  1. We just received these not Klipsch but Altec Lansing but are very cool. 2 816A and 2 816A bass bins and 6 MRII 5124 horns. We are not sure what we are doing with these yet.
  2. The room since it's not finished and I'm running 3.2 for now in the living room that is to small and no room for the surrounds. Two of the Hersey's are on the computers mmmm nice near fields 5 new custom doors and 4 windows new wood floor power upgrade running gas for fireplace plus 2 total guts on bathrooms. S### what did I do..
  3. That has RF shielding and most will not need that. Also no cell service can we say faraday cage. The Lowes by me has Quiterock 500 that is 1/2 " but you can order 525 that is 5/8. There are 2 things that I see. That is it weighs 3.3 lbs per sq. ft. My back hurts already. Plus they want $66.00 a sheet. I'm getting closer to dry walling, but I need to decide what I will use.
  4. Drywall with green glue may be a bit cheaper. Quietrock does work. One of my TV control rooms and the studio had Quietrock on the other side of the wall with roxuel insulation. You can crank the music in both rooms and to other side and you don;t hear anything. That said we don't use any subs in those studios..
  5. 1 Lowes store in town carries it and it's about $45.00 a sheet. 5/8 drywall $12.00 a sheet the the green glue and you use a lot of it. So you come out about $10.00 or less a sheet. The Quiterock is only 1/2 thick and 2 sheets of 3/8 with green glue is about 7/8 thicker. I will be using Quiterock on the ceiling as I can't lose almost a inch of height. They say it's equal to 5 sheets of drywall but I think that is without green glue.
  6. Hi Brian I tilted my center corn with a 1 X 2 under the front painted black. Then I used a 1 X 2 under the back of the TV to keep that level.
  7. Nice project. Try felt pads behind your pictures and the stuff that sits on the shelf's. The round ones that are sticky on one side. You can get them from a hardware store. That is what I used and it help.
  8. bobdog If you have a spare Cornwall to make it a center channel I would do it. Have a new motor board cut from birch plywood. Once done you will not look back, but you will ask your self what took you so long to do it. This is where the factory is losing out now on the Cornwall III is no center channel. As for grill on these I just thought mine went missing after all these years. I had no pieces of cloth wrapped around the motor board. For staple holes on the motor board to hold the grill I don;t remember as it was 10 years ago.
  9. One more mod, I installed felt around the tweeter and squawker opening.
  10. Yes I bought them used. A forum member in 04 posted that a set was on Kansas City Craigslist. So I and the wife left Colorado Spring at 2 pm to go and them up. The wife got mad at me on the trip. Not for driving to pit up speakers, but that I was behind the wheel of her new 03 Dakota R/T hit 10,000 miles and not her. I didn't here them when I bought them, but I had to have them. I was looking for a years for one for the center channel. The squawkers were blown so i I went to Crites for the parts for the repairs and bought upgrades. The bats are from a fabric store and I was the only guy in the place. I would think about selling one. I did paint one black it was pretty beat up but it looks good in black. I was going to re veneer it but that has been but on hold with the theater build
  11. Here is a pic of the inside. All the insulation was bad so I used cotton bat, It works good. CT125 tweets from Bob with his caps for the cross overs. I also dynamat on the horns. I did these mods to my 84 corny's also but with the stock paper insulation. By the way I bought the 84's new and I think the wife would shot me if I ever sold the 84's. My 72's were in very bad shape when I bought them.
  12. Ill have to take some pics tonight. and no they didn't have grills. They were in bad shape and there were mouse droppings inside and was hard to clean. I did have to replace bats inside. I do have pics of replacement bats inside. I will see what I can find.
  13. I have not had any problems I was just looking for the amp draw to match the circuit for the job at hand. That is the piece of data that I can't find. 15 amp is probably good but now is the time when the walls are open and you are running the wires. At the end both may not be on the same circuit. as I'm hiding 3 other drops in the walls so I can find the best setup. In the small room they are in now they are between the 3 Corny's. In the new setup one may go to the back or to the side, but this the RTA will tell me.
  14. When I pick up my 72's in MR they had no grill. One of those would make for a great center channel.
  15. I'm running 2 RSW 15's, My son and pick me up the second one for Christmas off Craigslist Pueblo. I did have to cut back the power on my first one about 6 db maybe a little more. The living room that it's now is half the size of the theater room so I will be pushing harder when the theater room is finished. I thought 15 amp would be fine. I may run the wire for 20 amp but make it 15 amp for now. I have the wire so there is no extra cost since I bought 250 ft. to run 20 amp to the main rack and a 15 amp for the half rack next to it so I have both gauge wire. On running to 10 or 15 hz I'm going to try, as I have a RTA and will be tuning the room so I will be pushing them. I will have to say once that I got them setup up that it was worth having a second sub. Thanks for your input
  16. It will be a new circuit as I also running new circuits for the racks and 220v for central air. I'm also bringing my breaker box from 100 amp to 200 amp.
  17. How much power does a pair of RSW 15's pull? I'm running some new power to my theater room. Thanks
  18. That's what you get from not prof reading and posting late at night
  19. As for insulation I'm using rockwool and sealing all seams and holes. I'm all so using quiterock drywall. Quiterock sells green putty sheets that rap around the back of outlets to keep sound out of the walls. Good luck and have fum with the build
  20. Nice mount I may look at that in my new theater. In may old theater I used a French cleat. You take a 1x4 and cut it the length of the back board side to side and cut that length down the middle at 45 to 60 deg. This had my 4 Heresy's up for 10 years and never came loose.
  21. I bought a second RSW15 grill and it didn't have a grill so I need one
  22. Colorado Springs CO. to kansas city to pick up my 72 vert Cornwalls with the wife. Someone from this fourm years ago said that these were listed in the KS thrifty nickel. Got a hold of him at 2oclock and hit the road. They looked like they were in a shed but bought them.
  23. Upgrade the caps, I just did with the kit from Bob. My center is from 73 and there was a big improvement. my mains are from 84 and has a B3 crossover and that helped also. I also put in the Crites tweeter's in all 3. It was a nice upgrade. With the K55 driver that you have you can also upgrade the crossover from Bob. That will be my next upgrade, but I need to change my 84 driver from a K57 to a K55 for the upgrade. I will be doing this in a few months.
  24. Rebuilt the crossovers in the Cornwalls. I now have better bottom end, a little flatter and the volume went up by 2db. The CT125's were a great upgrade. More detail and a little more open than the K77's. I need to add the CT125's to my Heresy's. The mids still need some help. I'm looking at Bob's Cornscala crossover with a cap change so I can us it with my stock Cornwall horn.
