  1. Richie, A friend of mine is selling a fully rebuilt Dynaco Stereo 70 in very nice cosmetic condition. It has the desirable cloth lead transformers and has been fully rebuilt using a new larger, multi section, power supply capacitors(40,80,30,20 mf 525V), new 100mf bias supply caps, 716P - orange drop, film & foil caps. It has a brand new set of Sovtek EL34s and 5AR4 and original, good, US made, 7199 tubes. He's asking $425 + shipping for it. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you his contact info.

  3. Here's another preamp to consider http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1125621983
  4. Allan, If for any reason, the sale of 2,3,10 falls through, please let me know. Thanks.
  5. Gary, I have a Grado Green that you can have for free.

Makes Heresy sing like I don't know what. Another thing, now JJ Tesla makes a 7591 tube which is an exact replacement (not taller like the Russian tubes) which sounds great and are $15 each! ---------------- I think that it uses EL-84's.

Same questions for Codhead's rack, if you know. ---------------- Travis, The rack is called Starbase and was imported from the UK. You can read more info here http://www.audiophilebase.com/ . The feet are adjustable and there are few spacer sizes. A friend of mine was thinking about becoming the US distributor and had imported a few of these. He dropped the idea off because they become too expensive (over $4k retail) . He have 3 more demo units that were used in CES - I know he wishes to sell them at a very discounted price.
  12. I've owned a Koetsu Black and it's a very nice cartridge. It is very musical and has a seductive midrange but the frequency extremes aren't that great.
  13. There's a nice 401 plinth on Audiogon http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgtabl&1123239005 It might be worth checking it out.

  15. Your kidding. That's not a tonearm that's a......(nevermind).

You might like the sound - but not the effort....any guesses??? ---------------- No clue. BTW, the micro seiki arm on my table is the MAX-282. A perfect arm for ya .

If your looking for a good transcription arm, try a Moerch. Same price as a used 3012, maybe better performance? Better yet, if you can stretch your arm budget, go Ikeda (basically a new version of the Fidelity Research). ---------------- Kev, I need to go with an SME because my cartridge weighs more than 30 gram (and because it's a great arm). I know the Ikeda and FR arms very well and they're not as good (IMO). I might settle for a 3009R in the mean time until a 3012R will pop up. I've listed my Micro Seiki arm on audiogon, mentioning a possible trade for a SME and hoping for the best.
  19. Another nice looking, updated HF-81 showed up on Audiogon, with a nice selection of tubes. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?vintelec&1125015987 edit: oops, location Peru.

Ahhh....those were the days (early 1990s). ---------------- The prices for TD124's and Garrard 301's had really risen in the past year. Eighteen months ago, I've sold a mint TD-124 for $250 and 3 SME 3012 for $350 each, 3 years ago. I've been looking for a 3012R for my new (to me) turntable and hope to find for less than $1200 today. Wish I hadn't sold them.

How DARE you suggest that a 40-50 year old rim-drive table can actually MOP THE FLOOR with just about any new table in the $2000 or less price range? Garrard 401s and Thorens TD-124s will perform in a similar manner . . . http://www.analogue-classics.com/html/thorens_td_124.html ---------------- Most $15K tables will mop the floor with $2k tables (Yes, the Shindo 301 cost 15K). Otoh, I'm selling my previous turntable and it will definitly be better than anything else up to $5k (but I'm probably biased ) http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgtabl&1124496384
  22. Codhead, Looking forward to see some pics once you receive them.

  24. I like Codhead's system. That Wyetech amp is impressive.
