  1. Some obligatory pics... Yes, they will fit in a Jeep Compass
  2. Wait... I'm thinking of the Type A/4500 crossover for the Belle, LA Scala and Khorns. Might not have anything like that for Cornwall.
  3. That may be it. Something about using that particular crossover meant having to use something besides the K-77 tweeters. I think it was saying to use the CT-120. I'll have to find out Tuesday if that's how he worded it. He emailed yesterday saying he'd be out till then.
  4. Got them cleaned up and oiled and loooking quite good. Quite presentable for 39 years old. Need new grill cloth, some emblems, and convert from Type B to B-2 crossovers and see how that goes. Listening to them now through all kinds of music and sound very good stock. Does the B-2 change the 6khz crossover point from mid to tweeter or is it mainly just a second order crossover? Maybe that's someone else's crossover I'm thinking of. Can't wait to get my Dynaco VTA ST-70 done and hooked up in place of this con sole tube amp.
  5. Pictures to follow later. Got to get them unloaded out of daughters Jeep Compass then put up a new OTA antenna and paint Dynaco ST-70 bell caps then I can mess with speakers. Helluva nice guy and fun to talk to. He was in the back woods of Arkansas. Just moved out there on 500 acres and building a new house. He'd bought some new Klipsch towers I think he said.
  6. I think you've posted this in the completely wrong area. Might try it in the technical and modificationstain area.
  7. Ok, mgb....reply to your PM! Ya got me all dressed for the dance! ha
  8. Or do I just build a set of Cornscala's and call it good? By the time you figure the cost of Cornwall's and then the upgrades/changes (better/new horns, new tweeters, mids, crossovers, woofers (maybe), etc) that's about the same price as all the parts for Cornscala's....most any model. But, at $800 a pair for Cornwall's, the cabinets are done and I don't have to mess with that part. I'm getting lazier in my old(er) age. I'd rather spend more time listening than building. Swapping tweeters and diaphragms is an easy peasy thing. Sheesh...
  9. So a vote to stay with the 1's. Thanks Derrick.
  10. Anyone? If cost were no object, or was justifiable for each, would anyone prefer a new pair of Cornwall 3's over the 2's or a pair of '78 models? What does everyone do to the '78's typically? Have I read that those have undesirable networks that need to be changed? So I spend $800 on a pair of '78's, another 250 on crossovers, change tweeter diaphragms, etc., etc and I'm in around $1200+. Will they sound better than a new pair of Cornwall 3's that "shouldn't" have to have a wrench turned on them? Anyone who's heard both, or all 3, iterations?
  11. Jim, are ya needing to sell those Cornwall's?

    For Sale

And maybe not using a white background with light gray letters.
  13. Anyone in the Denver area coming to the Pilgrimage that could haul them if they are still available to buy?
  14. I swear, more Klipsch speakers end up in FL. I guess when you retire, you move everything with you then sell it.
  15. So are a used pair of Cornwall III's preferred over a pair of I's, II's, etc.? I would think you really wouldn't have to go on an updating/rebuilding/refinish project with a pair of those. I've read goods and bads about the CW3's versus the older ones.
  16. I emailed him a little bit ago. Sold about a month ago...just too lazy to delete the ads from the cities it's listed in.
  17. I'd seen those too. I used to live in Denton area for 6 years from 2003 to 2009. Not the worst drive ever.
  18. If they were closer, I'd buy them.
  19. Funny how when you have the money to blow on stuff, there's none to be found. Belle's, Cornwall's, etc. Feast or famine. I ponder La Scala's but wonder how they'll react in my living room. I guess no worse than Belle's. Who knows till they're in there.
  20. While still searching for Belle's, etc., I'd like to get a pair of Cornwall's in the meantime, too. Within 6 hour drive range is great. If you see something out there, know of a pair, or have a pair, pm me or post here. What the heck...I'll have a collection
  21. Found a pair of LS's but would like someone to look at them. Could paypal money no problem if good to go. Unless they are already sold... Thinking I can maybe work with LS's in my living room; they are only 7" deeper than CF-3's. That might fly. Thanks!
