  1. I got bored today at school, and decided to design a tight HT setup. Started with a Square piece of paper, and added the speakers. Using RF-7 Mains, RF-7 Front effects, RF-7 Rears, 2 RF-7 for front center, and 1 RF-7 for rear center. As for the subwoofers. Note** I like bass.. I like strong, loud, clean, smooth healthy bass. 2 SVS CS's on front channel. 2 SVS CS's on rear channel. 2 HGS 18's under the Couch on the Front effect channels. The HGS's are so you can "feel" the bass. And since they are on the Effects channel, it wont be all the time, or quite as hard as with the other subwoofers. Ofcorse, each wubwoofer would have seperate controls. Used 2 RF-7's as Front Center, because I realy like to hear the people. And using 2 I thought would fill the front sound stage better and make it more real. They would lay horizontaly underneither the Screen (for projector). As soon as I get Photoshop up and running, I will draw a pic of it, and post. Give me your thoughts please. Oh, and the total system would cost about 62,000$ 9 RF-7's, 4 SVS CS's, 2 HGS 18's, Projector + couch, stands, screen. And the Amps 2 7.1 Yamaha Amps for bi amping. Denon DVD player. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  2. Rescently converted one of my friends. I was talking to him about speakers, and he ways saying to get Infinities.. ** They are RICH! ** Well, I showed him the Klipsch website.. and a few speakers.. and told him about them. About 1 hour later (we're talking on AIM) and he's says, I just orderd the Pro's. Well, 10 minutes later, I actualy look at the link, from where he bought them....... he got the Quintets. So now he owns a Quintet setup. He says he currently has two big Yamaha's 2 Yamaha recievers with 7.1, and ceiling speakers. When we find the time, he is going to come with me up to Hill Crest, where we are going to listen to the new RF-7's... I wouldnt be suprised, that they will own a pair with in the next month. Then thers my GF. Jo-Jo. Got her into Klipsch. Gotta... but wont,...... Make her dad relize that Fisher doesnt NOT make High End good speakers, and haver has. Then theres Jo-Jo's friend, who owns a .... Boston setup. I told Jo-Jo that that setup probobly sucked, and he could have gotten more for his money with a Klipsch setup. She told him that I said his setup sucked. He told her.. lol... (not exact) "Tell him to call me and I'll turn it up, and we'll see who's system sucks" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ISnt that funny? Well, gotta get this guy to come over and listen to our Heresys, or go listen to some RF-7's. Then thers my friend Andy, who while we were in Best Buy, argued with me about Bose. I was telling him how they sucked.. And kept saying they didnt, and that they got good sound for theyer size (talking about loudness). Its funny, the last 2 people relate loudness with Quality.... even worse, they both relate BOSE to quality...... And the other guy, hadnt even heard of Klipsch. My storys. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds

  6. Not sure who makes them. But at Hill Crest, and a few other HI FI stores I have been to they have some NICE and Large screens. Only seen 1 maby 2 of the Real big ones that I have been impressed with. alot of the smaller, thin ones, that hang on the wall.. are REALY REALY impressive. What are they? plasma? But my favorite is the Rear Projectors, put up a nice white screen, and you got your self a great movie experiance. To bad they are so damn expensive ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  7. Well The Boxes should be Clearly marked. v2-400's will say v2-400 on the Box 4.1's will say 4.1 on the box 41's will say you guessed it... 5.1 on the box, and will have a Center Speaker (1 more, 5 instead of 4) and 500 watts of power, instead of 400$. Also, the 4.1's on the Pre Amp, will have a On/Off switch, with a light next to it, and will have two 1/8th jacks on the side, for Input, and headphones ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds

    Dvd Audio/ Sacd

I realy wish these companies would work on making small storage Devices like Mini Disk better. Hell, with alittle work everything could be put out on those little disk. Instead of using DVD's Use Double Sided Mini Disk. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds

