  1. I was, ahem, a few days late this year..... Better late than ever.... just wasn't into Black Friday pawn shop crawlin'. The pawn shop I mentioned in this thread has either moved or closed. I hope moved. It did go down hill quite a bit when the normal guy relieved the guy who normally worked there of his duties. He liked to deal, scored a nice Trombone for Alea "Shorty", which we've called her since before we've heard of Trombone Shorty (still no Trombone Shorty in our collection.... (sigh)). But I think it was the owner who pointed out the Led Zeppelin and Nirvana? boxed sets. $20 for the minty 4 CD Zep box. Couldn't pass that up. A couple of years later didn't want less than $40 for one of Clapton's 4 CD crossroad box sets. Or maybe less than $30? Or even $20. Not as nice, and well, I've had to be a bit frugal at time. Too much music, too little time and $$$$. Yep. And miss Harry as well. The last time I called him, the guy who had the phone gave me a number that worked. I don't think I reached Harry with that when I tried to call later. Michael I don't think has talked to or seen him in quite a while either and his health has not been good for quite a while. Harry, or maybe Michael (Colterphoto1) told me he was giving up his email and other computer stuff and maybe even his cell phone? Prayers for Harry that he's well and kickin' some ***.
  2. RIP Rob. Gone but not forgotten. Goodbye my friend.
  3. Ddduuuddeerrr mannng. How many times do you have to drop and break things after a head banger show to learn your lesson? The whole body vibrating to the beat, including the hands and fingers, it's hard to hang onto even the steering wheel.... The first act stole the show? Were they that good or did the sound engineer forget to apply the opening act EQ? #ColterSpeak
  4. So I'm not losing my mind (that's debatable...) My post count has shrunk substantially but may be expected. I guess that means a lot of my posts were in things that mysteriously disappeared.... maybe weren't important enough to get into the new database. I may have lost out on the recount. But does it really matter. Not like I'm trying to catch up with Michael.
  5. Happy Birthday Fini! May yoube doubly blessed on your next trip around the sun.
  6. From a windows machine? It's a feature. MS RAID (Random Acts of Insanity Daily)
  7. But you don't look a day over 29 and not at all like 29 v15. Happy Birthday! May you be doubly blessed and all your dreams and fantasies come true during your next trip around the sun.
  8. I'd be willing to take the black one's off your hand of any size. You might want to try out the smaller size.... just push 'em in further. Billybob may be interested as well. I'm not sure for what he's volunteering? Richard (aka Coytee) is a volunteer in that he lives at least part time I think in TN?) P Thump said the black are thinner and more comfortable than the clear. Look cooler too. I'm kind of surprised they don't make the gels in colors to match the 'phones.
  9. Happy Birthday Chad! May you be doubly blessed and your Klipsch keep on rockin' on your next ride around the sun.
  10. Started a thread for Klipsch Karma ... we help each other a lot and it comes back around... or maybe those that try to take advantage of the Brothas and Sistas in Klipsch get paid back. Looking for a padded envelope to shop the prize to the winner of my RTM Take Her Easy contest. I fond a CD shipper from Tennessee. Yep, from that pesky, rascally, and lovable, volunteer with an obsession for Marie Osmond, dressed in his best Marie drag, he may think he IS Marie. And also a rather odd ear lobe fetish. RA, his initials to protect the (not so) innocent, aka The Court Jester of The Land o' Klipsch, a very early owner, I'm sure one of the first, top o' the line Custom 3. Probably has an extra set or 2 squirrelled away in case he loses his in a dice game, or is robbed of them at gun or knifepoint, or the unlikely event that he would destroy them, posted he couldn't use the small ear gels as he his ginormous ear canals (that may have something to do with the unhealthy ear lobe fetish? as the earlobes belong to the Queen o' the land o' Klipsch, aka Klipsch Forum Den Mother emeritus aka cheif Klipsch Forum Cat Header Emeritus... Anyway Coy-o-tee-o sent me these as he couldn't use them. Our youngest is the other charter member of SECS ( Small Ear Canal Society ) and maybe the only other member. Both allegedly using the mythical extra small ear gels. They really did exist at one time but having been made of unobtanium, the supply has ran out and truly cannot be found. (fuzzy photo not at all to scale ... small single and small double....) (sorry for the poor image quality - but the lack ear gels apparently are made of unobtanium as they are no longer available. Or they cost a few cents more. P Thump has no idea why but did say they are a bit more thinner and therefore more comfortable.... time to start a "petition" to being back the bad ear gels.) So far so good. All good Karma.... and it continues, The winner of Take Her Easy, gets a bonus surprise with his prize. I have more I could add to KlipschKarma from the past so will have to wait ... off to get an oil change and run some errands. #KlipschKarma #EarLobeFetish #SECS

