possibility of problems, most of the time this comes with age. She is looking good though. I will have to try to get pics of Sion up tomorrow.
  22. I've never had access to the "thing itself," but sounds worth a try. I am a lifelong ice/lemon/tea drinker to the point that I will drink tea unsweetened if I have no lemon for it...though it ain't the same. When I lived in Singapore I was delighted to find that "icelemontea" was a local favorite, though expensive and no free refills, as well as very little ice. However, it was WAY over sweet and strong, so I'd order up a large glass of ice and mix it half and half with water. Perfect, and one free refill! Dave We have several plants and 2 to 3 leaves is enough for about a half a gallon of lemon tea.
