  1. Robert, I know where you can get the dipole surrounds if you run across the other speakers in the series. Keith
  2. Shoulda got the dealer ones for $1200. They looked good.Had 5 year warranty. Keith
  3. roscoedawg, try http://www.klipsch.com/pro2/press2.html Keith
  4. Yo Bob, on the rear of the SW8II there are speaker level inputs(+ & - L/R)and speaker level outputs(+ & - L/R)for two speakers. In this situation I am using only one high level in( + & - )and out.Use left or right input and output at sub or use say left + and right - in and out? Am I thinking too much? Also, will the subs 6db per octave high pass filter at 120Hz remove the deep frequencies from my center? What about this:stack banana(love em) on center speaker banana at back of amp and run additional wire to sub input(full range signal to center speaker with the additional wire being the high level signal to sub)? Primarily concerned about the correct speaker level hookup at sub rear using only one speaker.Using Audioquest Type 6 speaker wire (6 solid strands-3 red & 3 black)if that helps.BTW, the SW8II humps for such a small sub.Seems like a perfect center sub.If not I'll try the SW12II. Don the trenchcoat! Keith
  5. BobG, I'm still using my wonderful SonyES AV reciever with pre-outs on three front channels to Acurus 100X3 amp.Have KSP300 front L/R,KSF-C5 & C-7 center(can't decide which to use)and KSP300 rears.Stacked bananas on front L/R channels drive rear L/R,and drive them well.I prefer the clarity of the C-5 for the center and just bought a SW8II for center sub use.Don't really need the bass(everything in my house and the neighbors windows resonate now)Just having fun.My question to your expert self is this: how would you recommend hookup of the center sub? Keith
  6. boa12,you'r beginning to sound like my wife! Keith
  7. cleger, you may get some valuable advice,or opinions,on what others on this BB have used (amps)with Legends and how a particular amp may "color" the sound of your 30's.It would be worth the post. Keith
  8. cleger, no experience with ATI amps.Just got literature a week or so ago and haven't had time to dig deeper.Several good reviews though.Like the seven(7) year warranty. As far as the Acurus goes I've owned the 100X3 for 6+ years with no problems.Drove KG5.5's and KV2 center.Stacked bananas and front L/R channels drove 5.5's and TimeFrame 400's to 96 dbs at one third volume.Would be nice if you had a friend or local dealer that would loan you an amp.Check out E-Bay.Acurus 200X3 selling average $550.Look at www.mondialdesigns.com for info.Click Acurus. Keith
  9. cleger, although I cannot guarantee you that a separate amp would improve the sound of your 30's,I would bet that one would. If I had your set-up I would chech E-Bay for a good buy in an Acurus 200X2 or preferably a 200X3 amplifier.Better yet,buy new.The specs on your 30's give power handling at 200 watts maximum continuous,800 watts peak.My personal belief is to drive the hell ouy of my Klipsch's.Improves imaging, tightens bass, blah blah, blah.I personally use an Acurus to drive the upper end of KSP300's.I'm considering a Denon 3801 and I tell you now I'll also use a Acurus 125X5 or ATI amp for power.I'm tired of the pissy sound of AV recievers. My advice to you is more power.Use the power wisely. Keith
  10. MeThinks it would be wise to stick to something else that we know little of:audio. Keith
  11. The warranty is not transferable. Keith
  12. tman, I don't think there will be a LARGE difference between the KV2 And KV3.Not enough for my money.I can tell you there is a LARGE difference between the KV2 and C7.If I were using my 5.5's,I would go with the C7.In fact, that is why I bought one. Then ran into the deal with the KSP300's and changed directions(KSP300's instead of buying KLF20's).Do your homework before buying. The only problem you may face is powering the C7 sufficiently.MY PERSONAL BELIEF is to have more power available than the speakers are rated for.The added power inproves dynamics markedly.Ask anyone who uses separates. The KV2 is a small speaker but the amp I have bench tested 168 watts per channel if I remember correctly.Thats not to say I used anywhere near that, but there was a surprising difference between the AV reciever 100 watts per channel and the Acurus 100 watts per channel. When you get your 5.5's you may find the KV2 blends a little better than with your present speakers.Hope this helps. Keith
