I heard those at the capital audio fest about 3-4 years ago, driven by altec tube mono blocks. I like them a lot. Glad he is still making them. Price was very high....but so is the craftsmanship it seems.

Thanks wvu80 I informed the "buyer" that I need him to verify his paypal account before I will ship and I will only ship to the verified name and address as listed on paypal. Or he can pay me by check and I will refund his money via paypal. I have not heard from him for a few days. For those of you who are not aware, if you are not selling on ebay, if the buyer pays via paypal and you shipped to an address other than the verified person and address, you have forfeited your paypal seller's protection. There are a lot of scams and a lot of scums out there. Seller and buyer both beware. There may be a chance this may work out but I am not holding my breath.

After many years of sonic bliss with this Audio Research reference 1 Preamp, I have finally upgraded to newer ARC model. Hence selling this one. This is a tube preamp and is equipped with Electroharmonix 6922 tubes. This was one of the original super preamps and its a later model that has an IEC power connector and Infinicaps. Condition is 7/10. Some small nicks on the front edge can be seen in the picture. It s listed in audiogon and Chicago craigslist. Listing here for $2300. Unit originally lists for $10K. Includes original box, manual and remote. I will also include standard AC power cord.

Are you willing to separate the sds? And the outer ring?

Not sure if someone on this forum is interested, but I have two vintage Altec 288C drivers available for sale. These have blown diaphragms. However, you can replace the phragms yourself with new GPA ones for $100 each. I am asking $450 for these shipped to CONUS. Local pick up is welcome and I will reduce the shipping/packing costs accordingly.

Horns are worth $100, but the drivers attached are worth much more. Someone should grab this great deal...

Ha, remindes me of the theater buy out i did last year, i had six of those critters, had a couple set up on my Scalas for a few days. I think there are pics in my Gallery. Those EVs can pump out the high's like no others. Do you still use them? I got because I figure that they would sound better than 511B horns with 808-8As....I love the horns in yellow, maybe I should keep them?

Moray, you just make me want to keep them... I was going to pair them with A7 cabinets..... The ones I have are the industrial gray color. The white and yellow colors look awesome

How can one tell if you have original EV diaphragms ? one more thing pictures please.... Good question, I asked the previous owner, who was running a PA re-purposing business. He assured me they were EV phragms. Other than that I have no way to check. I will post pictures with resistance measurements over the weekend.

Selling my EV DH1A drivers attached to EV HP9040 horns/base plates. Local pick up in the Chicago area. Was going to use these for a project with my A7 cabinets, but simply do not have time anymore. Selling to make room. Everything is in excellent condition. $400 for all.

What happen to the A7 cabinets? Also, on the Jubilee, how much do they sell for new? How much did Steve's sold for?
