  1. I would start with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cradle-Filth-Principle-Evil-Made-Flesh-Vinyl-2-LP-/130582753764?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1e6756b1e4 or maybe this http://www.ebay.com/itm/SLAYER-VINYL-CONFLICT-180-GRAM-10-LP-SET-SEALED-/250908516590?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item3a6b5020ee or even this http://www.amazon.com/Vulgar-Display-Power-Gram-Vinyl/dp/B0036BDQ6U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1318464980&sr=8-4 glad to hear the table turned out. have fun. now.
  2. Sorry if it seems sketchy(most of my post do if you have ever read one)But I was at work and writing the post on my phone. But yea Mustang thats about what I was doing is raising the LaScala about 2 feet. The measurements were based off of the size of the LaScala I guess 6 more inches out wouldn't be to bad. I am working from scratch here so there are many options, PSG I have looked at some of the tapped horns and to be honest I don't know were to start with a diy sub enclosure(not to say I am not capable of building one I mean my dad is a tv repair man and he has a awesome set of tools), I do how ever want to keep it like a stage kind of presences. A couple of things to consider is I will have K-horns for mains so they need to keep up, which sounds like there is lots of subs out there that will. I just see a lot of people using the Tuba ht with them and I think someone around here has even built a IB sub under their room and had a manifold under their LaScala, I know the only way for me to build one under the floor would be to tear up concrete. But I have seen some fellas on the forum build line array looking subs in their home theater. Endless possibilities it will take the time to find the right one for the cause. Keep the ideas coming fellas, and ladies if you are around.
  3. So I don't know if I should post this here or powered subs but I might also post over in the ibsub website but I was thinking of building a stage about 2'x 2'x6'6", that my center channel which is a Lascala will sit on. So I was seeing if any one has any good ideas about using this stage for a box for a couple of subs. Just throwing some ideas around I even thought about building a false wall out the depth of the lascala and put one of those tht subs everyone has been building but I don't like how far they will stick out. Thanks Nick
  4. I am going to throw my 2 cents in being that I have and am in this boat, For Iron I would at least make sure the unit works and could play vinyl now. That way u are not dumping money in something you may not like. I will say that as far as other sources I do like cds just as much except for the fact it is fun swapping out records and they do have a great sound. I don't think at this point dd or bd tables are going to help you judge the sound and or quality of the sound watch the needles and carts. For the both of you watch cl there are always deals on there for good easy to work with. I started with technics bd that was a thrift store find I put a 10 dollar belt and 30.00$ cart that had me at 50.00$ for the set up which pushed me to pick up a Thorens for 100$ here on the forum. I also answered a cl ad for a sansui system for 10$ which had a technics table with it. So keep your eyes out there are deals out there that will get u in for nothing. Good luck on a fun road. Nick
  5. I thought you were selling the Lascalas, anywho if you get the Carver pre bring it over we'll see what Bigcliff is talking about with that Carver pre matched with a Kenwood basic, and Fortes. Good luck hope it all works out for you know matter what route you go. Nick
  6. Does anyone also know if the Squeezbox apps work on the older models like the duet.
  7. Has anyone compared Sons, or Squeezebox. Does the Squeezebox receive internet wirelessly, because if so that would be a winner over the Sonous player I believe they need to be pluged into the internet or have the bridge plugged in to a wireless router. I was going to go with a Sonos but know I am looking at the squeezebox. Nick
  8. PSG, how did you mount your heresies on the wall that is what I am working towards.
  9. Thanks Gary that should give me some good ideas.
  10. Looking for some of the old post Mainly pertaining to foam pipe insulation for tight corner fit and false corners. I know these topics have had several post before, thought I would see if anyone could point me in the direction of some good reading.
  11. anyone ever used one of these. I bought this unit with one of the cl buys I think I got a technics record player, Sansui reciever and tape deck with the stand. So far I like how it sounds probably one of the best cd players I have owned, not that is saying much but sounds good to me considering I only paid 10.00 for the hole lot. Just posting my finds and 2 cents for what this disc player is worth. I noticed that the transport or slider was different like the laser or some wierd thing in the center were the disc spins. Nick
  12. Nice setup if it wasn't for the pie badges would have thought you stole my Cornwalls.
  13. I agree this will give me a good weekend project I wonder if I should update caps before doing so you know I could always customize the Heresies with the tweeter and it would be a better match
  14. I have a quick post in the garage sale section, I don't think I really have a use for it I am curious what it actually was used for. Nick
  15. Altec 511b with k-55 driver, and Selenium hm17-25 horns with the d220ti drivers.
  16. Fini, I have a couple bottles of damper oil used in the R/C look to be two different viscosities, if your interested pm me your address they're yours. Nick
  17. well than to throw a wrench in all that theroy, The Khorns and Lascala are not stock. So unless I build the Heresy or Forte like the Khorn and Lascala I don't think it will matter that much.
  18. I have been tossing around the idea of using my Fortes for surrounds instead of my Heresies for my surrounds. I originally was building a all Heritage ht with Khorns, and Lascala for the front 3, now I just need to decide which to use for my surrounds. One of the reasons I was pondering the idea is I am currently using my Fortes in my 2 channel setup, not that I think no speaker is to big for any room I just feel its a little over kill in the 10x10 room they are in. I will be getting my H.H. Scott 299 redone some day which I think using the Heresies would sound great and if I wanted more bass I could through in a small sub with the unpowered center channel on the Scott. Plus they wouldn't be so big, now using the Fortes I would build platforms to raise them up to desired surround speaker placement. Any thoughts recommendations, greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick If I do stay with the Heresies for surrounds I will be looking at tradeing my Fortes for some Heresies.
  19. Those rb 61 ii are sharp nice looking set up.
  20. How are you likeing the Latino m125s. Nice looking Cornwalls by the way. Duder
  21. My deepest condolences. Sorry to hear about Buddy.
  22. Jhoak, Is there a build thread on your IB sub, or any pics, your system looks nice by the way.
  23. My dad has a pair of RF 5s with a Onkyo 5.1 receiver that he is using for a 2 channel system, he mainly listens to classic rock his room could use some sound treatments but that will be next anyway. Is there any decent used or older subs around 200-300 range that help out he doesn't need a lot just a little extra. Thanks Nick
  24. I don't know if I would consider the 2 vendors scammers one of them would only want 5 dollars extra for a pair of tubes, ya $1.00 scam or a $1,000,000 scam is still a scam, but I would think you would make it worth your wild. The other company is a company I am sure lots from this site have purchased tubes in the past, maybe they were scammed. I guess you guys are probably talking more along the lines of cryo treating all of your audio gear for 100s or even 1000s. Which I think the biggest scam of all times is the fact that there are only 8 hot dog buns in a pack when there are 10 hot dogs in a package..
  25. When I was out trying different strings, I once wanted to try the Jerry Only signature series from Dean Markley. I called every shop in town and at that time no one carried Dean Markley. I told one of the clerks that I was looking for the Jerry Only serious, he just asked me why, I figured who cares why I just wanted to try them. Any ways never got to try them but thats the only experience I had with Dean Markley, maybe once their on line store is up and running I can then give them a try. Nick
