  1. Hmm, I always thought that this black/plastic cup gets loose. Any way on mine all is fine.
  2. Black capacitors are mkp type. There is no point to replace them, they don't age as quickly as electrolytic capacitors. As for big, woofer capacitor it could be replaced, PIO lifespan should be around 50-60 years so probably there is no rush especially because they where designed for much higher currents. Listen to the speakers for some time. Don't start with changes. I would only verify if those black back covers on squeakers are firmly connected to driver. There where reports that for k-55m sometime glue is failing on those and it distorts the sound.
  3. Went similar way. But I switched from Forte I to LS I. My findings where similar, but .... even if Forte I bottom was punchier and lower I did not liked quality of that bass. Now I added closed case 15'' sub-woofer to LS and they are completely fine in basement region. Now I'm only tempted by some horn enclosed subwoofer. And even if Fore are nice speakers I don't miss them.
  4. It was truth 10 and 20 years ago too.
  5. If you gently press membrane with full hand there is any resistance/difference to googspeaker?
  6. This is US locations only or EU citizens can also participate? Probably not as State/Province is only US. Never mind, got it "You need not be present to win. Shipping of these one-of-a-kind speakers is limited to a physical address in the contiguous United States (aka the lower 48).'
  7. Maybe, but it does not mean we cannot suggest it. Cornwall has sound character same as Heresy on midrange and top but with much better bottom part. Chorus is another cup of tea. Probably would win with Cornwall in bottom part but at least for me Cornwall 1/1.5 overally is much better and well balanced speaker and if someone likes Heresy then he will love Cornwall.
  8. Depends what you are looking for. For me Heresy 1 and 1.5 have more real/true midrange and highs. So bettween those two I would choose Cornwall 1.
  9. Not true unless there are pictures
  10. Not sure that adding styrofoam board and bit of bubble wrapping would helped anyway. This package was treated really brutal way (dropped form high altitude) . I would fill the complain. Was it insured?
  11. Vinyl without surface noise and pre/post-echo it's really something.
  12. Recently I'm rediscovering long lost format, DBX encoded discs. Pity it was abandoned.
  13. Maybe there is something about it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/363533434883
  14. For horns for sure. For drivers it depends. They where swimming in water? One picture is wort more then thousand words and your description of state is really brief. I guess squeaker and tweeter can be disassembled to examine the state. But it's hard to tell remote.