Mike's performs at least a couple of charity events in town per year along with sponsoring Knocker's For Rockers (typo lol) which unfortunately is for his sister in law this year. Good karma said it will raise more money than usual... . 48 deg Sunday morning in sunny Kokotucky... Ok the sun was coming up over the corn out back of our vinyl lined steel pond... Our youngest daughter told us last night Opus, and more so Bill, but even Open kind of frightens her with the late night moon or any light reflecting off his eyes. and Bill.... well in her words.. Missed Bloom County and Outland, gone too soon. But Garfield is still going strong. "Met" Bill Davis, Garfield creator at a book signing when book 2 came out as he had a signing party at bookstore in Muncie in "The Village" on the edge of Ball State University campus. I had a Garfeld book first printing. I brought in a bag with receipt. Jim happily signed both. And commented where'd you get this? Picked it up at the Ball State Bookstore and couldn't put it down I kept laughing so hard.. Probably almost until I cried. . So I had to have it.. Might have been on the sale table. No more than $4.95. Naturally I got volume 2. And I think 2 of the large Garfield Christmas posters but not for me, Mid, Marg and Skeeter a 30+ lb all white So why can't you have a cut and cuddly stuffed toy. Like Garfield. It Occurred to me that thinking about that

  13. Well, from a looks perspective, you'll probably do better than Harry Chapin's Harry Crane .... Harry Chapin "Mail Order Annie" Lyrics: At first I did not think it could be you. But you're the only one that got off the train. So you must be my wife Miss Annie Halsey Yes, I guess I am your husband, Hello I'm Harry Crane. Mail Order Annie, never mind your crying. Your tears are sweet rain in my empty life. Mail Order Annie, can't you see I'm trying To tell you that I'm glad you're here, You are the woman who's come to be my wife. You know you're not as pretty as I dreamed you'd be, But then I'm not no handsome fancy Dan. And out here looks are really not important. It's what's inside a woman when she's up against the land. Mail Order Annie, never mind your crying. Your tears are sweet rain in my empty life. Mail Order Annie, can't you see I'm trying To tell you that I'm glad you're here, You are the woman who's come to be my wife. You know it's not no easy life you're entering. The winter wind comes whistling through the cracks there in the sod. You know you'll never have too many neighbors. There's you Girl, and there's me, and there's God. You know I'm just a dirt man from the North Dakota plains. You're one girl from the city who's been thrown out on her own. I'm standing here not sure of what to say to you 'Cepting Mail Order Annie, lets you and me go home. Mail Order Annie, never mind your crying. Your tears are sweet rain in my empty life. Mail Order Annie, can't you see I'm trying To tell you that I'm glad you're here, You are the woman who's come to be my wife.
  14. Happy Birthday TNR! May you be doubly blessed and your amps run cool and your speakers play sweet tunes on your next ride around the sun.
  15. Are we ever really successful at this task? But we keep on tryng.... too stubborn I guess to admit defeat.
  16. Our dentist, Valerie's hygenist Cami (short for Camille I think, or maybe Kimmie?) is her younger sister. Valerie started out doing the cleaning herself when she opened her own practice. I guess until Cami (I need to pay better attention... but Valerie is not at all unattractive with a sweet voice and beautiful eyes...) finished dental hygenist school. Cami is also rather easy on the eyes. (real first names so I'll not claim to have been worked over....though some of Valerie's client's were of the mindset if I wasn't already married ... probably the same with Cami too but it's not like we talked about the hot dentist a lot at work) Dr Valerie started out at another office here in town and then opened her own practice in a nearby town as she couldn't open a competing practice in the same town or within x number of miles for y years, maybe 5. We followed her to the nearby town, I think Valerie said 20 minutes. That was probably pretty optimistic, south side of town with good traffic could probably be done from her first Kokotucky office. Probably 30 from the office she opened here in Kokomo. She kept the other office and works 2 days in the other and 3 here in KTown. Her other office does have a much more up to date digital xray which is kind of cool as one can see the xrays right away on a good sized monitor. Still uses the little films at the Kokomo office. I asked a co-worker shortly after arriving in town and they recommended Valerie. She's a very good, gentle dentist. My wife used to be terrified of going to the dentist but not to Valerie. Kids never had a problem. Our oldest daughter I think after Valerie had first opened her office here in Kokomo had back to back cleaning appointments the same day. Elyse went first. Then dear old dad. Valerie had Elyse sit opposite me and suction the gunk out and thought that was so much fun and so cool. Not sure I've ever heard of a kid ever being excited about going to the dentist. Thankfully the gunk scraped off of my teeth didn't gross her out too much.
