  1. I agree with Bill H. The WF seemed very clean, clear and crisp. The XF seemed a little bass heavy to me, but I was comparing theXF in 2 channel to the WF in a full surround mode. Both sounded very good, but I preferred the WF.
  2. That is not at all what I meant in this post. This product has a great deal of extension. They did very well with both music and movies. I was very impressed that the big box stores would have a speaker line of this quality. I think these speakers should sell themselves to anyone who is looking for a quality sound system and very attractive speakers as well. My final sentence was directed more to the fact that every time I am in a Best Buy the sales people are steering people away from all the options they have and showing them the Bose display. It seems to be the only speakers they know how to demo.
  3. This product should rock the Best Buy world. To get this much clean sound with the Klipsch signature at this price point, people should be standing in line. I only hope the sales people at Best Buy can learn to demo these instead of pushing Hose.
  4. As a first time attendee to the Pilgrimage, I want to say thank you to everyone for a great time. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the hospitality is remarkable. I really did feel like part of the Klipsch family. The old guard was quick to accept a newbie and to answer questions or give their perspective. I met a lot of wonderful people who I hope to spend more time with in the coming years. Dave
  5. Travis, Congratulations! It was really nice to meet all of you. I am very happy that you won those Palladiums. I know you will enjoy them. Dave
  6. Roger, I am from Brownsburg and would like to stop by for a while on Friday night. Please put me on your list. Thanks, Dave
  7. I agree. I took that approach when I upgraded and after 14 months I am finally complete; or is that just an illusion... Is anyone ever complete in this hobby??[*-)]
  8. I have RF-7's and RC-7 as well. My surrounds were 4 x RS25's while I was upgrading. I went through the same questions about 4-6 months ago. Some very helpful friends on the forum explained to me that the blending (timbre matching) is important for the L-R-C of your front stage. You have that covered. If you stay in the Reference line, they will blend. It was suggested to me that the RS-62's are a new design and have a greater enveloping design. Bottom line - I bought the RS-62's and they sound great. By the way, I live in Indiana as well. Dave
  9. I spoke with a Klipsch rep a few months ago regarding the same question of RS7 vx RS62. They stated that RS62's are a better speaker and work well with RF7's. I have not upgraded my surrounds yet, but plan to buy 62's based on their input.
  10. I have RF-7's with an RC-7 and I use an SVS 20-39 PC plus. I have the volume pretty low and it blends very well with the 7's. I use the AVIA disk to set up the system and it sounds seemless. The SVS is very smooth and never boomy. In some scenes it goes so low that it is a guteral sound that scares off the women and children. Just kidding, but it will get everyone's attention. I have nephews 6 & 3 and they never bother it at all. The design is different and the driver is out of sight, out of mind. I am very happy with my choice. You may want to check the B-stock listings on the sight. I got my sub for $100 off because the guy who ordered it first, didn't realize that a 39" tall cylinder would not fit under his projector screen. []
  11. I had a Yamaha RXV2500 and recently replaced it with an Emotiva DMR-1. This receiver is better than any receiver I have heard before. It has plenty of power to drive your speakers. It is on sale for $999 and has a high quality processor at the heart of the unit. I highly recommend that you take a look at www.emotiva.com. By the way, Emotiva offers a 30 day in home trial so you can decide for yourself if it's right for you. Dave
  12. I have the Dish and purchased a clip on from Rat Shack 2 years ago for $26. I pull in all of the local HD channels fine with it. I am about 15 miles from downtown Indy, but up to 30 miles from a couple of towers. It has worked well for me. Dave
  13. If you are looking for HDMI 1.3 and the HD audio codecs, Emotiva will be releasing their next generation of pre/pro's at the end of the year.
  14. Thank you very much for the information. I apologize to everyone on the board for my outburst. I try to be positive in all of my postings and had just recently had that experience. I should have taken a breath before I hit post. [:$]
  15. I actually called to order a pair from acousticsounddesign and they do not have any RS-7's, even though they list them on their website. They substitute RS-61's since they can no longer get RS-7's. I asked why they list them if they do not have them and they responded that it has something to do with only being licensed as an online dealer. ?? Does not make sense to me.
  16. Southern Where did you order those RS-7's from? I have been looking for a pair for a couple of months. Thanks, Dave
  17. This would be a bit of a drive so I would email first. I have done business with Paul at Sound Ideas Stereo in Gainesville and found he and Rob to be great to work with. His email is - PaulB@SoundIdeasStereo.com I have no affiliation other than I purchased an RC-7 from him and he shipped it double boxed and perfect to Indianapolis area.
  18. Hey Fish, How does that LMC-1 work with your 7's? Lonnie said that they had some complaints with 7's humming and so he did not recommend it as a good fit. I am still thinking about buying one. What is your experience?
  19. Hi Youthman, Try looking in Home Theater Magazine or any of the others. They always have ads for home theater supply companies. I found one on a quick search of an old edition I had near the computer. stargatecinema.com Good luck, Dave
  20. I don't know about the LPA-1, but I have a MPS-1 driving my Reference 7's with a Yamaha RX-v2500 for a processor. Since I received some help with the manual setup on the Yammie, it sounds great. I bet you would be very happy with the LPA-1. Emotiva is great to work with. Most of the time you speak with Lonnie or Dan. They are very straight shooters. I was considering the LMC-1 as a temporary processor until the new processor releases next year. Lonnie told me it would not be a good fit with 7's. No nonsense - straight advise and great performance.
  21. Has anyone had experience with a Yammie 2500 manual setup? I have one and I want to make changes to the setup manually, but when I try it reverts back to the YPAO settings. I am sure there is something simple that I am overlooking, but right now I am frustrated. Appreciate any help you can offer.
  22. I purchased a Denon 955 (same as 2910) about 4 months ago from onecall.com for $349 new in box. It is everything that audioholics.com says it is. I have been very happy with it as a DVD or CD player, not to mention DVDA and SACD. IMO this unit does everything quite well for the price point. You can find 2910's and 955's on ebay. The only difference in the units is the original supply channel.
  23. I purchased 4 RS-25's and an RW-10 from AVB Direct about 16 months ago. I called them direct and checked stock availability before ordering. They were very customer service oriented and shipped fast. All products were new in sealed box from factory. I was very happy with them because I was looking for best price at the time and not concerned with warranty. Now that I have starting upgrading, I only buy through Authorized Klipsch Dealers. AVB is good, BUT they are not an Authorized Distributor. NO FACTORY WARRANTY!
  24. I have recently upgraded to RF-7's and RC-7. I have had no luck finding a pair of RS-7's in black. Has anyone tried RS-62's with 7's? I am thinking they might match better than RS-35's. Also, I have a 15 x 25 HT room. I am considering an SVS 20-39 PC-Plus. Is this a good match with RF-7's?
  25. If you are looking for a good price on an RC-7, try Paul at SoundIdeasStereo.com. He had several A-stock and B-stock available a couple of weeks ago when I got mine. I cannot believe the difference in sound quality and dynamic range. []
