  1. There is money to be made and trying to spook investors is their MO. Trust your gut but, understand all the background noise for what it is. Market go up and down, just try to protect yourself as best you can, of course, Good Fortune
  2. Am more thirsty than a hound tracking on a dry hot day at sundown. Going for a routine blood draw tomorrow so, guess I will have to wait. Thanks for the reminder guys. Have to drink for beer with the XX Don label. Miss Boxx... Will want to have one for him on the morrow... Cheers to those of you that can't wait!
  3. Please do not forget us vodka martini drinkers with a twist of lemon peel...classic Was at the Dunes several awhile back when ordered one only to get a gin martini w/olive. Told the wine waiter to just leave it. He brought me the correct order and got a nice tip. The prime rib was excellent like Fleming said it would be.
  4. When you have these notable experts telling you the sky is falling and the stock market, giving deadlines only to watch them pass, then thinking for yourself and investing for yourself both short and longterm are the best remedy in my opinion, for the best results. Those locked into those self-fulfilling prophecies are playing a dangerous game with us, who may be seeking to make a dollar in the stockmarket.
  5. If it s indeed a hole for spikes then, you have the correct spike lenth or, are they too long? Time being I would keep the pads. Bet this helps little with your situation. What does the paperwork say that came with speakers? Welcome some more...
  6. Someone else will be along I know to discuss it with you. Yes proceed with caution as I am sure those are good sounding speakers!
  7. Greetings, and welcome! Have you taken a look at them and if so, please post a photo of them so you can be helped. Usually they have a screw or small bolt.
  8. Instead of creating a new topic I will say this last as a writeup on the replacement of parts on this 89 Chorus. The Klipsch Chorus speaker is now what it must have sounded like many years ago before I acquired them, or very close. They are to me one of the best speakers I have heard in my lifetime. The sound reproduction is remarkable at all levels. I would never have taken this step if I thought it would have changed the overall sound. Thanks, Billy!
  9. Chris A, This portion wasn't on the Google search page result definition that I saw. The one that I referenced included only the prior sentences. While it may be true that third-party products can be more innovative, that doesn't mean that they are. Your link carried me to the definition at the top of the page: separate individual or organization other than the two principals involved. A third party is typically a company that provides an auxiliary product not supplied by the primary manufacturer to the end user (the two principals). third party Definition from PC Magazine Encyclopedia www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/52846/third-party PC Magazine ***Click on the PC link and there is where the last sentence was added on to the definition. I did not do it... If you only use OEM parts, you may find out that they are not available...
  10. Here is where your link took ne Chris A... Third Party: A separate individual or organization other than the two principals involved. A third party is typically a company that provides an auxiliary product not supplied by the primary manufacturer to the end user (the two principals). Countless third-party add-on and plug-in products keep the computer industry advancing at a rapid pace. The third-party vendor is often the most innovative.
  11. Thanks Chris A..., I will try it out!
  12. Chris A, Would you mind defining for me what is a 1st, 2nd, and a third party vendor for purposes of discussion here, or on another thread? I am probably missing some understanding of the differences, which can translate to confusion of my understanding. Thanks for your input, in advance.
  13. There was an incident where a middle aged man stopped by the bar first before entering the pool hall. We all knew him. He bugged this one dude until he got up and hit the man 3 or 5 times. It was over, and someone carried the guy home. There is another story about violence and mental health which did not occur in poolroom. Surprised that more did not happen in a place with balls and sticks. Jack did not have to have a sign saying no fighting as he had low tolerance for violence. Jack would be at a loss for awhile with this one. His coping skills would have been interesting as women were a rarity there. Thinking I could cope some...
  14. That sounds great Tarheel, Length and weight and straight sounds real good. Used everything from 14 oz. to 22. Happy stroking! A breakdown stick would be cool when you are out shooting in public...
  15. Tarheel, hope you inherited a cue rack and a ball rack and some chalk and powder and some cuesticks. A canister vac with a soft brush will help out of course. Pool hall I frequented used a brush similar to and old school hand held shoe brush. Bristle extends out a touch to brush under rail. Sounds like you made out nice with the service call. Good Shooting...
  16. Glad to hear there Dean. Never talked to you in person but, found you more than civil. Hope you all can get it sorted. Listening to Chorus now, and a tear, fell down my cheek...yeaah Sounds like a Klipsch advert. Just kidding but how true. Good Fortune ..
  17. That and the bar next door had air conditioning, and the bakery. A convenient place. Agree, let the pro do his thing. Actually about every year, 2 or 3 of the tables were refurbed, so about every 3 or 4 years they were needing some help. Notice I did not say upgrade...
  18. Tarheel, Recall as a youth watching a cloth removal and repair. Using a 4 foot level, Mr. Lewis finished up after the refelt by measuring cross and longways and even criss crossing in a slow fashion and leveling by the legs and or shims on the floor(old slate) and then turning his attention to the rails once again using a level and measuring tape. Watched him refelt the rails using many little tacks. He did good work. The owner of the pool hall had him come in and do one at a time every few years. These tables got set upon at times when no one was watching. Jack the owner of the place spent a lot of time threatening people with expulsion and pointing to the do not sit on tables sign. The one pic of the table you showed looked like a clean and untorn table. Slate takes a bunch of abuse but can remain smooth for years.. Bet it just needs a tad of work then. The rails can last quite some time before needing foam rubber replaced. Old and decent tables these were, pocket billiard tables. Had mostly 8 foots and a couple of 9 foot. And 1 old English snooker table. Do not sit on the tables is my takeaway from those days. Anyway read where you got the pro coming in so, so much for that...

    Yardbirds

Dang, what was I thinking... a cover band! Naïve I am... Did not know you were a musician.
  20. Bottom line isn't my decision by far. If a decision is made here, then Whoop there it is...
  21. Well then, it will be interesting to see if enough hard data can be had to draw any reasonable conclusion about the topic you put into question. See it as a big challenge to do so from here...
