I had a lucky day Tues. I found a sealed Classic records 200gm Led Zeppelin IV at my local record store for $30. They sell on eBay for over $200!

Return with me now to those thrilling days of yesteryear ...

I recorded some music onto cassettes using a Nakamichi deck. It was every bit as good as good vinyl. Most cassette decks were crap... and doomed to failure.Bruce I still use a Nakamichi, and have a lot of NOS metal tapes. The sound is great!! -
I don't know about the one's you're asking about, but this Marantz on A'gon is pretty nice for the price. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgtabl&1317439694&/Marantz-6300

There are also good and bad pressings in vinyl. All the cleaning in the world won't help an album that sounded like crap hot off the press.

Looking at your gear makes me wish I hadn't sold My Diva II. It's a wonderfull table for the price.

Shame on Apple and OS lion, no Front Row, what are they thinking?
nu2toobs replied to BBZink's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Apple TV plays movies, music, podcasts directly from your host computer, be it your laptop or desktop, wirelessly via Itunes. You can also logon to Youtube or Apple's servers to watch content on demand through the Apple TV hardware. This a great improvement in energy saving, running a computer for database, buy a product i don't need! and than have the ability to listen my music, because of a lousy programmer at apple and marketing manager who want big bonuses! Apple a green compagny, We want your dollar as green as they are! It sounds like you should switch to windows then, since they are "greener". -

Except for the two that came DOA this summer. That's TWO out of 17. Not very good at all. That sucks, I agree that their hardware isn't anything special, but their design is second to none IMHO. They're built at the same places many other computer brands are built, with the same parts. One thing they have going for them is they control their hardware, which keeps the chances of having software conflicts to a minimum. Since I've completely swithched to Mac, my headaches have diminished due to their OS. That said, I haven't tried anything on Windows past XP. -

I went to an Apple TV box and haven't looked back. You don't need a computer connected to your intertainment system. -
Sorry Mark, My email wasn't updated in my profile. It's utahusker at gmail dot com. Thanks James

Could someone pm Mark Deneen's contact number to me. I've seemed to have lost it. My BBX won't power up , but the rectifier lights up. The fuse is okay. Thanks

nu2toobs replied to BBZink's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I highly recommend http://www.bobsdevices.com/ He has several options available and can customize the loadings for any specific cartridge. -
And if you hear it isolated, it sounds like half of his lung is expelled with the cough. [+o(]

Thanks for your reply Craig. I was mainly asking out of curiosity. If I get a couple hundred expendable bucks, I may pick up a quad.

I was wondering if it's safe to use kt120's in the st45? Craig?

I never bought into the cryo thing, but what do I know.

Yep, it seems there's a lot of 1 post sellers.

Very nice setup... Your table looks very strong... I'm certain it can handle the weight of anything you put on it.... Yes it's an old quarter cut oak library table. It looks saggy, but it's due to the drawer sitting lower. I need to fix that. I'd rather have a nice rack to sit the bits on, but I don't have a space to store the table. It has some sentimental value

Receiver For New Klipsch Heresy III Speakers
nu2toobs replied to Scenthorns's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
That's definately a great receiver, but I wouldn't feel comfortable using it without a refresh. The dollars will add up. -
For $13.98 , I think you did great!

Comet Supply You can't beat this price on a DL103. The problem with this company is it can take a few weeks to get your cartridge, but you will get it. You'll need a higher mass tone arm due to the low compliance of this cartridge.

Great to see you here Dave. If anyone is looking for SME gear, Dave's the man.

I'd steer away from their entry level tt's. Now a P3-24 is a solid table. For the price of a p1, you could get a vintage table that would be much better quality wise.