  13. Yes, and to quote your original post: "seems a bit weak and tin-can like".
  14. U-Bid.What a joke. Keiyh
  15. Sounds like john had a bad day.
  16. Aaron, thank you for the clarification. Was in a rush to go to work. t-man, what I am saying is the KV2 is not capable of playing below 75Hz (check the Klipsch KV2 literature that I so graciously sent you). The KG5.5's 34Hz.So what you are hearing is only the mids and highs. On top of that you are setting your center to small which is removing bass from the center.Just as Aaron clarified for me,you COULD possibly use a small sub with the center and change setting to large which would then allow the center to play the low end center sound.Lets face it,everyone by now should know the inportance of the center speaker, and to use anything less is a compromise.I have a 53" Sony RP tv but I did not use another KG5.5 for my center.BTW, after getting the C7 center several weeks ago and trying it out,I was amazed by it.Only used it a few minutes before boxing it up for storage. As bad as I hate to recommend anything to anyone,I don't think you can go wrong with the C7.It is big even on top of my 53" tv.IMO the only other option for you would be to go with the center sub idea. That's what I'm about to try. Hope this makes sense.Just worked all night long. Keith
  17. tman, in a nutshell none of the speakers are going to give you what you are looking for.I used the same speaker you have with my KG5.5's for 6+ years. To answer your question the only "match" will be the 5.5 center.I powered that speaker with an Acurus 100X3 and the KV2 matched my 5.5's well.Anything other than another 5.5 will be a compromise. You are compromising for space limitations. My humble suggestion, if not satisfied with the KV2,would to get a KLFC7 or a small subwoofer to use with the KV2.I just ordered today a new in box Klipsch SW8II for $199.That would work nicely with the KV2 considering space limitations. The KV2 is not the problem.Your expectations for it are the problem.
  18. Seems to me you answered your own question. Perhaps your reciever is INADEQUATE. Keith
  19. Mystery Guest, is your husband into music? If so you might try asking him questions and listen to him very carefully and treat him like a god from audio heaven.Try cooking good meals for him several times a day and do not bother him when he is messing with his manly stereo set-up.Dust his manly electronic goods regularly and wax his truck when he does not expect it.Do other things for him(you know what I mean). He will slowly educate you in the world of Klipschdom and hopefully one day you will be as brilliant a speciman as he is. Keith BTW,tell Steve I need to borrow $100.00
  20. jeb, call Amy(she's so sweet)at 1 800 KLIPSCH and tell her you need 1 ea. part # 104006 grill assembly. She will probably charge you $46.00 for it.Then again, she may not charge you at all(she's so sweet, did I mention that?).Spare her the story. Keith
  21. I have a car that reads 120 MPH on the speedometer.I have never used all of the power necessary to reach that speed, but it is nice to have in case I ever need it.My wifes car speedometer reads 90 MPH maximum. We have never used the power necessary to reach that speed but the lack of power is apparent at lower speeds.I have a SonyES reciever that is rated to deliver 100 watts per channel.I bought an Acurus 100X3 amp and have used both together(line level)since new.Although I have never used all of the power the Acurus is capable of delivering, the fact that the power is there is apparent at the low end.And the middle. And the upper end.The sound,in comparision,is much more dynamic with the Acurus amp and is a good match for my Klipsch speakers.I also believe that using the separate power amp is the reason my Sony reciever has lasted 6+ years and still going strong.Lay your hand on a newer 5/7 channel reciever and you'll see what I mean.BTW,the Acurus has always driven two pair or floor standing speakers.KG5.5's for six years, and now four KSP300's.Volume at 11 o'clock is LOUD and rattles the windows in my nieghbors sunroom.Don't cha just luvit. Keith
  22. Go to HiFiBuys. They've had KLF20's for $996.00 pair quite a while now. Keith
  23. Danny, the KSPS6's are no longer in production(so I've been told). They are a lot like dinosaur bones. You have to do a lot of digging to find them. Keith
  24. BobG2, Well stated. The chart calls for RS3's, although I have my own opinion of that. BTW Bob,can you give me info on the Klipsch KT-DS THX dipole surrounds?Have searched the site and could not find anything.Thanks. Keith
