  1. Marshall did have a fine post about re-grilling, I can't find it either. Great article. CB
  2. I aslo built a pair of Cornscalas. I used Crites case 15' WOOFER, Klappenberger wood horn with Great Plains 902-16 driver and the Beyma tweeter, Dean built the crossovers. How do they sound________________it dont' get any better, wwonderful. CB
  3. jOE, ALL YOUR STUFF REALLY LOOKS GREAT, I ONLY SEE ONE PROBLEM, YOU HAVE EMPTY SHELVES IN YOUR AUDIO RACK, YOU NEED TO CORRECT THAT SITUATION. LATER cb
  4. I did get rid of one SS amp, only to buy his real big brother, the MC7200N, and I still had it. Those tube amps sound like a good deal. CB
  5. What are you doin now? I swear, I'd never get rid of the 2125. CB
  6. Don't know if you know, Deliverence was filmed about 20 miles from where I live. You do have to be careful if you get off the beaten path. You wonder why I carry a gun, you can never tell. CB
  7. I appreciate all the comments. What I have though about thus far is the following. My walls are all 13" wide pine boards so attaaching something to the walls is no biggie. Attach a 2"x2" (actually 1 1/2 x 1 1/2) to the wall, this will allow a space for wires and cables. then attach a 1"x2" in lengths of the shelf spacing. Then by using some type of support, like 3/8" pipe painted or something to serve the purpose of supporting the stone slabs without exerting any force in any direction except down to the floor. If you used expoxy to attached the stone slab to the 2x2 then you made it all one unit and stablized to a certain extent the whole thing. Just in case one tof the cats decides to try to jump on one of the shelves. My intent is to have as little superstructure showing as possible, to show off the stone and not all the crap holding it together and off the floor. I am pretty well tied to where I want to put it and the space I have, windows, HVAC vents fireplace, doors and least one chair to sit in so I can listen to this bloody thing. Keep the ideas coming. CB
  8. I have the opportunity to get some pieces of granite and marble, have a friend that makes counter tops. The size will be 18"x24", me was thinking, how about a rack/shelving unit for my audio equipment. The stone is 1 1/4" thick, polished only on the top, the edges will be a saw cut, smooth but not polished. At first thought seems easy, when I started to think about it, there is all kinds of issues. Maybe a wood frame type of affair that would be free standing, well, this thing would be seriously top heavy and would kill someone if it ever fell over, so that would dictate that it may have to be attached to the wall and floor, no big deal, unless I want to move it. Moving it for access to rear of equipment, don't know how much this will weight, but more that I want to slide around. I guess getting access to the back of equipment is no big deal, just slide unit out for access to speaker cables and interconnects. I want to leave as much of the stone exposed as possible, this stuff is really pretty. Anyone got any ideas of how I can do this, without spending a whole ton of money. Drilling holes would cost too much. Anyone got some gooed ideas????? CB
  9. Dean did my crossovers for my Cornscalas, in one word---perfect CB
  10. Your lucky you don't live in Sautee Nacoochee, GA. The only show in two countys si Wal Mart, I hate that place. Nearest Costco or Sam's is about 150 mile drive for me (both ways). We try to be fairly self-sufficent up here in the sticks, food-- crow and racoon, maybe possum if your lucky, toilet paper, that big bush out back. You folks don'ty know how lucky you are. CB
  11. M, glad your OK. My experience, Drafted 1966, basic, Fort Hood Texas, wisdom teeth needed to come out. The Dr. who performed the extraction was, I believe the same one who did Washington's wooden ones. Anyway, first shot, needle broke and came through the side of my cheek, that hurt like a mother. Bottom left came out OK, top left, plyers sliped and needed 13 stitches in bottom lip, didn't feel it, except later. Bottom line, I didn't go to a denist for 25 years, and when I do, I very nicely explain that if they hurt me, I'll slap the crap out of them, they seen to understand. I hope your doing much better CB
  12. I have just completed my Cornscalas, they came out so nice I may build something else. It seems that most of the posts on the DBB Cornscalas don't exist anymore. What I have in my brain is to build a nice bass bin with two 12" or 15", and I'm not sure there is such a thing, but a big horn on the top kind of like the Jub, a two way. Not being like the Jub, the woofers would firing forward like the DBB but the top would be a big horn. Not knowing ever if they make one of these things that could be used. I see a lot of threads about the trachorns and such, could you use one of these that would serve as the tweeter and mid-range. You assistance would greatly appreciated in helping me deterrmine if something is ever possible. Thanks CB
  13. Ya man, I'm serious. If it's not too much trouble, bring some, I have a great use for it. CB

  19. I'll just make sure that I have enough to eat and drink. Coytee, don't have LaScalas, got Belles, I'm not sure I would go to a lot of trouble with your stuff, check my bio page for the equipment I have, it's up to date. Again, nothing fancy here, but I believe comfortable. Not married, so if you see a little dust or stuff laying around, just get over it, I don't have a maid (except me and I don't do well, and the cats don't care. Coytee, not sure whick way is the best for getting here, as I said get to Helen and call, I live in the sticks. Later CB
  20. Dangerous question here, any special requests for food or drink? Bring whatever you want, personnally I wouldn't want to disconnect and haul all that stuff with the danger of damaging something, maybe some CD's your familiar with so you can give my systems a good evaluation. Getting here, got a gps, put in Helen, GA, call whem you get to Helen, 706 878 9069 , Lat. 34-45-02N, Long. 83-40-13W. Glad you guys are coming, see you Sat. CB
  21. I loved how they gently escorted the gentleman from the truck. CB
  22. With all the hub bub about the Juicy Music Peach and Blueberry, and the lack of used equipment in the marketplace. I have a Peach runing with some VRD's to my Cornscalas, the sound is nothing short of wonderful, that said has any one come up with a replacement piece of equipment for the Peach or Blueberry?? They are a wonderful piece of equipment but I find it hard to believe there aren't other pre-amps in the world that come very close to the price and performance of the as for mentioned equipment. I would like to hear other opinions for other equipment that may be used. Thanks guys. CB
  23. Ya, I know but, just think, if we all just stayed with the equipment we presently have, we would miss out on a whole bunch of fun. Buying, selling, and trading, you never know what may be lurking around the next corner, it's not the designation, but the journey. Besides, I can always blame "them"