  12. To end this: There will be SOME kind of Improvment with Better wires on the Pro Medias. But the money it would cost.. and the fact that it voids the warenty.. its just Ignorant. Pro Medias are Computer Speakers, not high end HT speakers. You got a complete setup for about 300$.. what do you expect? The "time smearing" thing.. I found out for the cable to actualy make a difference.. a signal will have to have been sent from here to the moon. But the improved wires on the Reference line does improve it some. Pro Medias are Computer Speakers, NOT high end HT speakers. You got a complete system for 300$ what do you expect? I still wanna know how to talk out of my butt..... ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  13. Suggestion. I'm guessing you wanta realy good setup... but you dont have the money. Try this. Buy the RF-7's right now. Later on save up and get a Center (RC-7). Some Rears (RF-3's). Then get a descent sub. This will in the long run cost you more money. But you will Be ALOT happier. I have heard the Synergy speakers, and the RF-3's and the RF-7's. The RF-7's were awesome. Just heard them yesterday. Well friend, thats just my two cents. PS: Thank god you arnt getting BOSE. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds This message has been edited by DwK on 07-08-2001 at 10:40 AM

  16. Because I am not rich, and short on cash.. and deffeniatly will be after having a car, becauase of food gas ect. I will probobly pick up a set of Pro Medias off Ebay, and hook them up in my car. If the inverter isnt to much How much would one cost me? as for the speakers bouncing around, thats where the Hofys FAmous Duck tape mounting system comes into play ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  17. I can understand what your saying. Makes sense... little hard to comprehend. But i'm open minded and ... like to think i'm kinda smart to. 18. To prove someone wrong (so much being said, this has to prove someone wrong) The Monster Cable used in the new Klipsch Reference line uses one thing (cant remember the name ) but it stops "time smearing" by slowing down the High Frequencies so all the frequencies reach you at the same time. Like building tilted Speaker boxes, but... using... special wire instead..... Having badass Monster Cable on the Pro Medias, with upgraded hook ups, will probobly only offer alittle improvement in sound, due to less deteriation of sound through the wire, the connectors. And the anti "time smearing" stuff. It would also lower the resistance some allowing the spakers to play louder with less power. (Not a BIG difference.. we're talking fairly smalls>. But when you get done you have probobly spent 100 + bucks. Not worth it In my opinion. Just save up and get some good speakers if its that big of a deal to you. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  19. Well, it would be nice if the 5.1's would wake me up in the mornings for school, with breakfast ready on a cart next to my bed. 20. Mike? Why does he need a Dolby Digital Sound card? He's getting the 4.1's.... Malachai, you should be quite happy with your speakers. I suggest checking out the 5.1's then a Dolby Digital decoder sound card would be good. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  21. As I have heard others say on this forum before. Spend the most you can on the best system you can. In a couple years the money saved would have been forgotten, but the thought of owning those better speakers will always be there. 2 RF-7's 2 RF 3's instead of the Surrounds just my 2 cents ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds

  24. Howdy Someguy. iXtreme, I would have refrained from making this post... But thats me. Someguy: I made a reply under my Topic (where this began) Correct me if I am wrong with what I am saying... How old are you BTW? I am only 16, so here it is. I CAN BE WRONG!! not often, but it happens "placebo" << could of swore this was the name of a group or a song.... some reason Pure Mornin also comes to mind... Think that was the name of the song. On the topic of Large speaker wire internaly. Klipsch's new Reference series is shipping with Monster Wire inside, they say it improves the preformance. I remember you saying in an earlier post that the larger wire wouldnt matter unless you were using high end speakers, amps or something else.. cant remember. Is Klipsch just toying with our minds, or is this for real? For one, I think it is (for real). ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
  25. Someguy correct me if I am wrong here. If we upgrade our Speaker wires and instead of a 1/8th hook up on the back we have Straight Speaker wire hook ups. Now you got this signal being sent through 16 guage Monster Cable till it reachs the plugs on the Speaker. From the Plubs to the actualy Speaker, you have tiny *** wires. Its like having information sent through a Fiber Optics network, till it suddently reaches a ISDN line. Just seems to me there would have to be some improvement. Because as soon as the signal reaches those small wires, it looses something. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
