I don't think it will hurt. What do you like about each speaker, what do you not like about each speaker? I'd advise finding a local show room to see how things sound different and to identify what you like? I'd focus on whatever details I can hear and what I missing and go from there.

You need a couple of these at $14,500 each to make a difference.

I just finished this install last weekend. I will put a keg of Miler lite and homemade rootbeer (non alcohol) in here in the next couple of weeks.
Nevermind the mess, the bar is still under construction.

Morning gang, Christmas Eve, -1°, just finished some eggs over easy, sweet potato hash browns, and chicken sausage. Now enjoying the French roast from Starbucks that was on sale at Costco for $13.99. Christmas tunes on the Cornwalls this morning.
Speaking of cocktails, met a friend at a speakeasy this last week for a drink or two. Had a smoke old fashion that was smooth and nice to drink.
For Christmas dinner I'll be firing the Big Green Egg up for some brisket and ham, having the family over, which hopefully results in us down at the bar in the basement with cocktails and music on the big rig.

I've always wanted to make one of these. Nicely done.

I'm still having issues comprehending.... (my wife rolls her eyes about now at me....)
Flanges facing toward the horn verses driver....
Huh?
Am I missing it in the (your) pictures above? I would think they fit one way and that's it. I'm clearly missing something.
The snout on the 1132 extends it out so the wildest part of the driver doesn't interfere with the mounting plate. I had to flip mine around to get the k69(b&c version) to mount to the k402. Though some of a struggle, I was able to align everything with a socket and tighten it down.

How did you get at your holes to scribe? The 2 are easy but others are not a clear shot for marking due to horn flare blocking.
I might have been lucky as I don't recall having any issues.

Yes.
Have had nothing but support problems with Tapatalk, and I consider it to also be a security risk. We do not have Tapatalk enabled on this site any longer.
I completely understand thanks for the verification.

For driver side? I have to flip my driver mounting plate/bracket around to mount 4-bolt drivers without snout. With all the holes in the plate none line up with 4-bolt pattern when flipped over. Want it to be exact and trying to mark holes, etc. from underside is difficult. Easy enough to create one from my horns but figured I would check.
I do not and had to do the same thing. I used a socket that fit through the mouth of the horn to align driver.

Have you guys moved away from Tapatalk?

The snout is correct, it may be taking a 1 1/4" driver to 2", I can't remember. If you wanted to try the B&C (which you already have in your hands), remove the current driver and snout and bolt the B&C directly to it. Tweak your settings as you currently are.
KT88 has provided some great input and you are on the right path; it just takes time and tweaking. For the money and availability, I would shoot for the Celestions as that is the latest and greatest Klipsch is now using on the K402s. If you didn't want to spring for the Celestions as this time, I would consider the Faital PRO HF200 or similar, they are great driver and sounded great on other horns I have experimented with.

This thread might help

That is correct. It's a mid driver K1133. It could be a 1132, but I'm not sure what was correct for the 2-way version of your speaker. @chiefbonehead

Tough question, some might say Walnut are more desirable. I would look up sold auctions on ebay to come up with a sale price on both. Then post both and note in the listing that once one pair has sold, the other will be removed. This lets the buyers decide which is more desirable.

I don't think you could go wrong with either. I love the sound from my Heresy Is that are plywood.

You may be able to spread them open slightly with a precision screwdriver. Just a thought. I’ve had issue with binding posts being irregular. ymmv.
Not a bad thought to try.

If there wasn't currently an opportunity to purchase a single, I would agree, however, considering the serial number and style, I would have to say that there is a single or match out there for this one. How long would it take to find.... That there lies the question. If I couldn't get out of the sale, i would beg Klipsch to try and help find me a mate.
