ok, sorry about the quality it was taken from my phone, will be happy to my camera back from repair. Basically they are 2.5" panels, they are made with four inch fiberglass insulation, 2" trim boards, 1/4" peg board backing, and fabric of choice I made all three of them for about $20.00 in about an hour, and instead of mounting to the wall they are suspended from the ceiling. ~ross

I made my sound panels with regular fiberglass from lowes, I made a 2" frame backed it with peg board, covered the fiberglass with dachron (or however you spell it) then covered the whole thing in fabric. Turned out pretty decent and seem to work well. If I could figure out how to post pictures I would post my work in progress..[] ~ross

i use dual heresy's between my chorus, mounted vertically, about 8" off the floor. IMHO they sound awsome, I know there are others that say you shouldn't do it, but I think it is great. It blows the Acadamy I had out of the water, clear crisp seamless from left to right. But as I said before just my opinion. If you like the way it sounds that is what is important. Good Luck ~ ross

What you aren't going to do my idea??[] Well, I still wish that I had a dedicated room, have all these ideas in my head to try out sometime, the funny thing is after I posted that I started to watch an episode of DIY mancaves (very cool show) and they were building shelves that way for components. I agree with NOZ, don't run dual centers that are not the same, I run dual Heresy II's for a center, and I think they sound awsome, but yes there are those that will argue the point. But hey if you like the way it sounds that is all that really matters. If you have the means try it out might be supprising what you hear!! Good luck ~ ross

I haven't tried this myself, but I have thought about it quite a few times, what about mounting drawer rollers on each side and build your shelf to attach to the rollers and then pull it out when needed and push it back in when done. I have a computer hutch that the printer pulls in and out, that is what made me think of it. Anyway I really like your room, someday I am gonna have that dedicated room!! [] Oh ya, I was always told to use 3/4" - 1" mdf over plywood, what do you think is plywood better? Good luck, Ross

I think I would hold out for a amp, or upgrading your surrounds to a reference line. I had a rc-62 and it is a great center, just don't think that you will see a great difference. Just my opinion though... Good Luck ~ R

I would suggest the KLF-C7, I don't think that the RC-62 would be a good fit, I tried it with Chorus I mains and it just didn't sound right, I picked up a set of Heresy II and use that as a center, much better. Ross

I have really enjoyed my interga reciever, they just produced a new line as well. I am looking at upgrading my 6.6 to either the 30.1 or the 40.1. As we all know though, there are alot of good ones out there. Good Luck ~ R

just to add some other options, I use a carver 806x (6x130) before that I had parasounds (2) HCA 1000's and a HCA 750 bridged mono for my center. I like just have one external amp due to space, but I think it sounded better with the parasounds.

I would say that it depensds on what you like to listen to the most. If you are more into movies, you really might want to consider the RS line of speakers, or if you are more of a music guy a second set of towers might be the way to go. I had matching front and rear RF-82's and worked great for both movies and music cranked up. When I ran the front 82's with RS-52 rears I just didn't care for they way it sounded with musi c. I am though more of a music first then movies guy... ~ ross

I would say that you might not hear a big difference with the 52, the 62 on the other hand is a awsome center channel, I had mine paired with the RF-82's and it sounded great

I agree about the Chorus II, I really like mine, they have a great sound for both movies and music. I agree with vnzbd though, I paid 400 for mine and 350 for the chorus I's. ~ Ross

I would suggest that you run a seperate amp if at all possable. I run Chorus mains and Chorus II's as rear sourrounds. I would like to swap them but the Chorus I are front firing ports and I have them built into the wall. My Intergra 6.6 is rated 100wpc and although I never had it go into protection mode it just seemed to be lacking a bit. It has pre-outs so I started looking at external amps and that made a world of difference, I have not checked power ratings, but it is a carver 806x (130x7) the amp is also running my heresy II centers. I have never been able to listen to Forte so I am not sure what the bass response is from them, but I can tell you that I have chorus mains and chorus II rears andbefore I went (as my wife would say extreme) I was running a RW-12D and it was awsome, I liked the digital feature for setting up different response for movies and music listening. Before that I was running a Sub-12 and it performed great also. Now I have the KA-1000-THX Sub amp, running a 1000W to two 15" Rockford Fosgate Power T1 subs in custom enclosures. [] I will never complain about bass again!! ~ Ross

I am running Chorus mains and and dual Heresy II's as my center channel, powered by a Carver 806x external amplifier (6 x 130) and splitting the signal to two of the 6 channels. IMO I think it sounds great. I wouldn't suggest running two different peakers for a center though. I am in the process of a slight remodel but I will post some pictures when I am finished. I have seen several HT setups running dual speakers for centers and thought they sounded good, thats why I decided to do the same. Although, if I ever come across a single Chorus, I will most likely replace the dual Heresy setup and move them to side surrounds. ~ Ross

i've seen a few different speakers that have been painted, have to say everyone of them just didn't look as nice. If it was me I wouldn't paint them.

I don't really know if it is a negative pairing the 61's with your current RC-25, just that you will generate a better front sound stage with the larger center channel, as many have stated before most of your dialog comes through your center channel, when I upgraded from the 52 to the 62 it was a world of difference. just a thought, maybe there is a local dealer that has one you can listen to and hear for yourself. i am more a music guy and liked my matched RF-82's, I later added RB-81's for 7.1 sound, I did have rs-52's before the 81's just didn't like the way they sounded in all channel stereo when listening to music. I haved since moved to Heritage which is a different sound all together!! and by the way don't waste you $$ on high priced wire, monoprice.com is the way to go. also, IMHO the bi-wire made no difference to me on the 82's just more wire to hide!!

i agree with wuzzer, i would look into a pair of rs-52's or start with 42's then upgrade later. My previous setup was rf-82 fronts with 82 rears i really liked the way it sounded, but I am mostly a music guy then movies.

I agree that the 61's would sound great but lack in the low end, I have a buddy that mounted a pair from the cieling with a mount he modified and they look great. Just a thought. I would also suggest that you look art the rc-52 center, it is a bit bigger but you will get IMO better front stage sound with the RB-61's As for a reciever look at the Onkyo or the new line of Integra like the 40.1 or the 30.1, I currently have an older Integra 6.6 and looking to upgrade to the 40.1 in the near future. good luck!!

I use double Heresy's as my center channel with Chorus I's for mains and Chorus II's as my rears. I just recently went to this set after haveing RF-82 front and rears with an RC-62 center, never will I stray from three ways again. Running a Carver 806x 130w per channel and it sounds awsome, movies or music. I say go for the heresy center.
