It's not a matter of taming the RF-7II's hiss, its most likely the AVR (99% sure), so if you plan an upgrade, as it appears you are, you should be fine. I used to run three RF's in front two on the sides and 6 KSP-S6 surrounds with two subs and the whole thing was dead silent. A good quality multi-channel amp would be more than adequate. You will be very happy when you are done, very nice. Enjoy.

Joe made the journey from Utah today, picked up the speakers and is on his way home. He promised he would be listening to them by the days end. Can't wait to here from him once he uncrates these. I had to work so I unfortunately was unable to meet with him in person but my wife said he and his familly were super nice people. Great that they went to a good home.

What did you think of the ultra towers?

Just a little added info. When I pulled these out of there boxes last year to use one for a center I noticed the tweeter was not working so I ordered new diaphragms from Bob at Crites and replaced them. I also used this opportunity to order new midrange driver to horn gaskets and new capacitors from Bob, so everything has been updated on both speakers.

Those are very nice GLWS

They have spent a good part of there life in there boxes. I pulled one out last year to use as a center between my Belle's when we moved to the new smaller home.
