I thought I would share a very talented guitarist that isn't well known. Dude gives me goosebumps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFCd-SYSaNs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYHAA-gP6o4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFCd-SYSaNs
  2. She lives in Mojave in a Winnebago His name is Bobby, he looks like a potato
  3. I have a huge archive of Phish and I have thought about trying the phish streaming service to give a listen to some of the stuff I don't have. I am sure I could figure out how to rtmpdump the stream so I don't have to buy the service long term. I have seen around 100 shows and counting. Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Glad you brought that up. The common belief is that yes, the NSA is listening to thwart terrorists. But that isn't why they are listening. Otherwise we wouldn't have had the Boston bombings, and yesterday wouldn't have happened. Frankly, the government really doesn't give a crap about islamist extremism/terrorism/workplace violence/the patriot movement or any other descriptive they can come up with. If they did, gangs would have been eradicated decades ago. What the government cares about is power and money. Keep that in mind and you'll understand why the NSA is listening. Threaten THEIR power, or interfere with THEIR ability to collect money and you'll be on their radar. It would appear so. The NSA seems to be better at gathering information to target the correct advertising to you rather than what it's supposed to be doing.
  5. It really seems like the "intelligence" community is doing it's job. I mean doesn't the NSA invade our privacy to prevent this sort of tragedy?
  6. Yeah I agree, my point is terrorism can be done with anything like a car or pressure cooker, it doesn't have to be a gun!!
  7. There is something wrong with that state. The law enforcement there is scary, they don't want anyone having any fun. I left Vegas headed for SLC on a vacation and had a run in with Johnny Law, they do what they want when they want regardless of your rights.
  8. So this guy decides to snap at 10am one day and doesn't have any guns. BUT he does own a car, now he decides to drive his car through a Chuck E Cheese window killing 10 kids. Now we have to get rid of cars because they can kill people. My point is a recourceful crazy person can make a weapon or bomb from many things and hurt people with it.
  9. Beware of lightning strikes!!
  10. A lot of people don't realize that even this forum is reflective of the pulse of America. Just look at us. Bickering, incoherent, petty, word-parsing... And we blame the media. Go figure. I don't bicker!!!! You are the one bickering!!!!!!!!
  11. I can't stand watching any of the main stream media stations. They all have an agenda. They are usually so overwhelmingly fake I think they might be robots. You know for a fact the majority of TV reporters are not religious but yet they give their prayers out to all the victims like it's going to make a difference. For all we know they are praying to satan that the souls be trapped in a lake of fire in eternal damn nation...............
  12. So under "domestic terrorism" "Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law" So people texting while driving at the same time are terrorists? (in my state anyway) How about drinking and driving? All terrorists I guess.
  13. And there are so much trash electronics today that you can cannabalize something and practice removing components from PCB's. I am willing to bet within an hour you will get the hang of it provided you got the right tools as mentioned above.
  14. I would love to help you. Don't be afraid to tackle this if you have decent soldering skills and can use a multimeter. All we need are pictures, schematics etc.....
  15. Roger do you drink alcohol on a daily basis? My guess is yes, and probably copius amounts. I am not asking any billionaire to give any money to charity so you asking about how much I or anyone else donates is irrellevant. Again reading comprehension.
  16. So people argue they don't start businesses in this country because there are too many taxes. Hmmm. Then I am also told that these taxes pay for our roads and educational systems, which are failing. Hmmmm. I think I am seeing a correlation here. Why does the govt allow this? For the benefit of the 1% who make billions from off shore production I suppose. What a great system we have setup here.
  17. That Cd player is more than plenty to drive both amps to full power, period. Maybe you have the Panasonic model where the sensitivity is 26mV and you need to attenuate more? Mike makes a great point, quit the guessing and either measure the CD player output voltage and or just plug the thing directly into the Yamaha and see how loud it gets.
  18. It's not involved so why do you keep bringing it up? So please enlighten us? How did your wealthy friends succeed if $45 billion isn't enough for a business venture? They must have started out with a serious advantage What are you saying about their success? You can't succeed and pay taxes at the same time? If taxes are the problem then the system is set up wrong and clearly favors people with >$45 billion to start a business. All you people are the same, you make it sound like it's so easy to succeed and make a fortune in the land of the "free" but when it comes to doing some good it's real easy to say no it's too hard and can't be done without trillions of dollars. That's the pi$$ poor attitude that got our country messed up to begin with.
  19. I am not saying pay off the "national debt" so maybe learn to read before typing. I am talking about starting a company to either fix roads and bridges or make cell phones. Reading comprehension is key my friend I am fairly certain if you wanted to produce cell phones in this country $40 billion dollars would be enough.
  20. I agree completely. Seriously even if it was going to charity I still think it's the wrong way of going about it. I had that amount of scratch laying around I wouldn't even focus on profit. Let's start with infrastructure. Instead of "giving" away $15Bn to "charity" build a national company with it's main focus on rebuilding roads and bridges etc...Our own people of this country in need of jobs can then work and earn a living wage doing something worthwhile. At the end of the day it helps you sleep good at night knowing you put in a hard days work and earned your paycheck doing something positive. That's what our country needs, goals. So that will kill so many birds with one stone; It makes the rich feel good by giving to charity, it gives people jobs that earn them a liveable wage, and our countries infrastructure is all the better Win, Win, Win! Again, if I was a billionaire I would probably do something crazy like try and manufacture cell phones here in the USA. That's right you heard me. I would buy Detroit, set up shop and start making the best phones in the world. And don't tell me they would then cost $1000ea because that's just rubbish, they cost what you charge..........Remember the charity part? The first few years would be all loss (out of my pocket) but over time I am certain there would be profits to be made, or hell just break even. Is it really that hard to compete or have we just completely given up?
  21. I absolutely hate Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg. All these people with vast amounts of money say they give it away but where does it show up? With just his fortune alone he could single handedly change either the healthcare system or the educational system, then there is our countries infrastructure. Actually with 45 billion dollars I am almost certain he could single handedly improve all three. If you think about it, if him, BIll Gates, and a few other of the ultra rich each chipped in they could make this country absolutely amazing and still have enough money left over to keep them and their children filthy rich for a long time. I can't stand when you search for these billionaires on google that's it's no coincidence that their charity involvement are the first to come up, yet in all my travels across this country I still see failing infrastructure and far more poverty than I care to. I would like to tweet his severed head on a spike.
  22. Wouldn't it be 20*Log(V1/V2) ? V1=1.6V for the Yamaha and V2=.2V for the Panasonic 1.6/.2=8 The Panasonic is 8 times more sensitive vs. the Yamaha. (Log8)20 = 18db You will want to attenuate the Panasonic 18db through the DX. Also what speakers do you have hooked up to the Yamaha? You will want to set the correct load for them.
  23. Have you found that the Panasonic amp is much louder for the highs than the Yamaha? The input sensitivity for the Panasonic amp for CD, Tape, TV, DVD, Recorder, VCR1, and VCR2 are all 27mV for IHF '78 models and 200mV for IHF '66 models. The Yamaha on the other hand has an input sensitivity of 1.6V, big difference. Even though there is a more than double wattage difference, that will not make much of a difference in db, just higher headroom. You will basically have to turn the Yamaha's volume control up a lot more than the Panasonic's.
  24. Here too.......https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/160447-restore-or-mod-a-maggie-6v6-console-pull/page-2
