  1. Hey Jackass, (with all due respect) No speaker stand is going to change a speakers ability to produce bass that it can not produce! I agree with Russ, get a sub. I have a sub, he has a sub (actually 2 of them now) and it (they) produces the frequencies that the speakers don't. It will be money better spent. You can do what the speaker stand is trying to do. Fool around with speaker placement. Move them closer to the back wall, move them farther from the back wall. Move them closer to the side wall. Move them away from the side wall. Take notes and see what you like better. Good luck and keep us posted, Dennie
  2. Curiosity got the best of me, so I had to find out how much $1100 CDN was. Here are the results: 1,100.00 CAD = 1,042.64 USD Canada Dollars United States Dollars 1 CAD = 0.947851 USD 1 USD = 1.05502 CAD
  3. I paid $1100 for my 1979 La Scala's, 3 years ago. I then spent $300 on new crossovers and with a $1400 investment, I don't think you can find comparable speakers for 3 times as much. So, I guess it depends on, what are they worth to you? For that price, I don't think you can do much better. Just my opinion and good luck in your search, Dennie
  4. Oh, I need to stay away from that Cask Guy! I have seen the aforementioned subs and.......and.......and I just need to stay away from him! [8-)] (until after Christmas, at least) Dennie
  5. Monophobia sounds like a set of Mono blocks that are afraid of being alone?!?! Or is is it a kissing disease? [+o(] Thanks for the laugh, Dennie
  6. Congratulations on purchasing a second sub Russ, and if it sounds good to you, that is what matters. [Y] Has anyone had negative effects by adding a second sub? I have heard of a second sub adding problems and muddying up the sound. Maybe he was running them two loud or something like that. Dennie

  8. Congratulations! You are now a Klipsch Heritage owner. [<)] We can't wait to see some pictures. Check out that Link I provided, 35 year old crossovers will need to be updated. They will sound good now, but they will simply amaze you with updated crossovers. Also ask Bob about the "washer" for the Mid-range (Squawker) horn. I think they are $1.00 for the pair. Welcome to the family, Dennie
  9. I think that is a very fair price. They look almost identical to my 1979 La Scala's and I paid $1100 for them, from the origianl owner. His ad says "Electronics are perfect". If the crossovers are original, they will need to be updated or replaced. I paid $300 for new crossovers HERE! I say go for those if they are still available and welcome to the forum. I know what it's like to want La Scala's! [] You need to scratch that itch!! [] Dennie
  10. Great review Rick! Thanks for taking the time to write it. Dennie
  11. OT: I need a new mower (self propelled), and would pay $1500 for one that would last. You seem like you have an opinion on this, Please let me know! (Sorry for Off-Topic post) Sorry, but off topic. Hey Davidness, I've owned and operated a Landscaping/Gardening business in Sunny California, for over 14 years now and I recommend TORO commercial mowers. The last one I purchased was just about a year ago and it cost me just under $1400. For residential use, it should last forever, if taken care of. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program........ Dennie
  12. Well put 33RPM. Certainly well put, but it's either a crappy sub or one maladusted. A proper sub should not be heard!!!!!!!!!!! Dave I completely agree Dave. I used to wonder if my sub was on. So, I would get up, walk over to it and see if the light was green or red. Always green. So I don't get up to check anymore. A properly calibrated sub will not make itself known. It will just blend in. Dennie
  13. Hey New Guy, Welcome to the Klipsch Forums, we are glad you are here. I am a Heritage guy. La Scala's! I use a sub to fill in the bottom end. It is calibrated and never boomy. When I watch movies, the sub gets bumped up a couple db's, but not for music. I can't speak to the Reference line, as I have never heard any. But I wanted to say Welcome and pull up a seat, you are in for a wild ride. Dennie
  14. One Link coming up-------------------------------> http://www.critesspeakers.com/ It opens in a new window! I bought my Type AA/A Crossover's for my La Scala's from Bob and I couldn't be happier! Dennie
  15. Well then. I Congratulate you 98%......and 2% that sucks! I say, turn out the lights and listen to some beautiful music. [] I've never bought "NEW" Klipsch, I do dream about it, but I have bought other speakers new and on some, I had to choose where to place the emblems. The emblems did not come attached. Did you buy them new? Dennie
  16. I got it, thanks. Those do look sweet and the price seems good. Dennie
  17. Oh, I re-read the original post. I thought Mark was looking for corner loaded woofers, but I mis-read this.... My Bad! Dennie
  18. Those are Studio Monitors, not corner loaded horns. Right? Dennie
  19. (scratches head) Do they all look the same to anyone else? I know some have handles and edging, but they ALL appear to be the same speaker. Dennie[:|]

Wow! I had never seen those. They are beautiful. Thanks for posting them Marvel! Dennie
  21. Do you plan on listening to CD's? Do you have SACD's, DVD-A's? Then a CD player or Universal Player would be needed and you would need a pre-amp for that. But if your only going to listen to MP3's, then the Cowon D2 should be fine. Dennie

That's Funny! LOL Yeah, I think the ring will work much better than a magic wand! They are pretty and look all original. I don't know if the BLACK is original or not, maybe someone can chime in on that one. Mine are Birch also, but not painted black on the inside and back.

That's a great Idea! "Hi Honey, Look what I bought you! I thought they were a little big, but I knew you would love the sound, so I bought them anyways!" [Y] Now you're thinking! I think I see La Scala's in your future! [Y] Dennie

Hey Down Under, Are you going to bid on them? Mine are 30 years old and with new crossovers from Bob Crites, they sound AMAZING! [] I paid $1100 for mine and $300 for the Crossovers and I don't think I could find better speakers for two to three times as much. Good Luck and let us know if you get them, Dennie
  25. Sweet! Glad to have you "back in the fold" and those sure are beautiful speakers! [<)] Nice how the match the table you have your gear on! [Y] Thanks for posting the Pictures. We love pictures! Dennie
