I had a 2001 Dodge Caravan that quit running because the computer crapped out. Plenty of dents all around and the AC didn't work. I scrapped it for $360.00.

Yeah, I' might take that for it... just kind of nostalgic I guess... lot of years of hauling kids in that thing.

Just getting tired of all the unexpected expenses lately but that's how it is sometimes.   Once in a while it all hits at the same time.  All part of the fun!

  2. Kelly Blue Book says 2800 - 4100.  4100 would be top dollar from a dealer and I’d guess it would be closer to 3k+ from an individual.  A used transmission isn’t much less than that.  Body is decent and everything works (even dvd)  except the passenger window.   Considering donating maybe.

  3. Just a month ago, my wife and I were talking about selling the old 2003 Odyssey but we hadn't done anything with it yet.  Well, we waited too long I guess and now the transmission needs to be replaced.   It isn't worth the cost and effort to us because we really don't need it anymore.   The engine runs like a top and I imagine this fully loaded van at 148k miles could have a lot more miles to go potentially.  Any ideas or interest?

  4. When dealing with insurance for personal property I found that I just had to show an existing equivalent and give a good argument.  An example was a custom built computer with high end parts (for the day) that I put together a couple years earlier.  I had to find the closest equivalent I could buy outright and get their "tech" guy to agree it was a fair replacement.

I think you will lose if arguing price of materials plus your labor but coverage can differ.  When it comes to replacing my kitchen cabinets that I BUILT they would only pay for materials for me to do it myself but they would pay a cabinet shop full price.

    Good luck.

Edit:  Get a quote from a cabinet shop to build your cabinets!  Or electronics tech to build your project.   Insurance should accept that plus the parts I would think.

    @muelthanks ..

Do you think I could find tips on how to make my sound more immersive, enveloping and stereo better fidelity?

Yes, it is about getting your room right... speakers and seat in the right place.  When you have a room that is not just for audio... other family members use it for other purposes, it can be very difficult to make some of the changes you might need.  You can get closer though.  While following the advice of the book I'd turn off any EQ.  You can redo the EQ settings when you are done.  Hopefully, you won't need much.

Story:  I wanted the NEW Rolling Stones Studio Lp Box set, So I ordered it paid 373.99 for it and waited, Got it today Via Fedex. Open the mildly damaged outer box and right away I see something disconcerting The clear tape on the inner box that protects the box set is a mess its all jumbled up and has a piece going across at 90 degree angle, Not what one sees on a NEW product. Next I pull the box out and the label on the side is totally faded as though its old or sun exposed. the inner box has zero damage. Next I open the box to retrieve the  box set itself there are 8 foam protective foam pieces 1 on each corner, all are pristine IE...No Damage.  Now I inspect the box set and I find a 3 inch crease in the top right rear oddly enough exactly where those pristine foam corner protectors reside inside the pristine inner box.  So this begs the ? how does 1 cause a crease like this with the foam and box in perfect shape ?  I figure they are reselling returned items as NEW, Called to inquire the ONE & ONLY PERSON that deals with returns replacements is AWAY for a WEEK........................Things are smelling foul, Go look up google and yelp reviews and guess what comes up 3 to 3.5 stars

BUYER BEWARE....................I paid via Paypal so after I wait my week I can file a claim if they fail to make it right

Thought some on here may want to know

This seems really strange to me but I know they DO sell used as well as new.  That's how it started... selling used records.   I've been there and seen their warehouse in Salina, KS as well as the record manufacturer across the street, Analogue Productions (https://www.discogs.com/label/57179-Analogue-Productions) both started by Chad Kassem.  They are a small shop but I cannot imagine that you have anything to worry about them making it right.  Chad has been putting on the Blues Masters and the Crossroads for over 20 years in Salina.  I finally got to go last Fall and it was a blast!  2 nights of great blues at the Blue Heavens studio that was formally an old church (great acoustics to say the least).   We also took a tour of the manufacturing plant which was really cool to see!  They have been contracted to repress a lot of old stuff as well as the new stuff they are cranking out at the studio.

I'd say to give them time to make it right and let us know here.

  7. http://getbettersound.com/index.php  I recommend Jim Smith's book or DVD's often because he helped me a lot.  It is geared to 2 channels but getting the room right is important no matter how many channels.  Your speaker and seat placement might be limited to a small number of options but I'll bet you can improve.  Your first reflection for the left channel is rough!

Work on your room as much as you can.  Not all improvements have to be expensive!

Totally understandable. It's also important to take the time and understand intent - I wasn't blasting his nationality in any sense, but merely using that to the illustrate how completely far removed he is from the region and why it irks me that those of us in Klipsch's back yard who spend our own resources for a visit are treated differently.

You have taken some nice pictures and it's helpful to those of us with other commitments who could not attend.  Companies are made of people who have varied ideas and vary in their decisions and even change their minds sometimes.   Try to not take it personally even though it feels that way.

National origin is a protected class so it is something else we have to tread lightly around.  My thought is that we can try to not be disparaging.  I think you have clarified your thoughts here.
