  1. Howdy Dave! Think you hit on it pretty well. Just had my oatmeal but, the mention of salt pork, well, I will be eating soon enough again...
  2. Lol, yes it seems grandmothers knew their cooking. Grandpa was a regular oatmeal eater. Here lately, have been adding abit of maple or honey. She cooked some backstrap venison when I was a kid staying with her when grandpa out hunting. The way she cooked it was unlike what I have had since.
  3. Good morning Eggs peeled just perfect yesterday AM. Guess I will go for some oatmeal. Salt good for a lot of things, I guess. Like me some iodine for the ole thyroid... Region and tradition come into the egg thing then, a takeaway for me... Go Duke...
  4. Speaking of age, yes it seems almost crazy. Remembering those Easter egg hunts as a kid, unrefrigerated boiled eggs, in some cases aboiled the night before, painted and then hidden, cannot recall anyone getting sick. Think it is stable to the point where snipers have had them in the field with them for a meal days on end. After boiling at a temp that will not crack large eggs, for at the very least 15 minutes, mostly longer for real hard, I run cold water over them to the point cool to the touch and half or more covered in water, crack them on the bottom or each other some and let sit for a few minutes. Usually I get a good easy peel. Just boiling a couple at the moment to eat with some grits. As for cholesterol, the body needs it to exist...
  5. My ex-wife threatened to divorce me over sleepers pervading the room Steve. It was sweet pickle juice, and some like it with the relish. Me, I pretty much like it all. Yes Duke's is hard to beat. Yes, Miracle is not a good standin for mayo. Speakin' to ex, she made some really decent home made mayo. Of course, we were veggie's at one point, where she made some real decent vittles. Good morning coffee going down slow. Like me... lol
  6. Likes me some deviled egg now. Eggs may have a date stamp one day. Do they l ol.... Some people put a little pickle juice, pickle in the recipe. Am certain I could eat a couple. Like the paprika, mustard type predominant places have seen. You may be able to cut some calories out with some sour cream to the mix. Would sample either atm. Cool
  7. Listening to some Pipe Dreams on the radio via LaScala...nice. Listened to the Yes post this AM while posting and shaving.. Went to LF sister's for LF birthday. Heck, even got her a card. Got in and reading, oh yes, Rory Gallagher, what a musician he was. May have seen them(Taste)in Orlando in 69, or Status Quo...cannot remember. DP one of favs but, only saw them once. It was well worth it, I guarantee. It was Yes I saw but, ELP was happening so...We have well water and glad to have it. Like other places have lived for the most part. No filters necessary. Costa Rican coffee I like.
  8. They be coming along nicely thank you...
  9. Good morning ya'll Seen them in Orlando around 71+
  10. Good morning....Early , I say yes possibly. Woke up thinking about a Vodka Martini this morning while making a cup of coffee. Gave a friend of mine a Stolikniya vodka martini chilled no ice and when he stood up , it took two of us to pick him up. Nowaday, it would only take one for me too. Like a good original gin also but, prefer a good vodka, and better than that Russian stuff I used, way back then....
  11. Think it was to help settle the grounds. Have asked about it here before, but cannot remember the replies, if any... Have a good one
  12. Like abit of cold coffee occasionally. Have asked here about eggshells in coffee but, may have been thinking about the whole egg Cowboy coffee. Like the old percolated also. Thanks for the info...
  13. Yes seems we had a B&D one time that did pretty well. We have a 12 cup MrCoffee that has lasted abit longer now. One thing about those and other's no doubt is running some white vinegar through them regularly to clean and keep them dripping faster. At a motel last autumn, ran into a Keurig maker, and had a funny time sorting it out, like the previous times. Need a cup to wake up before can understand the directions. The coffee tastes great that I had but, getting there the prob... A bit like Steve(BSM) who posts here. Usually, will take a cup of Joe and just be happy to get it. Did treat myself to some espresso deal found online with some demi' cups. Has a nice unbitter taste with a rich aftertaste like chocolate(subtle). Know what good coffee is, just slow to get there as fellow CC&C can tell you. So after being here since 2014, have made little progress, ...so far. lol thanks!
  14. Yes a good nose for the ingredient they put in propane and probably natural gas called something spelled like caputan is an alert for low volume or leaks. Think this may be correct or part correct. Have a cup but, not drank yet so
  15. Saw these the other day while browsing. Was going to post it here. Pretty nice! GLWS !
  16. Yes man, very happy to hear you got the project built after all this time. They look fine am sure from here. Do let us know how they burn-in for you.
  17. Budweiser will work in a pinch...Ole Milwaukee, if you can get it cold enough.
  18. Lol, now I know you cannot have forgotten about vinegar, as much as we drink it here. A little white vinegar on a white cloth. Too cold for a ladder. Try a skyhook instead. Although, I prefer the diffusion of sunlight through a dirty window. A bit of old world charm about it as it claSHES WITH MY Spartan OCCUPREMENTS.
  19. Congrats on a Youthman deal!
  20. Glad your finally feeling better...
  21. Dang, just looked at the radar, and looks like we were on the tailend of some snow. 31 but feels like 21. Cat elected to stay in this morning... Looks like Chuck and Bruce in the thick of it. Looks like a snow day it you want it...Carl...