  17. Not a clue. Don Ho and the Coconuts
  18. You're not considering that "This price is considerably less than the $9,000 MSRP price tag." statement in his ad. I thought $9,000 was the price now. Today's Klipschorns are a steal if the price is the same as 1977.
  19. Is it too late to write in for Bill The Cat for Forum Moderator. He's pretty mellow. Toss him a tee shirt or some black heroin to groove to and he's pretty mellow. Sidekick Opus the penguin with ginormous nose can help keep him on track. No herring bribes required. He's happy to keep Bill happy and occupied. Kind of depressed as the anticipated reunion of Billy and The Boinger's hasn't yet happened. And yes. Bill has no account but he's kind of shy but would relish something meaningful to do and signup in a kitty heartbeat if given the opportunity.
  20. On several different levels I'm kind of wondering if Boxx really has the availability, focus, or may be too distracted for this Forum Moderator position and responsibility ... On the other hand.... with all this time with Mrs Olsen...
  21. Now they are just running amok. THANKS A LOT For over 26 years with humongous international computer services company, 5 4 19, that had the Cat Herder commercial, with real cowboys and cats. Nobody had any idea what we did or who we were... but loved the commercial. The next one that I think virtually nobody saw was rebuilding a large passenger jet in mid flight which was pretty cool, followed by the Running Of The Squirrels commercial which was probably seen even less made one think the ad agency was smokin' or snortin' some sort of recreational pharmaceutical product. So I'm a cat herder too. Just the cats are different.... trying to get client requirements for any IT project before the expect you to build a new system or enhance it or keeping their requirements in line with their budget... paying for a Yugo, expecting a Corvette. Chad. Amy may not have told you, but you can't herd cats. It's impossible. Amy did do a very good job of keeping us ornery kitties of the Klipsch cattery in line but cats as any cat servant knows, cats will do what they want. The best you can do is persuade and distract them. Your work is cut out for ya mang. Maybe some Klipsch treats every now and then will distract us from our ornery running amok way. lol 5 4 19, founded by that crazy little Texan with big ears that loved pie charts who ran for POTUS a few years back.that was later swallowed up by an even more ginormous computer hardware company, 8 16 for the past 2 to 4 years. A short work exile before my "retirement" date didn't help in the gather up and organize all the documentation I'd created over the years so my soon to be former co-workers had a clue about the stuff I did they didn't know much about and often didn't want to learn. I now work for a relatively small computin' machine contracting firm as a sub contractor on state of Indiana FSSA eligibiligy project, basically backfill for the people building the newer "better" server based system that probably was supposed to be completed in the next few months. Location not so bad with the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art across the street to the west on the canal walk. I did get to amble through the recent Ansel Adams exhibit at lunch a few times and with a couple of friends so that was kind of cool and got a membership for my wife and myself as it wasn't much more than if all 4 of us would go but unfortunately the family didn't make it downtown. The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center is accross the street to the north also on the canal. The NCAA Hall of Fame or museum, Indiana State Museum, White River State park, Lucal Oil Stadium, Victory Field, The Fieldhouse, Circle Center Mall, etc are all nearby. So if y'all are in downtown Indy or comin' this way, let me know. We can hit the Eiteljorg for free (I'm essentially a minion for the state...) as I can take a guest as can my wife. Are you related to Thebes. Might be twin sons of different mothers... . or just twins separated at birth. In any case, family members for both of us said we were dropped on our heads as infants when delivered by the STORK. Draw your own conclusions.

  23. Brothers In Arms CD is one of the best sounding CDs I have. The remastered version that I also have is even better sounding. Michael (Colterphoto1) says numerous live sound engineers use Brothers In Arms for listening tests of their rigs. He now uses the remastered version as he says that sounds even better. I'd love to get a 30th anniversary edition as I think it's supposed to sound even better. Maybe more the DVD than the CD but the Eagles' Hell Freezes Over sounds really good to me.
